The Coastal Cabana is a newly constructed home, located on a private road off the hiway . We are right on the river with three bedrooms, two baths, and a huge front deck. Our new fishing and crabbing pier is ready to make vacation memories to last a lifetime. Enjoy cooking upstairs in the full kitchen or grilling downstairs on our cowboy grill or propane grill. Enjoy cool breezes bug free in the new screened area downstairs! The house includes three large bedrooms, two baths with walk in showers and an open kitchen and living area.
Please note, boat lift is not included in the rental.

Best dock on the river!

The family and I had a blast! This was my fourth trip to Matagorda and hands down the nicest place and best time my family and I had. We will definitely be back

Beautiful Home-Perfect Location!

This home is beautiful and exactly as shown on VRBO. The location was perfect for access to the Matagorda Harbor. We were going on a guided fishing trip during our stay, but unfortunately my husband became very ill. Our friends and I made the most of the weekend even though things didn’t go as planned. We will be rescheduling our trip and will definitely stay in this house again. Loved it so much!!

Labor Day weekend trip

We had the best time at this location! The owner was very involved in making sure we knew where the fish were biting! The fishing was great off the dock! The house was just awesome! We are planning our next trip in the Spring!

Wonderful Place

This house is probably the best house my family and I have stayed at in a long time and everything you need plus more is provided! The beds were so comfortable and the A/C was the greatest thing as we were in a heat advisory during our stay and kept the house cold the entire time when we needed to get cooled down and head back out out to fish and crab. So many fish of all different species were caught too. My family really enjoyed our stay. Definitely would go back again for another stay!

Great place to stay!

This will be the place I always stay when visiting Matagorda. Large, spacious and super clean. The kids loved the bunkbeds! Adults loved the king bedroom as well as the queen. There were more amenities than what can possibly be listed, a lot more than what most places provide. The outdoor area is the best! Very large screened in area, lighted pier, large grill and even crab traps. The traps provided hours and hours of fun for the kids as well as dinner. I will be staying here again.

Awesome for families!

I can’t say enough good things about our stay! Despite being a few days out from a devastating hurricane this place was super clean and perfect in every way. This is the perfect place for families. The living spaces are all huge, very large screened in area that could easily and comfortably fit 25+ people. Host provided everything you could possibly need and more. Pier and dock are great, with fish cleaning table and lighting. Communication with host was great and they are super sweet. I will recommend this place to everyone!

Great place, super clean and exactly as described. Definitely bring extra bugspray, mosquitoes at least when we were there.

Beach, river, bay fishing. We did it all and had a lovely, relaxing stay at the Coastal Cabana!!

Family trip with the adult kids, new wife and the youngest kiddo (7). The coastal cabana had everything we needed for some salty air fun. The family enjoyed every aspect of this property. Many fish caught off the dock, including a $700 rod that was pulled out of the holder while no one was within reach.The fire pit grilled some amazing dinners and also warmed ourselves in the late hours of fishing and fun. The pole holders everywhere were a plus as we had a bunch. The ac is cold and living room recliners are so comfy. All the beds were comfortable and fantastic showers. Tommy was great with answering questions quickly and provided all the info we needed. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. We will certainly start here again.

Spring fishing

We came to fish and brought our boat, being able to tie up to the dock for the weekend was nice. Bumpers are provided… The lights on the dock made nighttime fishing fun. The house is very nice and clean. Definitely will stay here again!

Such a GREAT House!!

We loved this house!! It was one of the best places we’ve stayed in a long time. It was super clean & cozy - the decor is very well done with artwork & wonderful pictures - something I always look for when renting a home. The kitchen is well equipped w everything u could possibly need! The Pier for us, was one of our favorite features. We caught a few fish and loved sitting in the morning w our coffee out there. Built a couple huge fires in the FirePit - it was wonderful. Can’t say enough great things about Tommy, your Host. He was attentive to my many questions and gave us some great tips about fishing holes right out front. His communication was prompt and he helped us immensely with our scheduling. Theres good Hosts & then there’s Great Hosts - he’s the latter for sure and, we appreciated everything he did for us! This is definitely a home we will come back to and highly recommend!! Between how great the house was & Tommy - it’s a place to return to! It’s a very special home and, we can’t wait to come back!!

The Purple House

5 stars from my family on this house. We’ve been going to Matagorda for 20 plus years and stayed in all sorts of houses and this one checks all our boxes. We will be back. Tommy was great and his neighbors to the south was the nicest man. Thank you!

A great find!

A wonderful place for the whole family. Only a few minutes at most from the beach and it’s walking distance to Snappers. Super close to Stanley’s and a great fishing dock. The house was so clean, the owner is extremely friendly and down to earth. It’s obvious they love the water and want to share that same enjoyment with others. The recommendations were really nice as well. FaceTimed my mom while we were there and will be going down again with her to the Coastal Cabana. I don’t see us going anywhere else to the island because why fix something that ain’t broke. In other words, we are coming back!!!!! I really loved that I could lock the upstairs gate to the dock and my 2 year old couldn’t get out!😂 she’s a master climber and can figure out how to get out and she couldn’t with that. So, definitely great for kids and for the old folks! Thanks again for letting us stay at your residence.

Perfect Spot, Will Be Renting Again

The property was perfect! It’s on a nice, quiet road off the main highway. Most of the houses in Matagorda are right off the highway. It was also walking distance to a little outdoor bar & grill that had an outdoor playground. We ate there for lunch and would let the kids play. We could walk over and go get adult drinks whenever we wanted. The house itself was super clean and kid friendly! There’s been several places where I had to pick up breakables and remember to move them before we left or block off certain parts of the house. I have a 2-year-old and 3 school-aged kids. I didn’t have to do that here. The showers were awesome! The kids were amazed by the size and actually asked to shower every night. Lol. And the screened-in area downstairs: GENIUS! I could actually be outside with the family while they fished off the dock without having to worry about my 2-year-old falling in the water. Needless to say, we had the best time, and we’ll definitely be renting this one again! Also, the owner was very courteous and helpful. (:

Another great stay

This was our third stay at the Coastal Cabana. Perfect experience from beginning to end once again. The owner, Tommy, was awesome, with helpful tips from crabbing to catching bait to places to eat. He was very quick to respond when I texted him with questions. The house is spacious and immaculate, with everything we needed including cookware, fish cleaning station, great AC!!, screened-in outdoor lower level, balcony that is perfect for coffee and boat watching in the morning and beautiful sunsets in the evening. The washer/dryer were certainly appreciated as well. The location couldn’t be better either; literally just seconds by boat to Wayne’s bait camp, with easy access to West Bay, and a very short drive to the beach. Feels like home away from home. Will definitely be back!
