About this property

Etna and Taormina House CoS

Our house is part of an ancient Palmento restored in 2013 according to traditional Etna local building techniques. You reach the house through a narrow picturesque “trazzera” (country road). The whole house has been entirely rebuilt and renovated, from grounds up; it is located in an extremely quiet area, no car traffic at all. Awesome views on the sea from one side and on the Etna mountain on the other with her typical lava made terraces.
The home we rent is adjoining the owners one. It has an independent access and private views. On the outside there is a private, elevated patio where one can have breakfast and enjoy the sea and mountain views.
The area around the house has a wide flower garden, fruit trees, olives, citrus, large trees. There is also a pool with solarium and open air showers.
By car you can visit many nearby famous tourist locations: Taormina and its Greek Theater, the Isola Bella beaches, the “Gole dell’ Alcantara”, the majestic Etna with its local villages that offer all year round local festivities and food fairs. Catania, Siracusa, Noto, Modica, Ragusa, Piazza Armerina are all within a day’s trip reach.

Cosy place off the beaten tracks

Excellent clean apartment in great condition with all commodities which are required. Really nice location up the hills with great view, huge garden and awesome pool. Also very nice hosts which are very helpful and could answer all questions.

Das Haus hat eine sehr schöne Lage. Es ist sehr hübsch eingerichtet und besonders toll ist der lange Pool mit wunderbarem Ausblick. Ebenfalls gibt es eine traumhafte Terrasse, auf der man gut verweilen kann. Der Anfahrtsweg ist etwas gewöhnungsbedürftigt, dann aber problemlos. Alles in allem zu empfehlen!

Detente absolue.

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre semaine dans cette maison. Le début n'a pas été facile car nous n'avions pas imaginé la position de cette location quand on s'aperçoit que le GPS ne trouve pas on comprend mieux ! Cependant on vient nous chercher pour y arriver la 1ère fois c'est parfait ! La maison est belle, piscine jardin, terrasse magnifique mais la route pour y accéder peut faire peur au début mais au vu de la tranquillité et des 15/20minutes à faire pour aller à la 1ere ville on accepte sans problème. Merci de nous avoir accueilli avec quelques produits frais cela nous a fait plaisir. Dommage que nous n'avons pas pu rencontré Mr Salvatore pour le remercier. Maison bien équipée (barbecue, transats, douche extérieure, lave-linge) manque quelques accessoires pour la cuisine mais rien de grave. Magnifique vue sur la mer et quand le ciel est dégagé sur les hauteurs on peut voir l'Etna. Nous avons passé une semaine comme on le souhaitait. Je recommande sans problème cette location.

Perfect peaceful retreat

What a find! What makes this place is the utter privacy with panoramic sea views one way and the brooding Etna the other. Gardens and pool area are utterly fabulous and hosts very welcoming and discreet. House is small but stylish and well-equipped. Will return.

Sehr schönes und reizvolles Ferienhaus in wunderschöner Lage

Schon zum dritten Mal haben wir hier unsere Ferien verbracht und bereit alles Gute aufgezählt, warum es sich lohnt, hier Urlaub zu machen. In diesem jahr mussten wir leider die Erfahrung machen, dass Sizilien im Mai auch kalt und regnerisch sein kann. Dafür ist dieses Haus eigentlich nicht gebaut und das mekrt man dann doch an der fehlenden Heizung. Dafür entschädigt die Lage und der einzigartige Garten um so mehr.

Gemischte Eindrücke

Gefallen hat uns der Aufenthalt nur teilweise. 1) Das Objekt wurde - nach vorheriger Anfrage - vom Vermieter als absolut ruhig beschrieben, das war leider nicht der Fall, am ersten Tag war das Grundstück über Stunden von Arbeiten mit der Motorsense beschallt. Ich schrieb eine EMail an den Vermieter, der Lärm wurde dann zunächst eingstellt - aber wir mußten einen Stundenplan erstellen, an dem wir Lärm zulassen. Diese Festlegung ist schon sehr einschränkend - zumal wir uns ein abgelegenes Objekt gesucht hatten, weil wir keine großen Unternehmungen vor hatten und sich auch nicht ganz eingehalten wurde. 2) Auch darf man 2 Aussentüren der Wohnung nicht öffnen, da die an vom Vermieter genutzte Bereiche angrenzen, auch sind diese notdürftig verhängt - entsprechend dunkel ist es in den Räumen. 3) Auch ist die Belastung durch Hunde ( 2 Hunde am Grundstück, in der Nachbarschaft und wilde Hunde ) nicht unherheblich - vor allem in den frühen Morgen und Abendstunden -> Der Vermieter muß sich entscheiden, ob er sein riesiges Grundstück maschinell bearbeiten will oder Feriengäste hat - beides zusammen geht nicht.

