We had a wonderful stay at A Stone's Throw! The house was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. One of our favorite features was the dock. It was spacious enough for everyone to spread out, relax, swim, and enjoy the lake. We spent a lot of time there throughout our stay. The kitchen was by far the best-stocked vacation rental kitchen we've ever used. It had everything we needed to prepare meals, along with an impressive selection of cookware, utensils, and kitchen essentials. It's rare to find a rental where you don't have to improvise, but this home truly had it all. We would definitely stay here again!

Our family had an amazing weekend at A Stone's Throw! We thoroughly enjoyed the various places to relax outdoors, including the boat dock, fire pit area, hot tub, deck, and patios. Excellent hosts! The house is well-equipped and the amenities made the trip more enjoyable for the family. We would not hesitate to stay here in the future or recommend to friends and family.

This property was a large home that had everything we needed. We really enjoyed being on the dock all day, and being by the fireplace at night. We would recommend this home for a great time on the lake

Great Lake Home!

Beautiful log home on a nice cove off the main lake. Our favorite part of the stay was the covered dock with a large screen TV with a nice sound system and internet connectivity. The boat lift could easily handle our boat. Nice quiet cove where we could swim to the opposite side of the cove.

Lake Gaston 2025

This home is absolutely amazing. We stay at a different lake evey year and this place was by far the best. We spent most of our time on the dock and it had everything. (Boat lift, TV, Sound Bar, Lounge Chairs, Fireplace, Table and Chairs, Bar Area and a Refrigerator.) The owners were very freindly and accommodating. We will definitely be back here again.

Family trip

A Stones Throw was the perfect home for our family vacation! Nestled in a quieter cove so no worries about big boat waves for the little ones swimming… but mostly just the thoughtful touches provided by owner was exceptional! Everything we could have needed was provided from kitchen utensils to comfy throws to snuggle in on our one rainy day…. It really is the perfect place for us! You’ll want for nothing at this home!

The Best Vacation

This property had it all. We thoroughly enjoyed staying at A Stone's Throw. It had everything a guest would need. Our favorite was the outside areas from the fireplace, the boat dock, the top deck, and the hammock. The peace of the lake was unforgettable. I am a beach lover, but I think it is fair to say the lake won me over. I would definitely return!

Great location

The property is nice and the location is wonderful. We had a fantastic time. Our only point of feedback is that we were unaware we needed to bring our own towels and sheets. This was inconvenient and not what one would expect from a luxury rental. We wish this information had been more explicitly visible on VRBO.

Amazing Stay!

We just got back from our 8th annual girls vacation at the Lake & it was one for the books! We had the absolute best time! The house was exactly what we needed, the hot tub & outdoor fire place were perfect for our chillier than normal nights & the dock was spot on what we look for every year! The owner was quick to respond & the property manager was lovely. We would love to come back & visit again in the future. We also loved Dennis "The Menace" .. he was the best neighbor.

One of Lake Gaston's finest properties!

We are just coming off a week's vacation at this amazing property. The outdoor space is fabulous! One of the King size beds is in an open loft and it hindered our ability in the early mornings and late at night to talk freely. The kitchen was so well stocked and there is a gas grill and smoker there to use. We had a fire in the outside fireplace which is next to an outdoor patio where we ate dinner each night.Just lovely!

Family Fun Time

This was our third year staying at A Stone’s Throw. The fact that this is our third year says a lot about the property and hosts. The home is well appointed, the kitchen is well stocked, the beds are very comfortable, and the boat house is well stocked with lounge chairs and water toys. Communication with the hosts is excellent. Any time we had a question they responded very quickly. Our entire family highly recommends this beautiful property.

Wonderful vacation!

A Stone’s Throw was everything you see and read about. This was our favorite family vacation. As others have said, the outdoor spaces were as good as it gets. We enjoyed quiet mornings drinking tea and coffee on the upper deck. The covered area was a great place to play cards with kids protected from the sun. Of course, we used the gorgeous outdoor fireplace for s’mores. And the dock was a fantastic place to sit in the sun or shade while the kids reeled in lots of fish. The small beach area was great to launch the kayaks and for little ones to play. The quiet cove was perfect. The outdoor spaces were incredible, but so was the interior of the home. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable. We loved the cozy feeling the cabin style home provided. Can’t say enough good things about this home!

My family loves this property. This is the third time that we've rented. We tried a different place last year just to see a different part of the lake and we missed what we had at A Stone's Throw. Overall the house easily fit the nine of us and was comfortable and enjoyable for everybody. There are always a few quirks with every place (creaky stairs to second floor, dark dining area - although everywhere else is well lit) but nothing that really detracts. The best part is the water access. The beach is great for kids (sandy with no grasses). The kayaks and paddle boat are always fun to get out and paddle around in. But the best part is the dock. It's great for hanging out either in the sun or shade (both covered and uncovered areas to lounge and hang out) and it's nice and deep for swimming (not always a guarantee around Lake Gaston). And the propane fire pit is a nice touch to hang out at night. Even the little things like the hammock were well used by members of my family. We'll definitely be coming back again.

Just a quick weekend getaway. Great communication from owners. Loved every minute—the house is perfectly situated with quiet, deep water access. House had anything you could need. Beautiful landscaping, deck, and dock. Comfortable beds. Hope to return.
