About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, Den with sofa bed, 2 Baths, Outdoor shower, (Sleeps 8)

Welcome to paradise! Pelican Perch is a spacious three-bedroom, two-bath house, located at 110 Pelican Drive on a canal and a quiet cul-de-sac at the desirable north end of the island. The comfortable, cheerful house is a great location - just a short walk to uncrowded, powder-sand beaches, excellent restaurants, shops on Pine Avenue, and two fishing piers - City Pier and the Rod & Reel Pier.

At Pelican Perch, you’ll find 3 bedrooms, a large living room, a den with a sofa bed, 2 full baths, a dining room and a fully-equipped kitchen. The house has a very open floor plan and numerous seating and dining areas. The dining room has double doors that open onto a porch with a seating area that overlooks the private, heated pool and canal. There is a master suite with a queen bed and adjoining bathroom, one bedroom with 2 twin beds, one bedroom with a queen and a twin bed, and a den with a new queen pullout couch.

Out back, enjoy the huge private lanai with a lovely heated pool, a large outdoor dining area, a ceiling fan, numerous lounge chairs, a charcoal grill, and an enclosed outdoor shower. Bring your boat! The private dock has a boat-lift and a counter for preparing fish. It is a perfect place for fishing, launching your kayak, and sipping your morning coffee. You may even see a manatee swim by.

The house is fully equipped with all the comforts of home including free wifi, four televisions with cable, a DVD player and games including an X-Box. For your beach enjoyment, there are beach towels, beach chairs, umbrellas, beach toys, and a pushcart.

Take a short stroll, ride a bike or kayak to the northern tip of the island, where you'll have a magnificent view of Tampa Bay meeting the Gulf of Mexico - it is common to see dolphins playing. There is a short trail near the house that takes you to tranquil Bayfront Park Beach. Evenings are especially beautiful with the soft sound of the birds and breathtaking sunsets. Rent bikes, kayaks, and golf carts (rental companies deliver for free) or take the free trolley and explore the 7-mile long island (the trolley stop is just a short walk from the house at the City Pier).

You’ll never want to leave!

Great location, amenities and screened-in pool!

  • 5 of 5

This is a tough one for me to review. Honestly we were a little disappointed when we arrived; however, I think our expectations were unrealistic, which is why I decided that a 5 star rating is still very appropriate.

Pros: The overall value of this property is very good. The screened-in pool area and the pool itself is absolutely fabulous. We had a lot of rain and it was so nice that the kids could enjoy the pool b/t downpours. We were thankful for the large screened-in area to enjoy the outside w/o mosquitos. The outside shower was wonderful. My 8 yo son LOVED the X Box - great on total rain-out day. Would recommend to have a few games rated E, most were T. Loved the board games too! The canal access is fabulous. We didn't take full advantage - next time we would fish and rent kayaks. It really is a bonus to be on a canal and this property has great access. All beds in both bedrooms on the left of the hall were very comfortable and all linens were nice. Master bed was not as comfortable for us. The kitchen had everything that we needed and the cabinets and drawers were clean. Loved having a washer and dryer! Good beach equipment (umbrella is broken though), and lots of nice beach towels.

Cons: Tried several contact numbers to confirm WIFI - left vms and texts and not one person responded. Glad no major issues! Unrealistically we pictured a luxurious, cozy, modern home. This property is charming and very practical for a family, but not what I would consider cozy or romantic. It smelled like an old home (although we stopped noticing the smell after a few days). The floors were filthy -hair & dust bunnies on the stairs and in the hall and bath. Some towels were sour, so we washed them all when we arrived. Property needs a deep cleaning. The living room TV area & game area was a mess -dust bunnies and books, magazines, old brochures & games just crammed & piled. We actually reorganized some b/c it drove us crazy. Seems silly but the light switches were confusing. We were there for days before we saw the light for the pool in the kitchen. There were many lights that we wanted to turn on that we never found, or maybe they were burnt out. All ceiling fans made a terrible scraping noise. A hammock or swing would be a wonderful relaxing addition near the pool. The grounds were bare- some landscaping would add coziness. Overall we grew to love this property. We love the north end of AMI. We would absolutely stay here again.

The house was just what we needed. There was plenty of room and the pool and canal dock in back got plenty of use for fishing and kayaks.

Wonderful month on the Island

  • 5 of 5

Our stay on Anna Maria Island at Pelican Perch was great.

The island is fantastic, the house was very accommodating.

The rooms are large, the screened in pool area a plus. The only thing missing is access to a bathroom in the pool area. The quiet neighborhood was nice. We swam in the pool every day, and went to the beach most days. Watching the dolphin, sunsets and turtle nests along the Gulf can not be beat.

Fantastic!

  • 5 of 5

This was our 4th stay at 110 Pelican and we weren't disappointed. It is immaculately clean and the owners are accessible, should you have any questions. The setting is perfect, near Bean Point and the Bay, and right on a canal. Love it. Are going back next year!!!