wunderschönes Ferienhaus in idyllischer Lage und mit tollen Vermietern

Das Ferienhaus ist über eine sehr schmale, unbefestigte Straße zu erreichen und liegt tatsächlich sehr abgelegen. Das erste mal ist der Weg schon etwas aufregend. Umso ruhiger und entspannter dann der Aufenthalt. Die Anlage ist sehr gepflegt, der Gärtner kommt regelmäßig, spricht deutsch und ist sehr hilfsbereit. Das Ferienhaus ist ausreichend groß für 2 Erwachsene mit 2 Kindern, sehr sauber und super gut sortiert. Alle Küchenutensilien waren da, inklusive Öl, Essig, Gewürze, Küchenrolle usw. Zur Begrüßung bekamen wir Wein, Brot, Kekse, Obst aus dem Garten, Honig. Der Pool war sehr schön und konnte tagsüber immer genutzt werden. Constanza und Salvatore waren immer da, dabei aber immer zurückhaltend und stets bemüht um unser Wohlergehen. Spektakulär war der Ausblick auf den Ätna von unserer Terrasse aus, so konnten wir beim Abendessen den Lavastrom beobachten. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Très belle maison

La maison et surtout la piscine sont vraiment très agréables avec une vue sur l'etna et la baie. Nous avons été très bien accueillis. Tout est très bien entretenu. Le jardin est vraiment magnifique. Un peu à l'écart mais le trajet vers les points principaux est tout à fait faisable. Merci pour tout.

Un très beau gîte, fonctionnel et propre, perdu sur un flanc de montagne, au cœur d'une propriété très bien entretenue à la végétation luxuriante. Calme et repos, piscine avec vue sur mer ! Une terrasse extrêmement agréable avec vue sur l' Etna et la mer avec les odeurs des citronniers ! Equipement, literie, linge de maison : impeccable Très bien situé pour des excursions à l'Etna, Taormine, Catane, Syracuse. Accueil chaleureux et bienveillant. Photos tout à fait conformes. Commerces de proximité à privilégier notamment la boucherie de Linguaglossa pour ses saucisses frappées ! Producteurs de fruits et légumes en bord de route vivement conseillés ! (nous n'avons pas mangé de fruits aussi bons depuis bien longtemps !) Pour les sommets de l'etna nous recommandons les guides de l'etna nord qui allient professionnalisme et passion. Voiture indispensable.

Großartig! Erholsam in wunderbarem Naturgarten

Dieses Haus liegt mit Blick auf das Meer und auf den Etna abseits der großen Straßen in einem ruhigen Tal. Die Ausstattung ist einfach und zweckmäßig, ein Pool lädt zum Baden ein. Der Blick geht über Avocado und Zitronenbäume und ein Gang durch den riesigen Garten sorgt für Erholung pur.

Magnifique propriété! C'est un lieu parfait pour le repos et la détente. La beauté attend chacun de vos regards. Un " je ne sais quoi" du passé accompagne vos pas dans le domaine. C'est un lieu extrêmement attachant. La piscine est sublime même en mai. Bravo aux propriétaires pour cette restauration effectuée avec confort dans l'esprit de la simplicité paysanne... Wunderschöne Tage in wunderschöner Lage!

Wir sind im Sept 17 zu viert in Constanzas und Salvatores kleinem Paradies gewesen. Pool, Unterkunft und Lage sind wunderschön. Constanza und Salvatore haben alles getan, um unseren Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich zu gestalten.

Stupore e sorpresa!

La casa di Costanza e Salvatore alle pendici dell’Etna è qualcosa di singolare, in un luogo speciale. Un posto che ci si abitua lentamente ad apprezzare, giorno dopo giorno, e alla partenza, non lo si vorrebbe più abbandonare. Vi abbiamo soggiornato una sola settimana in quattro, con le ns. bambine di 7 e 10 anni. Gli spazi sono comodi e muniti di ogni comodità come già descritto nelle altre recensioni. Molto apprezzato, lo spazio esterno con la pergola, dal quale è possibile ammirare la costa e il mare durante la colazione, mentre si cena o durante le calde sere d’estate con la sola luce delle candele. L’area circostante è in pendenza, completamente immersa nel verde e si sviluppa su piani terrazzati in pietra locale. La vegetazione è tipicamente mediterranea, con bellissime piante grasse, alberi di agrumi, avocado, uva,... Abbiamo trascorso momenti indimenticabili al bordo della piscina. A ns. parere lo spazio più bello in assoluto(!), appartato, dal quale come su di uno spalto si gode la vista verso il mare: argenteo al mattino, azzurro nelle giornate più limpide, più roseo la sera. L’Etna fumante, sempre vigile alle spalle. Veramente indescrivibile l'atmosfera nei momenti di assoluto silenzio. Ci si immerge nell’acqua che ha un’altezza costante di mt.1,40 attraverso una serie di piccoli ma profondi gradini. Il bordo scuro in pietra lavica e la pavimentazione del solarium in cotto molto comoda a piedi scalzi. Il fondale è di un colore verde-blù molto particolare che alla sola vista emette frescura. Consigliamo di cuore questa casa speciale.

