The biggest disappointment for us was that there was not a 2 minute walk to the beach. The walking area was under water. The place was very clean but we didn’t like having to walk downstairs to use the bathroom from the living space. The mosquitoes were awful outside so we couldn’t sit on the porch. Overall it was okay.
Perfect property for weekend getaway. Walking distance to beach was short. Very clean.

Thank you for taking time to leave a review, we value your feedback. We are pleased you had a nice visit, and hope you will return to St. Simons Island again soon.
Everything as advertised. A short walk to the beach and deck above were certainly a plus. Bedrooms on first level are cool and dark; nice gathering space on second floor near kitchen. Plenty of tables/chairs to spread out. Would be great for a family. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Wonderful! We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay with us on Saint Simons Island! Thank you for your kind review. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon!
A very well equipped condo with a fantastic location. Literally a 2min walk to the beach. Overall the condo was very clean, had every possible thing one needs in a getaway but maybe a little dated. The place is 5 mins away from the Pier, where all the restaurants are. It's an excellent place for a family trip! We will love to be back at some point

Thrilled you enjoyed the fabulous home and location as much as we do! We look forward to welcoming you back soon!
Condo is very, very dated. It just felt icky and gross. Thankfully we were only there for 4 days. Beach access was the main thing it had going for it.

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate it. I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us at this property. We are discussing making some updates with the owner of the unit. We do hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back again soon!
Great little unit just a very short walk from beach access. We had direct family plus grandparents, so 3 young kids + 4 adults total. Sleeping quarters were a little tight for that number of people, but we fully expected that going in based on the description & pictures. This unit would be perfect for a single family w/ a few kids (our 2 youngest loved the bunk bed setup off the second bedroom). Unit was older, but very clean and had plenty of character. Would definitely book again for a relaxing, long weekend.

Awesome! So happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us on Saint Simons Island! We look forward to welcoming you back again soon!
We had a very good experience at this property. The location was great, close to the beach as well as restaurants and the village. It was pretty much exactly as advertised in the listing.
The bedrooms and bathrooms are downstairs while the living and dining areas are upstairs. The upstairs area was large and great for socializing and the decks (including the rooftop) were nice to sit out on to enjoy the view (partial view of the ocean).
As far as amenities, the unit was well appointed with everything we needed, particularly in the kitchen area so that was nice. The check-in/check-out process was seamless and the password controlled door lock worked like a charm.
The property manager was excellent, providing regular communications from the time we booked through check-out.
In terms of improvement, the sliding glass door to get to the deck was sticking pretty badly and made a grating noise each time we went out there. Also, the decks (front and back) had wasps that seemed to have a nest inside the railing.
Another comment I'll make for prospective renters was that I had elderly parents visiting us while we were down there and the steep stairs were difficult for them so if mobility is an issue for you, then you may want to reconsider this particular unit.
I would definitely feel comfortable recommending this unit and would not hesitate to stay there again next time I'm on SSI!

Liked: Check-in, communication
Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
Underwhelmed
Pros: cold a/c, HOT water, comfortable beds, updated showers, working appliances except the dryer (took 3 cycles to dry), games and books available in dining area
Cons: OUTDATED, all sliding doors were so difficult to open/close, "enclosed porch" with the bunk beds was NOT usable not only b/c of extremely small size but once the slider was closed there was no ventilation and our children were too scared to sleep in there, the crow's nest had a rusted chain across it that we couldn't undo so we had to climb over and once we got up there we had NO view b/c every other property surrounding this aged building were more than 3 stories high, the front door was the only access/exit b/c the back porch entrance was pad locked. I mention for safety & b/c we didn't really have a way to control the sand being brought into the house. The walk to the rear of the property to use the outside shower (no foot spray) then walk back made us dirty/sandy again.
*The amount I paid for the week here was similar to Hilton Head last summer at such an amazing property.
Note: This isn't something the property owner could control and they did spray around the front door after a couple days but we were swarmed and "eaten alive" by mosquitoes from the moment we arrived until we left. The walk to the beach got to be so miserable we ended up leaving a day early.
Also be prepared that the water has a sulfur smell. The inside water is mild but the outside shower is very strong.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, location
Great location but dated.
I’ll start off with the positives: amazing location, super comfy master bathroom, laundry in master bathroom, private balcony big enough to seat four more than comfortably, plenty of kitchen serving items and plates, glasses etc. convenient parking for two cars. Newer W/D. for the not as positive….I had a tough time getting Check-in instructions several phone calls and then a call to Vrbo to help gave me a third number… that was a little frustrating. The unit itself is dated. We went grocery shopping before checking in and while unloading groceries we see a sign that says the oven doesn’t work and won’t be fixed during our stay. That was hungry disappointing as I made two meals ahead of time, and then bought more to make easy sheet dinners. I hate wasting food but we did. That to me is a basic need and the reason why I don’t stay in hotels. The microwave is too small to cook a bag of popcorn fully. The toaster oven is small and the door is broken so you had to hold it closed while it toasted. No spices (not nec a neg but good to know) the couches are great size but completely worn out and very uncomfortable. The unit itself is very dated. Clean but really dated and extremely cluttered with “stuff”. The owner woke us up one morning trying yo get in the unit and scared me to death. No warning at all. She said she didn’t k ow anyone was there? Not sure how that could happen. The bedrooms are downstairs and living area up stairs. If my elderly parents were there they would have a really tough time because the first few are steep. No beach towels or beach amenities like chairs were available… I feel like with some new paint and replacing some of the furniture (and removing a bunch of decor), fixing the kitchen they could charge much more. We spent more time in the unit as the weather wasn’t great so I’m sure some of this would have been less of an issue if we were out of the house more. At any rate it was clean and the bed was comfy. The biggest bummer was the stove! I’m still mad I had to throw away the lasagna!

We are so sorry that we missed the mark on your stay with us! We aim to provide excellent service and I apologize that you ran into so many issues. We appreciate all of your feedback on the unit and will try to resolve the problems that you encountered. A new oven was just installed today. Not in time to save your lasagna and I understand that is frustrating! We hope that you will give us another chance and allow us to host you again in the future!
