About this property
Apartment Carmers - 1 bedroom - 2nd floor
Already in the 14th century, 'De Drie Koningen' was one of the 'guest houses' where visitors could stay overnight. Since 1995 this tradition of hospitality can be found here again.
Today you will find 6 spacious and very comfortable holiday homes at this location, named 'De Drie Koningen'. They all have the same level of comfort with a spacious living room, fitted kitchen, 1 to 2 bathrooms with bath or walk-in shower, 1 to 4 bedrooms, etc ... They are spread over 3 buildings:
Twijnstraat 13: the building dates from the 14th century. The medieval aspect has unfortunately disappeared because it was thoroughly renovated in 1839 in the spirit of that time: a large mansion in neoclassical style. In 1997 the building was divided into 3 apartments: St-Donaas on the ground floor, St-Niklaas on the first floor and St-Jacob on the second floor. In 2002, the basement "De Vergulde Fontein" was completely excavated. The history of 'De Drie Koningen' came to light and one of the most beautiful 14th century cellars in Bruges was finally exposed. In this magnificent cellar you can attend now beer tastings, small events and Argentinian tango classes. From 2016 onwards, the apartments were once again renovated one by one in order to comply with the imposed safety regulations and the contemporary wishes of the visitors.
Twijnstraat 17: was originally part of a former notary's house from the 17th century in the Ridderstraat. At the beginning of the 20th century it became a private hospital with a doctor's practice until 1999. During the renovation in 2001 all outbuildings were demolished and a patio was created. This beautifully enclosed communal city garden (including a small swimming pool) gives access to 3 different apartments: "St-Jan" on the ground floor, "Onze-Lieve-Vrouw" above the former coach house and "Carmers" on the second floor. From 2017 onwards, the apartments were renovated for the last time.
A 'home away from home' for a pleasant holiday with friends or family. With no less than 105 m2, one of the largest apartments for 2 people in the center of Bruges! It contains a spacious living room, a cozy sitting area with a wide screen television with soundbar. There is also an 'open' kitchen where every hobby cook can come up nicely: an induction hob, full oven, separate microwave oven, dishwasher and a fridge with freezer compartment. 'Carmers' also has a bedroom with a 'queen size' bed and a bathroom with a walk-in shower. Separate toilet. In the summer you can enjoy the view of the inner city from the roof terrace.

A lovely flat in a historic building close to the centre. The owner, Tom, was very welcoming and gave us a tour of the 13th century seller in the building next door.
Excellent apartment, great location, friendly and accommodating host. We loved our stay. Only negative was carrying luggage to 3rd floor (70 yr old). There is no elevator.
My husband and I stayed in the Carmers Apt for 5 nights. Everything was as listed and commented upon. Location is quiet, yet close to the main square and all the sites. Ann and Tom were so helpful and caring. we were trying to get documents printed and referrals to medical assistance and they were there when we needed them!
We enjoyed a fabulous stay at this gorgeous, spacious, perfectly-located apartment. Pictures don’t do it justice. It is huge and lovely with modern appointments in a wonderfully old building. Our host Tom and his wife were lovely and added to our experience with hospitality and an unexpected tour of the building’s centuries old cellar—complete with Gothic arches. A wonderful cappuccino machine, dvd library, laundry, even a small pool…. We hated to leave! Thank you so much.
Pictures don’t do it justice. The apt is huge. Really nice place. The stairs in the photo go to a roof deck, the bedrrom is on the same floor as all the other rooms. We loved our stay and highly recommend this apt.

Comfortable spacious well equipped and centrally located.
Nico is very well organised from start to finish so the whole booking, check in and out was very smooth. Very roomy and convenient with dishwasher, full kitchen, drip coffee maker, washing machine and dryer downstairs. Two flights steps up with narrow treads typical of old European houses. Quiet, overlooks pleasant courtyard with swimming pool, not used in our time in Oct. In entry foyer large collection DVDs to borrow (we watched "In Bruges" of course). Also large range of beers and some wines at supermarket prices. Very close to central square "Markt". If you want good coffee, try "Brazila" on the left as you walk into Markt. Would love to go back if get the chance.

Vraiment parfait.
Je recommanderais vivement cette location.

Beautiful and spacious apartment
This gorgeous apartment is in a great location. Very close to the Markt (main square). Lots of space. Huge bathroom and the shower is a good size with decent water pressure. Nice little kitchen. Washer and dryer downstairs in another space but easily accessible. Love seat and a couch (long enough for naps). Looks out on pretty little courtyard. The owner provided relevant details prior to our arrival so there were no problems getting in. The only critique we have is that the apartment is on the 2nd floor with some fairly steep stairs so keep that in mind when deciding if this place is right for you. If we ever come back to Bruges, we would definitely rent here again
