About this property

Chalet Cabin on Big Bass Lake.

Beautiful chalet lake cabin with open concept 2,500 square foot two story walkout chalet, 5-bedrooms, 3-bathrooms. Kitchen updated in January 2020 to include new stainless steel appliances, new granite kitchen countertops and new tile backsplash. Main level living/dining/kitchen area has a wood burning fireplace, 65" flat screen TV, surround sound, 6'x6' kitchen island, ample seating and large windows facing the lake with a wrap around deck and 3-season porch. The master suite is in the loft and overlooks the living area directly out to the lake. The lower level is completely finished, games, 58" smart TV, extra fridge and a walkout to the lake, patio and fire pit area. There are five bedrooms and three full bathrooms; master suite and bath in the loft, two bedrooms and one bath on the main level and two bedrooms, and one bath on the lower level. Additional bunk beds, futon couch and futon chair downstairs. Laundry is located downstairs as well. Plenty of outdoor space for family activities including large steel fire pit with split fire wood, patio table and seating for six, picnic table, fenced dog kennel, large grass yards for outdoor games, horse shoe pit and parking for eight vehicles. The wrap around deck with Adirondack chairs also has an outdoor table and seating for eight with great views of the yard and lake. 32' aluminum badger dock and swimming area with 110' of wooded shoreline. An 8'x10' Shore-Master swimming platform with aluminum ladder anchored a short swim from the dock, great fun for all ages. We have five kayaks, two canoes, paddle boat and swim mat as well. Very secluded area, vacant 150 acre lot to the south and half a dozen seasonal cabins to our north. Abundant wildlife in the area, we frequently see deer, eagles, turkey, bear and waterfowl as we come and go from the cabin. We do not have direct access to the ATV trails from the cabin, however the trail head is seven miles away in Minong. Great family retreat cabin.

The Big Bass Lake Chalet is awesome. There's so much room for sleeping, enough bathrooms for a large group, a nice space for pool or ping pong or just watching TV and the "great room" is just that. The location is great for a winter gathering. Our host was easy to get in touch with as well.

We arrived for a 6 night stay, with 8 adults, and the home was perfect for us. It was immaculate, and well stocked with everything we needed! Beds were comfortable, with plenty of towels, life jackets, and grills. We used the pontoon one day, and used the paddle boat, kayaks, and canoe. Highly recommend this place. Owners very responsive. Hope to come back soon!

Everything was very good. Fishing was great, caught lots of fish. There were plenty of games and activities in the cabin to keep all occupied when weather didn’t cooperate . All in all an excellent cabin and experience . Looking forward to next year .

Winter Relaxing Weekend

Great place for a relaxing weekend even in the winter when it is snowing. Plenty of room and has everything anyone could need. It's quiet and cozy. Owner was great with communication and when it started snowing a lot offered to allow us to stay an extra day at no charge. We would definitely stay here again.

Why they chose this property

We purchased the cabin in the Fall of 2019 and plan to provide an all seasons short term vacation rental in northern Wisconsin. The cabin is nestled into the woods on the east shore of Big Bass Lake in Washburn County. The area is a summer and winter vacationland that we have personally enjoyed for the past fourteen plus years at our other cabin just down the road.

What makes this property unique

The cabin is somewhat secluded from the typical busy recreational lake, the land to the south is undeveloped vacant shore line and there are just a handful of seasonal cabins to the north on a dead end road. The rural road provides a great walking and biking choice with an abundance of wildlife in the area. The ATV trail is minutes away, river access down Hwy 77, several prominent golf courses within 20 minute drive, shopping in Hayward is 30 minute drive, lakes and forest in all directions. Great area for outdoor enthusiasts and yet still able to get a latte if you need it just 15 minutes away in Spooner.
