Pilot’s Place is a self-contained studio with a fabulous views over the Pataua and Taiharuru estuaries out to the sea. Wake up to the brilliant sunrise over the ocean and sit outside watching the sun go down over the hills where the kiwis call. This rural spot is perfect for stargazing with huge skies.

Pilot’s place is on a seldom used private airstrip with heaps of wide open space and parking for a boat or trailer. There is an outdoor table and chairs as well as a fish cleaning station.

The studio has been recently renovated and newly furnished. It adjoins a farm shed and is private and separate from the main house.

Inside there is a double bed, corner table, and fully equipped kitchen with microwave, single induction cooktop, and fridge. The ensuite bathroom has a shower, toilet and sink.

In summer there is usually a store at Pataua South campground, or it is a 10 minute drive to the shops and cafes at Parua Bay.

5 minutes drive from Pataua South where you can swim, fish, paddle, or surf.
15 minutes drive from the walking tracks at Whangarei Heads.
30 minutes drive from central Whangarei.
