The house was exactly as pictured, really cute. The check in process, however, was anything but smooth. Despite using the door code provided to us, it was necessary to contact the management company three times before receiving a code that actually allowed us to open the door. This inconvenience of a check in took an hour and caused us to miss a family gathering, which was one of the reasons we were in CA to begin with.Despite this, we had a lovely time, and the property is quite nice and clean though a bit dated. The location is stellar; close to the town with the shops and restaurants. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was pretty well stocked.A few suggestions for the owners:-You need more mugs. We had to buy hot cups as there were only 4 mugs for a property that sleeps 8.-While AC was not a listed amenity, we found it hard to bring the house temperature below 78 degrees.-Lamps in the living room could not be plugged in. The lighting there is not good.-The Wifi was spotty causing the TV to buffer a lot.-The outdoor furniture never dried out.-Beach chairs, while not a listed amenity, would have been nice. They were locked in the garage.-A home instruction binder would have been helpful (i.e., operating the TV, etc.).None of this caused us to not want to come back. But we would have been remiss if we didn't let you know what could have been improved for future guests.Thank you for the opportunity to experience Balboa Island.
