This was a perfect location for us to stay for the Kinloch Offroad Challenge. Only 5 minutes walk from the start/finish. We stayed for 7 nights and spent time checking out Taupo while there. So glad we did this, as Kinloch has so much character and it was easy to travel the 20 min drive into Taupo for the touristy things we did in town and such a relaxing place to come back to. Out of Auckland, Wellington and Rotarua this was the highlight of our 3 week trip.

Awesome stay!

We had a great time staying at this lovely little bach, it had everything we needed, was very comfortable and clean, and only a short walk to a refreshing swim in the lake 😊.

It was a perfect size for us as a couple. Very tidy and generally well equipped. We were happy to take our own linen and towels etc. The only thing we felt was missing was a hair dryer.

Nice small private studio very close to Lake Taupo and Kinlochs marina. Ideal for our two night stay for a wedding.

Perfect for a quiet weekend away!

Recently stayed here & it was such a treat! The batch was perfect for us during our stay & soo close to the water. The owners were very approachable & kind! Was a weekend away with some friends & was awesome to find owners who didn’t judge us for our age. Will definitely come back to stay ☺️

Very well located

We enjoyed staying in the Acorn. It was central to life in Kinloch. Everything we needed was there. Jane has thought of everything.

Great Batch and place to stay. Really nice town

We had a lovely stay. Thank you. The only feedback would be that it became hot for two days since it was sunny and the temperature went up to 26 degrees. Maybe another pedestal fan would be a good idea during the summer.

Functional value

Host communication was good. Checking process seamless.Did not realise it was a studio room/bach until arrival but suited our needs.Was clean and functional.Dated but functional and price reflected this. Would suggest that more appropriate for able bodied folk due to the access to the property.The community and area were amazingly nice and the locals super helpful. Would definitely recommend for a getaway spit. Would also stay again. Amazing comnunity

Wonderful peace and quiet

We really enjoyed this bach which gave us everything we needed. The only thing that slightly confused us was Bookabach saying “this information hasn’t been added yet” re Wi-Fi when “there is no Wi-Fi” would have been clearer; we resolved that issue by visiting a cafe in Taupo which was absolutely fine! Loved swimming in the lake and enjoyed coffee from the Volcanic kiosk by the marina … thanks Jane!
