My grandfather, from Invercargill, purchased the land, and built the original holiday house on this site in the mid 1930's. It remained in the family until 2004 when the top half of the house was moved to Cromwell, a nearby town, where it is still in family ownership. The current block of apartments was built at that time and the family retained ownership of this one. It is still used mainly as a family holiday place, with the original owner's great, great grandchildren now enjoying holidays here.
I too, grew up in Invercargill but now live in Christchurch, having lived overseas for a couple of periods. Wherever we have moved, Queenstown has always been the constant. My sister is still in Invercargill and we each have a child living in Queenstown. These two will be your contacts, during your stay.
