Marie and Detour, Michigan. Calm protected water that is great for kayaking and fishing. It is some of the best walleye, perch, pike, musky and bass fishing in the Great Lakes. Includes: Fish cleaning station, fire pit, BBQ grills, Kayak rentals, free wi-fi, and ample parking for trailers. Dock space available for additional $20.

Riverside cabin
Very relaxing cabin along the river. Perfect for fishing, kayaking or boating. Short drive to the soo. Bring a fan during summer, cell coverage is iffy and WiFi weak, so be aware of that. Owners were easy to work with.

Rustic is correct.
Where it is about 30 minutes south of Sault Ste. Marie, and an hourish north of the bridge, it is literally in the middle of nowhere and those drives feel much longer than they are.
The cabin was fine, minus a mouse friend. But the hosts were quick to try to take care of it. The mouse was just a smart little burger and even managed to get into the refrigerator overnight.
If the weather forecast is going to be warm, bring a fan and power strip as we were only able to find one plug in each room.
The hosts were AMAZING at helping with what they could. Having a tiny store (and gas station) on site was handy, though due to Covid-19 they didn't have certain things.
We would say if you want to get away and fish, and have a boat, this is 100% your place to go!