Un petit paradis

Difficile de décrire un endroit aussi joli : la maison est aménagée avec goût, la piscine est exceptionnelle et les propriétaires d'une grande gentillesse. Beaucoup de choses à voir dans le coin : Etna, Taormine, Gorges de l'Alcantara ...La maison est isolée, une voiture est donc indispensable. On recommande vivement à toute personne qui aime le calme.

Magnifique séjour dans cette très belle propriété

Très bel emplacement entre mer et Etna, grande piscine (15 ou 18 mètres de long environ) avec vue sur la mer, dans une grande propriété fleurie et arborée. Terrasse très agréable dès le matin. Spacieux pour 4 personnes: 1 grande chambre et un salon avec mezzanine. Nous avons été très bien accueillis par Cristina; les propriétaires ayant été obligés de s'absenter. De l'eau, du vin, des biscuits, des fruits et du miel nous attendaient en guise de bienvenue ! Très sympathique!

Ein kleines Paradies

Das Haus liegt abseits in einem riesigen, sehr gepflegten Garten. es enthält alles, was man braucht, um zu entspannen und Sizilien zu genießen. Der Blick auf Meer und Ätna ist einfach umwerfend schön. Die Anlage ist gepflegt, die Besitzer sehr freundlich. Das kleines Häuschen bietet alle Annehmlichkeiten. Natürlich ist es im Sommer sehr heiß. Aber der Pool bietet da Abkühlung. Einziger kleiner Wermutstropfen ist ein nahe gelegener Steinbruch, der recht geschäftig ist. Ansonsten ist das Haus einfach wunderbar.

Die perfekte Wohung zum Abschalten

Die abgelegene traumhaft schöne Hangwohnung ist perfekt zum Abschalten und Erholen. Abgelegen von allem Trubel kann man die Landschaft mit dem Blick auf das Meer und die Natur geniessen. Die sehr saubere Wohung und der gepflegte Gartenbereich mit grossem Pool lassen keine Wünsche offen. Die Ferienwohnung ist überdurchschnittlich gut mit allen Kochutensilien ausgestattet. Zusätzlich wurden wir mit einem Willkommenswein und einer grossen Schale frischer Früchte aus dem Garten überrascht. Unsere Ansprechsperson war sehr nett und immer bei Fragen erreichbar. Das Haus liegt sehr ländlich ist aber für Ausflüge zum Ätna, Taormina oder Catania gut geeignet. Zum nächsten Supermarkt benötigt man ca. 15 Minuten. Der Aufenthalt dort kann man nur weiter empfehlen.

Du rêve et du repos, entre la mer et l Etna

La locations correspond aux photos proposées sur le site. Le logement est propre, très bien équipé et décoré avec goût. Pour notre arrivée, les propriétaires avaient déposé sur la table des spécialités locales comme du miel, des gâteaux, une bouteille de vin, des fruits de leur propriété...de l'eau dans le frigo. Les propriétaires sont accueillants, respectueux et serviables. Ils nous ont guidés pour organiser notre sortie sur l Etna, donner l information pour aller à une fête typique locale. Des documents sont à notre disposition pour découvrir la région. Nous avons passé un très bon séjour. Lecture, repas et repos sur une terrasse avec vue sur la mer et sur l Etna. Les journées se passent au choix entre la mer, les randonnées, le repos au bord de la très belle piscine ou les visites. La localisation permet des visites comme Taormina, Catania ou Syracusa. La réception de la wifi fi étaient très bonne, important quand on voyage avec une ado ! Nous recommendons vivement cette location, en espérant pouvoir y retourner un jour. Pascale et Fabrice

Costanza is now retired and used to manage a Service Agency. Salvatore is a Mechanical Engineer. We both live in Turin but Salvatore has Sicilian roots and we fell in love with the magic and the history of this land. We spend most of our time now in this house and we will be happy to welcome you personally. Costanza looks after the large and beautiful garden surrounding the house; she also enjoys revisiting old Sicilian cooking recipes. Salvatore manages the citrus garden and the Avocado plantation. When he is free he likes biking, skiing on the slopes of Etna and sailing his own little fishing boat, located in the nearby Riposto harbor. We have friends visiting from all over Italy and we love sharing our happy time here with them. We have two dogs but they have their own playing field.

Why they chose this property

The House is very big for us and provided for from the outset a small separate apartment. It makes us so happy to share the beauty of the place with those who want to learn about and appreciate these places and opportunities that offer
