If we could leave Vicky 10/5 stars we would. She is friendly, clean and a super guest. Highly recommend hosting Vicky and family. Superb guests x10
The house was clean and tidy. It was comfortable. There were nice books to read, and games on display to play. Kid friendly. The TV is a ROKU, so you would need to log in to your streaming account. The internet worked well. The kitchen had utensils, pots, pans, towels, scissors, batteries, dish soap, plastic wrap, salt/pepper/ spices etc. The fridge and freezer were clean. The bathroom had soaps, band aids and general toiletries which was convenient. The entrance had a bucket of salt if the stairs were slippery which was helpful, since I stayed in the winter months. Spare blankets, and a variety of pillows were available as well.
We enjoyed our stay very much; the home was in a quiet neighborhood, close to the market, shops and parks and we were able to walk our dogs to the marina and back in a short time. The home was very clean and the kitchen completely equipped for us to prepare and eat meals when we wanted. It was less than a ten-minute drive to Sailor’s Encampment, where we were able to watch freighters - close up, that were going up the river to the locks. We learned from a friendly local that once a freighter passes by at Sailor’s Encampment, you can quickly drive up A Line and Hume’s Standard roads to Stribling Point Park, and watch it again.Out host was friendly, polite and quick to respond to all our questions. We always enjoy exploring St. Joseph Island and look forward to our next visit.
Great location in a quiet neighborhood! Just a quarter mile away from downtown Richard's Landing with a grocery store, restaurant on the water, and ice cream stop. The house was enough space for us; no frills but had basics provided (coffee pot, some cooking equipment, etc.). Thank goodness for some air conditioning! Wifi worked but very slow speed, especially with the smart tv. The upstairs loft is beautiful and very northern. Part of the outside of the house is under construction, which we wish we would have been given a heads up on since we were confused when we pulled up at first. Either way, it worked for a week long stay.
