Harbor Country Cottage with private beach access

Well appointed cottage features 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, kitchen/lounge, screened in porch and shared firepit.
Cottage guests have access to 200 feet of private beach and sand dunes on Lake Michigan, as well as 30 acres of conservation protected wooded trails.
This cottage is part of our Retreat Center. The beach is a a 20 minute minute walk through the woods that most people can do. The path takes you through the woods, over a creek and onto the sandy beach. Our beach is to the left, and abuts Warren Dunes State Park.
Area attractions include endless days at the beach, local farms and orchards, a lively local food scene, world class breweries and wineries, and vibrant arts and culture.

At this time, Michigan state and our county do not have any restrictions on travelers. However, we are committed to keeping our community safe and healthy. Because of this, we are not accepting reservations from folks who reside in any states that have a Risk Level of Active or Imminent Outbreak, as listed on Covidactnow.org.

Nice stay during quarantine...

The cabin is nice and clean... we liked the fact that there was a private beach but the trail to get there not good for small children or older adults... parts of the trail were a cumbersome.

Cozy cottage in a beautiful setting

The location is amazing. The property is situated on a kind of campground with huge amounts of forest, a large field, a playground, and more. Also visitors can walk down to the warren dunes beach. Rrcommended.

Awesome Retreat

We absolutely loved our time here. The place is very nice! We loved the screened deck and the front porch! We however did not get any signal and the wifi wasn’t always easy to connect to. With that being said, it was so nice to unplug!! There’s also the beach and a cute downtown nearby! I would 100% recommend going here!!

Perfect getaway

After undergoing a heart transplant surgery, it was important to find a place to stay that was clean and accommodating for my first outing. Our stay at this cottage surpassed my expectations and I am overjoyed to know I have found somewhere that I can go without worry! The kindness and beauty that our host, cottage, and trip entailed was beyond wonderful and I can’t wait to come back to the beach and cottage that hold my heart.

Great summer getaway

We really enjoyed our stay here. The other groups staying nearby and shared fire pit gave it a campy feel. The playground was a nice touch for our 2 and 5 year olds. The cabin was not fancy but clean and cute. It is a hike down the road to the beach, but as long as you’re prepared for that, it’s fine! There are easy well-marked trails on the property and we spotted deer and wild turkeys! Glad we found this place!

Great family stay

We enjoyed this comfortable cottage for the week. The walk to the beach was pretty easy for us. The cottage was clean and recently redone. The area was peaceful and safe. Our children loved the playground and I loved the watch them from the front porch.

Fall Getaway

My husband, son (almost 3), and I had a wonderful time staying here. The cabin was clean. The facilities offered a playground, great hiking, and a fire pit. Wildlife was abundant and fun to watch. The walk to the beach was quick and easy. We are already thinking about a family gathering for the summer. The staff was friendly, responsive, and available if needed.

A Bit of Serenity

The cottage is located within a church conference center, in the midst of beautiful woods. It is a easy and very nice walk to the beach, you go through Warren Dune State Park. The beach was beautiful, its a great stretch of beach along Lake Michigan. The cottage was very clean, great to have two bathrooms, a nice screened in porch, but my favorite spot was the front porch which had sun all day long. This spot is nice for all age groups, and would be a great spot for family gatherings especially during the pandemic, since there are multiple cottages and you could gather safely. Very lucky to have found it and hope that I will be back, with more of my family!!

Simple & Peaceful Family Getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at Tower Hill cottage. We had 4 little kids from 1-5, we were able to just hang out and let them play at the little playground across the road without worry. We had all that we needed, we were surprised by no TV but we enjoyed not having one. We saw several deer wondering around the property. I found the walk to the beach to be enjoyable, a short walk down the street and a simple hike through the woods that comes out to picturesque sandy dunes. I carried a 1 year old, backpack, and beach toys and the 2,3, and 5 year old were able to walk themselves. Everyone was super friendly at Tower Hill, passing by and asking how everything was going. Less than a mile up the road is an amazing fresh food market where we stocked up on fruit multiple times. The entrance to Warren Dunes is just slightly past that with a famous ice cream shop across the road from the park entrance. Seriously all you need in a few mile radius: cottage, beach, park, fresh Michigan fruit and veggies, and ice cream!! It is also in a great spot to travel to other beach towns, we visited both New Buffalo and St Joseph which were only 20-30 min drives. This was a vacation that everyone enjoyed grandma, mothers, and kids! A little more about the cottage: loved that there were two full bathrooms. The fireplace is in the middle of 4 cottages to share, we never used it due to time but would be nice in the cooler evenings. There are some charcoal grills available as well. We cooked in the kitchen or ordered food. You will want to bring your own seasonings/cooking oil/butter. It is a quiet place on the edge of a state park, if your wanting a retreat from busy life then this is it!!

Just what we needed!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The place was the right size for what we were doing this weekend and what we had planned. The property was very accommodating for things I thought I needed and didn't end up needing, for example, I didn't realize until just before the stay the fire pit was a community pit, and at first I was a little disappointed, it was NOT an issue and we really enjoyed sharing the pit! BUT FYI when I first shared my disappointment, they offered me another fire pit to use for my family. We are already talking about coming back next summer and trying to make it an annual family trip :)

We had a fabulous time! The accommodations were comfortable and very functional. We lived on the side porch. Perfect for this time of year. Hiking in the woods was one of our favorite activities as well as going to the beach. We will be back!

Clean, but not much space to lounge indoors.

This place does sleep 8 and is very clean with updated bathrooms and central air, however there is only room for 1 person to sit comfortably inside the house. There is a screened in porch with a table and chairs, but it is butted up against two other properties so there is no privacy. There is a firepit, but it is a community firepit. It states that there is a private beach, but it is a 20 minute walk when I was expecting it to be much closer to the property. We ended up only staying 1 night instead of the 3 nights that we paid for, so we felt gypped and misled after spending so much money. This property would be great for very social people who don't plan on spending much time indoors.

Clean, family-friendly property.

In summary, we had a wonderful time here and appreciate the quick drive to wineries, restaurants and to the beach. Although some visitors' comments alluded to this, we did not catch it in the description - the property's access to the private beach is not easy. The property is also part of a larger retreat center, so is positioned very closely to other homes - it is a camp-type feel. Which, we came to appreciate, but were surprised by this upon arrival. The home is very clean, well-maintained and there's a wonderful screened in patio as well as a front porch. Would definitely stay here again, now that we know what to expect!

Enjoyed our stay

Cute little cottage. Looked to be newly updated. Very comfortable and clean. The walk to the beach was a little further than expected but very pretty. Beautiful sand and water. Would definitely come back.

Cute cottage

We stayed here on a girls weekend and had a really great time! The cottage was clean, super cute, and cozy. There was a nice fire pit with a container of wood as well as a grill. Everything was exactly as listed. However, we did think that the beach was closer than it actually was. The trail to the beach was a little rough and you would have a difficult time carrying a cooler, beach bag, and chair all the way to the beach. We walked, but more like hiked it one day and the next day we drove about 2 minutes to the state park and parked right at the beach. The beach was beautiful and the bathrooms were very clean. Tracy, the owner, was very kind, knowledgeable, and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again.
