Why Isabelle Messier chose Eygalières
In fact, we have not bought the house, we did it. My wife is Architect, I'm Engineer, we both love Provence and we decided with the combination of our competencies to build a typical Provencal Mas. We did it with our Heart for our future of our family and we decided to rent it for a certain period to partly absorb the costs. We have choosen to make the construction with stones, woods from the area. Often our Customers are telling us that this Mas Picholine is 'Authentic'. On the other side, you will get all the confort of a modern house with very high standards. Why this area : as described in the website, you have great opportunities in this Provence area with StRemy de Provence (VanGogh, Glanum archeology, artist town...), Avignon town, Nimes arenes, Alpilles wonderfull hills, famous provencal markets, olives trees... And a nice weather a large part of the year.
What makes this House unique
I think that's better to provide you comments from Customers; I advise you to look on some feedback from 3 of them : 1) USA/ Chicago - Kathleen and Dan - new year 2009 Gilles and Isabelle, We had a wonderful time at your home. The place was wonderful and surpassed our expectations. The town of Eygalieres was a great location at which to tour much of Provence. In addition, M. Maya was extraordinarily helpful. You are lucky to have someone like him to assist you with the house in your absence. It was a wonderful get away to welcome in the new year! A bientot, Kathleen and Dan 2) USA / New York - Danika - Aug 2009 Dear Gilles, Thank you for the gift bag! We are having a great time at the Mas.. It is fantastic in every way! The house is magnificent. The pool and gardens are perfect. The children are having a great time and have been reasonably well behaved. We only have one issue : we wish we had reserved for a longer time! We would gladly stay a second week if it was not already booked. Perhaps we will be back next year! Danika. Gaelle.

Fabulous home in a perfect location!
My three friends and I spent a week in early September at Mas Picholine, and it was just wonderful. we each had our own private bedroom with ensuite bathroom. All of the furnishings were very updated, and yet there were also decorative touches which added a very traditional charm and ambiance. We knew nothing about the little village of Eygalieres, but it turned out to be the perfect home base from which to do daily visits to Les Baux, Avignon and Isle sur la Sorgue. We had a rental car and it was very easy to navigate the surrounding countryside.
We used a wonderful guide named Claire Paris from the OnlyProvence Company who drove us to Gordes, Gault, Rousillion, etc. Although these villages were very charming, driving in and out from there would have been much more treacherous. When Claire brought us back to Mas Picholine the two times we used her, we all commented about how grateful we were to have a location that was so much easier to navigate. And then there were two local restaurants we loved, which we visited five times -- Gilles on the main street of Eygalieres and L'Aubergine on a side street. We thought the food and service at both places were just outstanding, and we especially enjoyed the house gin and tonics at L'Aubergine's.
I think we're all hoping to win a US lottery someday soon so we can return to Provence, Eygalieres . . . and Mas Picholine.
We stayed here in September with our large, three generation family. The property is just faultless. We have rented similar standard properties in France for several years now and this was is up there with the very best and represents value for money. Very safe for young children. Plenty of privacy but just a short walk into the village. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend or return!
Thank you Amy for your kind review!
Absolutely perfect provencial home!
Beautiful house in a beautiful village. Absolutely perfect for two families. Gilles has thought of everything to make a traveler feel right at home!
This was our first stay at the Mas de Picholine and it did not disappoint. Nestled in the small village of Eygalieres the house offered modern amenities with a traditional Provençal feel. Even though we came "off season" our young children enjoyed the scenery as well as the pool area. The house was within walking distance to the village and many other recommend sights / villages including "les baux" we're all a short distance away. The owner and his staff were very communicative and answerd questions Ina timely manner. All in all a great property that we will no doubt visit again in the future.....
We had a wonderful stay at Mas Picholine for the week of 11-18 June, 2011. The villa was beautiful...with everything needed for a fabulous family vacation for our family of 5. Eygalieres is a beautiful village, lovely restaurants and stores....all within walking distance. A great base to explore the region. We would LOVE to come back!!!
The mas Picholine was everything we had excpected. The house was charming and well situated in a very calm neighborhood. Everything was decorated in good taste to the tiniest detail.
We had a lovely stay and wish we could still be there!
