Great lake house vacation with lots of extras for a wonderful week

  • 5 of 5

This was our second year renting this house. We came back to enjoy the flat yard for our lawn games, the firepit, hot tub, pool table and dock area. The quiet cove is great for swimming, bobbing on floatables, and paddle boarding. The house is perfect to be able to spread out with two TV areas, a well equipped kitchen and a large deck. Very private, nestled in the woods at the end of a dead end road. Our son's large dog loved the yard as well as swimming around the dock.

Perfect Lakefront Rental

  • 5 of 5

Our stay on Penelacres was WONDERFUL. To start the home is located on a small peninsula on a dead end, the street that is very safe for kids/pets. The neighbors are awesome and willing to chat about the area and give tips. The house is equipped with everything you need to stay for a night, week or longer. The house is right on the lake, and the private dock is amazing. We rented a boat for a day from a rental place near Deep Creek Marina and drove it back our dock to load up snacks and kids. We also had floats, brought our own stand up paddle boards to just hang out on the dock and swim for the day. We grilled on the deck, had a campfire and made smores 2 nights--the neighbor even gave us some fire wood when we ran out:) While we were there we went to the Brewery (10 min drive), Swallow Falls (normally a shorter drive but the bridge there was out), and to Deep Creek Seafood (our fav, but about a 25 min drive). Tips for the interior of the house--the master bedroom bath shower water is much more sulfer-y than the bathtub shower if the odor bothers you. The loft area is perfect for kids to have a sleep over. Kitchen has coffee pot, blender, and plenty of pots/pans and platters. Wi-Fi works great if you need to get work done. Overall this house is a perfect pet and kid friendly rental.

Owner's Response: I am so pleased that you enjoyed your stay! It sounds like you really got the most of the Deep Creek experience. I certainly hope you can come back. Beginning in mid August the house will be connected to public water which will eliminate the suffer/iron smell that occurs in this section of the lake. The county has completed the public water project started last summer and we will connect in the next couple of weeks. Hope to have back soon!

Great experience overall except for the water

  • 4 of 5

This house had everything we needed. One level (I have a bad back) living quarters and mostly level walk to dock, plenty of space, nicely furnished, ideal location, pet friendly. We loved it really, but unfortunately will not be renting again because of the water. It smells horrible, like rotten eggs. The sulfur content makes it unable to drink (thank you to the owner for providing free bottled water). Since we were only there for a weekend it was bearable, but I don't know if we could have taken it for a week. I've never confirmed if this is an issue, but I am allergic to sulfur, so it made me nervous to come in contact with it. Therefore I used it for cooking and brushing teeth, plus to drink after being on the boat in the hot sun. We would have gone through so much bottled water had we stayed a week. If it wasn't for the water, we would give this house an A+++++ and 5 stars. It really is a very lovely house, and if sulfur water doesn't bother you, you will love it.

We just returned from a long extended relaxing weekend at this property. The property is beautiful and sits on a quiet cove of the lake. The owner was extremely easy to deal with and very helpful with any question we had. We enjoyed the large game room, hot tub, deck with endless views and the private dock. We will be back!

THE place to stay at Deep Creek Lake!

  • 5 of 5

This was our fourth year staying at one of Rob's properties. Once again, our stay was wonderful. This house, the larger of his two, was everything that we needed as a family. And as always, Rob made sure that we arrived at a pristine home with everything that we could possibly need!

The interior of the home is spacious and well kept. Boasting a large game room that was large enough for all the adults and children to enjoy together without being crowded, we were able to have adult games of pool and still have plenty of space for the young kids to play together only steps away. Truly, the game room is HUGE!

Another fantastic draw for us was the private dock, which not only sits in a quiet cove and allows you to view the most beautiful sunsets; but the dock itself is CARPETED!!!! For a family with small children, I cannot express how nice this was for days when the lake was a little too busy and choppy for our comfort level with young children. No worries about splinters and scraped knees crawling around, or climbing in and out of the water while swimming with this dock. A private dock is always a must for us and this one in particular was the best we've ever had at a rental. Even renters without boats can truly enjoy the lakefront experience with this great added feature due to how well it is maintained and the quality it adds to your vacation.

Whether you need the space of a home like this one, or just a smaller place to stay with his other property, it is ALWAYS a good idea to book one of Rob's homes. You will not be disappointed!

Perfect stay

  • 5 of 5

My family of three adult generations really enjoyed our week stay. With adult children and elderly parents, finding a perfect fit isn't always easy but this place fit the bill. Easy one level living with a gentle slope to the lake, pool table (level!), large fire pit with a nice lawn for our horseshoes, and two relaxing porch swings are just a few of the wonderful amenities we enjoyed. We rented kayaks and kept them at the houses dock, swam daily in the quiet cove. My son's dog was happy on a long tether around the yard. Movie theatre is a short 15 min drive, love the dog friendly decks at the restaurants, hikes at the nearby state park with beautiful waterfalls, whitewater rafting at Wisp! Great house for an active or relaxation seeking family!
