Spacious Hawaiian home 50 steps from Sugar Beach!

This permitted private home (STKM2020/003, TA-145-334-3744) is unique to the vacation rental market! The home is a short 50 steps to a stretch of the famous Sugar Beach. It's a spacious and updated three bedroom, two bathroom, that comfortably sleeps a total of SIX guests(regardless of age). All six guests shall be of the same party. The home is situated on a spacious lot with native lush trees and greenery. The trade winds keep the home cool throughout the year. This home does not have air conditioning.
The indoor and outdoor spaces have been created with relaxation in mind. However, no parties, events, or receptions of any kind are allowed.

Quiet hours are 9am to 8pm, during which time the noise from the short term rental home shall not unreasonably disturb adjacent neighbors. Sound that is audible beyond the property boundaries during non-quiet hours shall not be more excessive then would be otherwise associated with a residential area.
Amplified sound that is audible beyond the property boundaries of the short term rental is prohibited.
Vehicles shall be parked in the designated onsite parking area and shall not be parked on the street.
No parties or group gatherings other than registered guests shall occur.
The shoreline area is the property of the people of Hawaii and is open for the free use by everyone.

I was pleasantly surprised! Perfect size for our B family and what a cute home!!

We traveled for a family wedding. The house was perfect. So cute and had everything we needed and literally steps to the beautiful beach!

Great place!

The house was very well maintained and clean. Very close to beach, and some fun beach restaurants. Would have been nice to have AC in each bedroom upstairs, it was very Hot! Otherwise, a very nice home away from home.

Fabulous spot for a family with kids (3, in our case). Quiet neighborhood just a few minutes away from great food and stores. Plenty of space in the house and a cute backyard to boot. Incredibly easy to walk to the beach (crosswalk and access path). Good spot for day trips north and west. A+

Just perfect for us!

We will definitely stay in this property again! Great location, plenty of space for everyone. Loved eating on the patio. Washer and dryer were huge and worked fast. The place was very clean when we arrived.

Beautiful space in great location

Really enjoyed the space and location. Pictures lead me to imagine it was on the beach which is actually across the street, and is indeed very close. Host response was somewhat slower than most places I have stayed, though helpful when response came. I would stay here again.

Nice place to stay

The house and outside patio and garden area were good. The two queen beds were not super comfortable according to my kids. We enjoyed the beach across the street and also liked the town of Kihei. Very centrally located for things we wanted to do.

Maui quickie

Thai is a fabulous location. Truth about how close to beach! Our only issue was there was no table to sit at inside. No table for cards or coffee. Outside wasn’t always appropriate. Major construction going on next door was an eyesore…

The house was bigger than the picture show. It was very clean. We were a family of 5 (3 teenagers) and we had a lot of space to chill and relax. The outside amenities are very usefull. The house is literrally 56 steps from the beach, that is often empty but beautiful.

We had booked this house for the last half of our trip to Maui. We were at the edge of Lahaina when the fire started and were stuck there for 2+ days after, fortunately we were avid to get ahold of the host “Hannah” and she let us in to the property a day early and even extended us two days after when our connecting flight was delayed. House was beautiful, clean and so comforting for our family after our experience. Will stay here again when we come back to Maui in the future.

Great location help make the trip awesome.

This property was very nice and clean. Its location was great. The only issue was the only A/C was in the master bedroom which was not a problem just a surprise. In addition, there is a locked portion of the house which the cleaning help used and stayed at pat of the time. This created no problem but was a surprise. Once we were used to it, it worked out fine.

Great find. The description was very accurate. We enjoyed how close it was to the beach. Very comfortable beds. Loved the outside tables and Grill. Would have been nice if the outside shower worked. Very close to alot of necessary places. The coconut man from Coconut Healing was nice. He was cutting down coconuts on the property. He gave us some. If we visit Maui again we will stay there again.

Worth the cost!

We really enjoyed our stay! The location is awesome and only one block from the beach. It’s located in a normal neighborhood away from the tourist traps, but walkable to numerous restaurants. It was very difficult to find an affordable property with three enclosed bedrooms on the south end, so we were very grateful to Hannah for this gem. The house could use a few minor basic updates for comfort (e.g. new cushions on lawn chairs, better soap options, ice maker broken in freezer) but overall we were very comfortable with the space and amenities. We loved the spacious yard with fruit trees, aloe, palm. The upstairs open balcony was amazing and beautiful in the evening. Cool winds and perfect temps! The open layout in the kitchen was really nice for eating and enjoying conversations with friends. We would definitely stay here again.

Close to beach, outdated house

Property manager didn’t respond to neither mail nor text message. House super close to beach and has everything you need. However, house is a little outdated, especially cabinets. A/C only in Master bedroom. Outdoor shower doesn’t work, garden hose almost broken. Shower curtain upstairs falls apart.

Disappointing

We were disappointed with the quality of the rental. It was not what was marketed on Vrbo. Here is a partial list of issues: several lights and fans did not work, the screen door across from the front door was coming apart so we could not leave it open, the shower curtain in the upstairs bathroom was falling apart, there were cockroaches on the kitchen counter and in the upstairs shower when we arrived, there was no cleaner for cleaning the counters, the tv on the enclosed porch did not work, the wall of the upstairs bathroom was filthy, paint on the primary bedroom wall above the bed was coming off.

Nice, and just as advertised

The place was clean and close to the beach; though we went to other beaches our whole stay. Beds were comfortable. The place was comfortable with windows open, but it would likely be very hot during later summer months. There was an an AC in the master bedroom. The standup fan downstairs did not work, but may be replaced when the owner is aware. The kitchen was mostly well stocked with dishes and appliances. It could use a cutting board and a few oven mitts. Bring washcloths if you usually use them. There were plenty of bath towels and six beach towels. Previous renters have left various and sundry items such as sunscreen, aloe, and some beach toys and shoes. People from previous posts complained about lack of living room seating, but we found that sitting outside was preferable anyway. Washer and dryer in the unit was helpful. Our group of five enjoyed our stay.

Please invest in some better furniture

The location is the reason to stay in this property. It really is close to the beach— although you do have to cross a busy street, so “fifty steps” is a bit of an understatement. The house is fine, not the cleanest I have seen, but not the worst either. It’s the lack of furniture available that gave us our most uncomfortable times in this property. The built-in bench with cushions on it, that I guess is supposed to be a couch is super uncomfortable, the bar stools are miserable… the only full size table is on the patio so we had to eat group meals outside- which would be fine normally, but our first 2 &1/2 days were total rainouts so we were stuck inside. The beds were very good though, so we were able to work out our kinks from the furniture overnight. Also— the lime tree, dripping ripe fruit in the backyard was a bonus. Fresh margaritas helped with the kinks too! What would make this property a perfect ten would be better furniture in the group areas.
