An absolutely perfect vacation property. The surrounding gardens were very tranquil and the cottage was immaculate. Everything that we needed was provided and the location was ideal for exploring the wineries in the surrounding areas.
We loved our stay at the river cottage.....it was immaculate and well appointed. It was nice and handy to the cycle ways and other attractions. Host was lovely and helpful.
A delightful cottage, immaculate with everything one could need.Lovely setting with easy access to walking track and river. The hosts Sue and Mark were very hospitable.
Gardens are amazing. Go through the back gate and you are a short step away to cycle/walkway alongside the Clive River and then onto the beach. If you are lucky enough you will see the local seals. Very enjoyable walk and friendly locals who are happy to stop and chat about conservation and recovery of wetlands following cyclone.Central to everything in the Hawkes bay and a short walk to the local pub. Great pizzas. Would definitely stay again.
The location is great, between Hastings and Napier, right near the beach. The garden and interior are excellent and reflect the effort put into it. I will absolutely stay here again if the possibility arises.
Set in serene established gardens it was immaculate and had every attention to detail to ensure a comfortable stay. Loved the proximity to the river, wetlands and beach. Highly recommend 😊
Lovely little cottage - we came for a wedding and drove up late and Sue was super accommodating with our timings both coming and going.
Place was lovely, warm and cosy and location was perfect!
Will definitely be staying again in the future (:
Super friendly and helpful hosts. Accommodation was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated.
We loved the little fire, the goldfish, and will be back to try out the bath some time.
Sue and Mark are excellent hosts and the cottage was clean and tidy and well equipped with everything we needed, plus more for our stay. We loved that we could access the cycle trail behind the cottage and the township of Clive is also very central to the wineries and Cape Kidnappers etc. We would definitely recommend and would love to come back and stay again one day. Thank you Sue and Mark
Riverside Cottage is a true standout. This place is pure quality, with a prime location just north of Havelock North and Hastings, and a quick hop to Napier and Taradale. It's a five-star stay all the way, equipped with everything you could possibly need. Our host, Sue, was a legend—super helpful and made sure we were completely happy. A top-class spot for a top-class holiday!
Property selected because of proximity to where another member of family lives. Loved the location and proximity to river walk, cycle way. All facilities worked well for us. Will happily use for future visits to the area.
We loved staying here. There was everything we need but is often missing at baches. Well equipped kitchen, decent sized rubbish bin, comfy places to sit, lots of pillows and towels … and more. Really appreciated the thought that has gone into this home.
This was a beautiful property in a unique well keep garden. The property provided us with all we needed and was in an excellent position

We love the rural feel of Clive, and it's close proximity to town if you need to pop in for something. The native garden is our sanctuary and we enjoy all the bird life it brings.
