beautiful home in beautiful area
Nearly perfect. Gorgeous house on a perfect lot. Super private and quiet. The floorplan was perfect for us, too. The communication with the owner was good and prompt.
The hot tub was clean and wonderful. But there were no hot tub/pool towels for the SHARC provided in the house.
We greatly enjoyed the fireplace and the bikes were in good condition.
We have rented many a home in Sunriver so I expect the dated and kitschy look and feel the houses can sometimes have. It's all part of the charm! But this house kind of took it to the extreme. The furniture, kitchen equipment, linens and towels, and decor were all a bit too tired for our liking. Some parts of the kitchen and bathrooms were not as clean as I think they should have been. Which, I realize, is a subjective observation but seems worth noting if cleanliness is something you expect and appreciate. Disposable things need attending to. Like dirty soap pumps filled with watered down soap that have been re-used a few too many times. The kitchen dish brush. Long-expired spices and condiments in the cupboard and fridge. Accumulated papers and clutter. All things that are very easy to fix and would make the house look and feel better.
I would like to thank this guest for posting a review, however due to the negativity of a lot of it I would have much appreciated an email with issues that I could have resolved without positing this.
I sent an email to this guest with my concerns and asking for more specifics regarding furniture, linens, kitchen equipment and decor. She did respond and I will include some of her responses at the end of my response.
We are very responsive owners and I consider my guests as my eyes with regards to things that may be issues, cleanliness etc. We have rented this house to thousands of guests, none of whom have been this negative. As she said clean is subjective, we followed theses guests 2 weeks later and the kitchen brush that was there looked fine to me unless she threw the one away, the soap dispensers are not mixed with water, a white soap and then a clear antibacterial soap were mixed. There was something under the plungers of the soap dispensers but they were easily cleaned and i did purchase additional ones for future. I do provide a lot of spices and condiments for guests I did not realize that there is an expiration date. My thought at this point would be to discontinue providing any of these items and guests will have to bring their own but I am not ready to do that based on this guests comments. The accumulated papers and clutter, I don't know, these guests may prefer minimal decor but that is not me or this house.
I had purchased new furniture 2 months ago but had to wait for a donation center to pick up the current furniture so the new could be delivered. I have also purchased new towels and linens which I do every other year. I posted new photos of the house.
Some comments from the guest...., First let me apologize for just leaving a borderline negative review like that. I realize now after thinking it through I should have just emailed you directly . for that, I'm sorry. Your house is really lovely! It was unfortunate for us as we had my parents with us and I think they took more issue with some of the issues than we would have without them there with us.
I caught my mom trying to scrape food from the joint lines in the dining table. (she actually removed wood and stain by doing this so we are repairing the table and have ordered a clear piece of plexiglass for easier cleaning." She says this was the strangest thing because my husband and I loved your home. We would buy your house in a second!"

Spacious...yet cozy. A real gem.
Very comfortable and well equipped home. Outstanding value. The 3 bedrooms each have their own adjacent bath. The private hot tub is centrally located off the lower floor family room allowing convenient access for all the guests.
Thank you so much for your review. We appreciate your feedback, and are happy that you enjoyed our home. We hope you return again in the future.
Great property for a large group
We loved this house and the setting. It's on a beautiful lot in the trees with ample sun and lots of privacy. No traffic noises and dark starry skies. We had 4 adults and 6 kids! It's set up on two floors with two living areas which is why we chose it. The hot tub was lovely as well as the deep master bath Jacuzzi soaking tub.
We had plenty of room in the kitchen and dining room to be doing several things at once. It never felt crowded.
The owner was very responsive to our needs after we left a few items there. We are definitely staying again in the summer when we can take advantage of the rivers, bicycle touring and the Sharc passes!
Thank you for your kind words. We look forward you having to return in the future.
Great home in a great location.
Easy to feel right at home. Even though some things are a little dated, it was very pleasant. Loved the fireplace and downstairs living room. Kids liked the bunk beds and having their own space. Will be back soon.
Wonderful family time!
This was a perfect trip for my family! My husband and I took our adult children and their significant others for a weekend get away. This home was exactly what we needed! There was plenty of space and all the amenities. Most of our time was spent in the comfort of the kitchen, dining room and living room. We had great family time with conversation, food, games, and general "hanging out"! This area was perfect for that. We plan to come back sometime soon and even try out the bikes and SHARC passes! Thanks for sharing your home!
Sunriver Haven is located on Cultus Lane off of circle #4. It is close to Ft. Rock Park, the new SHARC and pretty much all amenities in Sunriver as it is in the Central part of Sunriver and close to the river.
