Relax on your private canal-front deck, fish off your 30’ dock (lift not available), or cook in the fully equipped kitchen. Spacious living and tropical views make it easy to unwind. Plus, enjoy Cabana Club perks: pool, whirlpool, private beach, and Tiki Bar. Sun, fun, and island vibes await!

The Neighborhood:

Key Colony Beach is centrally located right in the heart of the Florida Keys. It's the ideal destination for boating, fishing, paddle boarding, snorkeling, swimming, relaxing on the beach, and more. Key West is a scenic 53-mile drive south, or explore nearby Marathon's shops restaurants, and attractions. Guests will be less than 10 minutes from the open ocean and gulf. Plenty of walking and biking paths to the city where you'll find the marina, golf, tennis, pickleball, bocce ball, playgrounds, and more! The Key Colony Beach Golf is just moments away from your rental. The Florida Keys Aquarium Encounters is two miles northwest and it offers incredible tours the family can enjoy while learning about the aquatic life of the Florida Keys. The Dolphin Research Center is also close by as well as the Turtle Hospital. Marathon has much to offer both on the water and land... see you "Somewhere in the Sun".



Other Things to Note:

30 feet of private dockage, the owner asks for small boats only. The boat lift is non-functional for guests. The lift is dropped to the bottom of the canal, you would dock above it. We have had no issues with docking boats this way.

Please note that if you plan to travel with a boat, we can only guarantee that one boat will be able to fit at the dock. Please be sure you are familiar with the dock size and do not assume more than one watercraft can be secured at the property during your stay.

This home is considered “Pet Friendly” you are required to select this option & pay pet fee upon booking. 2 pets max.

Great place lots of fun amenities

Great stay in a beautiful home. The patio and doc area are a perfect spot for family fun. Kids saw lots of sea creatures. Property is close to Cabana club with a nice pool and beach spot. The house is roomy and the open floor plan is perfect for family meals and game nights.

Marathon Adventure

We have been to the Keys many times, but this property is hands-down the nicest we’ve ever stayed in. Super clean, perfectly situated lovely amenities. We certainly will be back!

Perfect vacation get away! A beautiful home. Underwater lights in the canal made ocean life viewing a delight. Had manatees visit frequently. Highly recommend!

Wonderful property, completely updated, great appliances, comfortable beds & linens, fully equipped kitchen. My only suggestions would be: 1. remove the boat lift (even though it was submerged, it was difficult to allow access to our 20 ft. pontoon boat) 2. close the circumference of the property with fence (our dog had to be kept on a leash since there is no fence in front of the property). We would stay again easily.

Islands of Marathon

House was just as pictured! Had everything we needed and the location was terrific. Be sure you hit Sunset Beach Park so you can sing the famous The Islands of Marathon by John Bartus …an experience for sure & the sunsets are truly beautiful! Beautiful area, located in the middle of the Keys…a can’t miss!

Fantastic!

We loved staying here. KCB is such a neat place—super family friendly, and beautiful. The house was deceptively large and fit our five easily. We loved the canal and all the wild life—manatees, huge fish, coconut crabs, blue crabs, iguanas—the kids stayed out there all the time. Highly recommend and I hope we will be back!

Senior Trip

We celebrated our oldest’s high school graduation with a trip of his choosing-he wanted to deep sea fish in the Keys. He also fished and caught in the canal and in the gulf less than a mile from the house. The house had everything we needed and was in a great central location to checking out attractions all over the Keys. There were also numerous excellent restaurants close by.

Such a beautiful home

This place was so beautiful. Right on the canal. The house itself was so open in the main living area. The bed rooms were all spacious. Such a nice neighborhood as well. The property manager, Kelly, was absolutely wonderful. Best customer service I’ve experienced- she was great. If you’re looking for a calm, beautiful, relaxing house, this is it.

Such a beautiful spot

I was originally worried about this place because there was no recent reviews on it but I’m glad we took the chance on renting it. The house was BEAUTIFUL! The property manager, Kelly, was fantastic- the best I’ve had to work with. She made everything easy and she was very nice. The main living room and open kitchen area was great for our family. The bedrooms were very spacious and the beds were comfortable too. We had a pass to the pool and beach which was nice. The pool was very large and the beach was lovely. Thank you again

We got engaged!

Had a wonderful time here with our best friends, this is our second time visiting key colony beach and we will definitely be back! This place provided everything we needed to stay in and grill a for a few nights of our stay. Sitting out back was so peaceful and love that they have plenty of palm trees to provide some shade and isolation. While visiting we spent time with family friends on inch beach, saw 3 manatees in the canal along with some parrot fish. And we got engaged during the sunset at sunset park. Thank you for hosting us we hope to be back next spring!

Great Time Was Had By All

Our group of four recently spent a week at Somewhere In the Sun, and it was everything we hoped for—and more. The home was spotless, beautifully maintained, and had all the comforts and amenities we needed for a relaxing vacation in the Florida Keys. We especially appreciated the well-stocked kitchen, cozy furnishings, and the breezy outdoor patio that became our go-to spot each evening.The location in Key Colony Beach couldn’t be better. The neighborhood is peaceful and walkable, with friendly neighbors and eventful canal views. We enjoyed morning walks and evening bike rides through the area, and it felt like our own little slice of paradise. The private beach access and nearby Sunset Park were perfect for catching those breathtaking Keys sunsets.We took full advantage of the location to explore the area—from boating and fishing excursions to snorkeling trips and fresh seafood dinners in Marathon and beyond. The Keys’ natural beauty was on full display every day, and having such a comfortable home base made all the difference.Somewhere In the Sun was truly a gem. We left feeling relaxed, refreshed, and already planning our return. Highly recommend this spot for couples, families, or a group of friends looking to soak in all that the Keys have to offer.

Summer 23

The property is presented exactly how it is listed. It is a nice house with all the essentials! Our 9 year old twins loved the bunk beds! We brought our boat down with us and we found that the lift made it mildly problematic getting in and out of the boat, but nothing we couldn’t make work. The only major problem we encountered was ants. We had been there 5 days and had only seen a few ants here and there but by the last two days there were ants on the couch, in the hallway, and in the second bathroom. I found two hotshots under the sink and put them out but the ants were plentiful. We were even killing them while we were sitting on the couch and they were crawling on us. I contacted the property manager and they indicated they would call pest control the next day. My husband mentioned that they were probably making their way in because of the amount of rain we had. Overall, it was a great stay!

Great place to stay !

This property was easy to rent. The owner communicated well with us during the renting process. The house itself is beautiful. We were able to walk the entire city of Key Colony Beach from its central location. It was more than accommodating for our family of 4. The patio was a great place to hang out when we weren't off and running around the keys. The Cabana Club membership is a bonus, it is a great place to eat, drink and swim! A fabulous time was had here by our entire family !!

Clean and Quiet
