Private Beach Rights on Lake Michigan - Short Stroll to most beautiful beach

SATURDAY-SATURDAY in Summer
Private Beach rights in Gowdy Shores on Lake Michigan. Location on VRBO is incorrect. You do not need to use the crowded public Townline Beach; our home has private association beach rights. It is about a 4-5 minute walk or a 2 minute bike ride with the bikes we provide. The first floor features an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings, skylights and hardwood floors. There is a living room with stone fireplace, dining room that seats ten and a kitchen with granite counter tops that seats four. The first floor also has a large screened-in porch that leads to the backyard stone patio, fire pit, grill and sand volleyball court. Two bedrooms (one with queen size bed and access to the porch and one with bunk beds with trundle), one full bathroom (shower) and one half bath with pedestal sink are also located on the first floor. There is also a washer/dryer. (see below for 2nd floor description.)




Second floor: The second floor consists of a large secluded bedroom with a queen size bed, a daybed with trundle and an attached full bath(shower). Both bed and bath have skylights. The private balcony off the bedroom overlooks the tree filled backyard/patio/fire-pit/volleyball court of the property and is perfect for morning coffee.

Thick bath towels, memory foam topped beds with high thread count sheets and brand new bedding are also provided.

This three bedroom two and a half bath home comfortably sleeps 9. Additionally, there are 2 pack& plays with sheets for infants. It is perfect for one or even two small families and is very kid friendly (complete with sand volleyball court). It is also perfect for a romantic getaway or a girls weekend.
The setting is peaceful on this wooded lot on a quiet century old tree lined road that leads straight to the beach. The local bakery, deli, gelato shop, restaurants and grocer are within walking or biking distance. Use the bicycles provided it will take about 4 minutes.


We have tried to think of everything to make your stay extra special and comfortable and your packing to be as easy as possible. All you need is your bathing suit and food - we will provide the rest including beach chairs, beach towels, umbrella, cooler with wheels, bicycles, wagon and beach toys.

If staying during the fall/winter months enjoy great nature walks right outside the front door or through Warren Woods. Both are great places to go cross country skiing. You can also sled down Warren Dunes or down hill ski at one of the many Michigan ski resorts approximately one hour away. If you don't feel like going anywhere, enjoy the wood burning fireplace in the living room and snuggle in bed under the down filled comforters provided.

We had an amazing stay at this beach house! The location couldn’t be better—just two blocks from the beach and a short walk to downtown Union Pier’s charming coffee shops and gelato. The house itself was cozy, comfortable, and perfect for our family’s summer getaway. We especially enjoyed relaxing in the backyard, riding the bikes provided, and using the beach chairs for our days by the water. Everything we needed for a fun and relaxing trip was right there. We can’t wait to come back!

We were very comfortable. The property was charming with plenty of activities. It took our group with young children 10-15 minutes to walk to the private community beach from the house. It was great that there were chairs already at the beach! We very much enjoyed our stay.

Perfect House for a Getaway!

The house is adorable! The main room is even cuter in person and is a great open space where your family can hang out. The kids loved the bunk beds and the ping pong in the garage. Just a short walk to the beach and fully stocked garage with beach chairs, bikes and toys! Firepit setup is great too! Look forward to coming back to enjoy the area again in the future! Highly recommend!

Family Reunion at the Lake

Such a great house! Perfect for our group. Kitchen and open concept family room are prefect for cooking, entertaining and hanging out as a big group. Bedrooms were cozy and clean. Screened in porch was a great place for sipping morning coffee. The yard was also a big plus. Volleyball games by day and fire pit by night. My kids loved the tire swing out front. Really the perfect place for us. Can’t wait to come back next year!

Gorgeous home!

We rented this gorgeous home for a family vacation with our young daughters, ages 8, 7 & 4. The girls loved staying in the room with the bunk bed & trundle so that they could all stay together, all of the yard toys and beach toys. We found that we had everything that we needed for a very comfortable stay while we were there and enjoyed the home so much that we only went out to each twice while we were there. The private beach area was only a short walk down the street so we went down there daily and often went back in the evening to enjoy the unbelievable sunsets! We also loved the time we spent together in the screened in porch, reading and playing checkers. The owner was lovely throughout our week, making sure that we were having a nice time.

A Union Pier cottage WOW!

Everything at MIna and Peter's property was 5-star but also managed to look classic Union Pier beach cottage. The beds were super comfy, and there were plenty of absorbent towels. The kitchen and dining area had more utensils and dinnerware than any other vacation rental we've stayed at, so far. More games than could be played in a single visit filled the corner cabinet. Many bikes and beach equipment were found in the garage. Our grandchildren quickly found out what fun a tire swing could be, and it was not even plugged in to a screen. Thanks, Mina and Peter for helping us make positive holiday memories!

Bright and sunny lake cottage

We just came back from our second stay at this cozy (yet spacious) and charming lake cottage. We love this home for its comfortable and sunny decor, it’s relaxing and airy screen in porch and it has the best backyard my 11 year old son and his buddy could hope to find on vacation. We spent a lot of time playing volleyball and badmitton along with other sports in the yard. The tire swing was a big hit too! The home is stocked with anything you might need from the kitchen to linens to a garage full of beach supplies. The private beach itself is lovely and a short 7-8 minute walk down a peaceful lane. It’s also within walking distance to one of our favorite bakeries and a small grocery. Mina, the owner, was very responsive to any questions and was accommodating to our last minute booking. We’re looking forward to renting the cottage again and would enthusiastically recommend it!

Wonderful getaway stay by the beach

We picked this property for our annual family get-together at this property on Memorial Day weekend and had a wonderful stay. The property is amazing. Great kitchen, fully stocked with all the tools, appliances, and major staples you need. We all loved the light in the living room during the day and the house looks so pretty after dark. The rooms and beds are comfy. Beyond comfort, the decoration is pleasing to the eye and the soul. The property is fully equipped for all kinds of family entertainment: two baskets full of books, board and card games, and movies. The weather was gorgeous during our stay so we enjoyed the screened porch, backyard setup, grill and firepit, and beach volley area. Kids spent hours in the garage playing ping pong. The garage was full of bikes, a wagon, beach toys, beach umbrella and inflatables. The beach is within 5-7 minutes' walking distance. Their private beach still has a good amount of sandy area between the dunes and the lake despite the erosion in other areas. We enjoyed the beach during the day and, of course, the sunset. We walked to Blackcurrant bakery one morning and their baked goodies were yummy. Overall, it was a great and memorable stay. We're adding this property to our favorites for future getaways and get togethers.

Check in process was easy. House is a 5 minute walk to private beach. Kids had a great time in sand volleyball area, hammock, and tire swing. There are 3 exterior cameras on the property you should be aware of. It took some getting used to especially when you knew they were on, and this is even when we had nothing to hide! There’s a convenient hose/water area outside where you can rinse all the sand off. Neighborhood is quiet.

Why they chose this property

Our neighborhood feels like you have stepped back to a simpler time. It is so peaceful and the century year old trees that shade the short walk to the lake make it magical. The beach has the softest sand and the best sunsets anywhere. The little local shops and the farmers market nearby are quaint and convenient. It is a place to walk or ride one of our bikes where everyone is so friendly.
