Golden Retreater: Pet Friendly on Keuka Lake!

Not far from the quaint Village of Hammondsport (named the coolest small town in America in 2012), tucked away on sleepy East Lake Road on the southern end of the Keuka Lake Wine Trail in the midst of some of the best wineries, you'll find this private, wooded three-bedroom, one bath unique home, with a separate guest/bunk house for that “camp like” experience all while keeping family and friends close, but not too close, or a space for a well-deserved break for mom and dad! Boasting spectacular sunset views, two decks, and thirty-eight feet of natural gradual walk-in lakefront (perfect for kids and dogs alike) Golden Retreat welcomes everyone including your furry friends to come to the lake!

Upon entry into the house, guests are greeted with the open living area and dining area. The view of the lake and beautiful pastoral farmland on the hill across the lake will add to both your relaxing and dining experience! Just off the dining area is the entry into the user-friendly, well-appointed kitchen, with plenty of counter space, which also offers views of the lake.

Completing the main house, you'll find three bedrooms with queen size beds, a full bath, and a washer and dryer. The guest/bunk house, not far from the main house, offers additional sleeping for up to five family and friends in cool A/C, complimented with an expansive deck offering commanding views of the lake. Adjoining the two homes, a spacious deck offers outside dining with amazing lake views, along with a lush and private stone patio and fire pit for rehashing the day's events and roasting marshmallows. Another unique feature of the cottage is the abundance of parking. You can park in the two to three spots down on quiet East Lake Road, or you find plenty of parking located up the stairs off of convenient Route 54.

The large lakeside dock allows guests space to gather comfortably while enjoying fun in the sun! The permanent dock is available for fishing, sun bathing, mooring a boat (bring your own or rent one locally), or enjoying your beverage of choice! Three kayaks are available for your use (or bring your own) to tour the lake and take in the views. For those of you who enjoy quiet walks, running or bike rides, sleepy East Lake Road that runs along the lake is barely one car wide in this area and caters more to dog walkers and bicyclists than vehicles. A secondary fire pit on the level beach offers clear views to the North, South and West of the lake and is ideal for an end of the day treat, while gazing up at the myriad of stars above

June through October head to the Hammondsport village square for their farmers markets on Wednesday and Saturday, or head north to Penn Yan and explore the Windmill Farm and Craft Market on Saturdays (home to over 175 indoor and outdoor shops) for local fresh produce, treats, dinner ideas, and fun.

Golden Retreat is just minutes from the Village of Hammondsport and approximately 10 miles from the Village of Penn Yan. Whether you're out on the wine trail tasting wine at nearby wineries - McGregor Vineyards, Weis, Bully Hill, Heron Hill and Domaine LeSeurre Winery (just to name a few) or out on the Finger Lakes Beer Trail sampling a new ale or lager at one of the local breweries, or enjoying a panini and handcrafted pint at The Onley Place just north of this cottage, there's plenty of fun for everyone! Occupancy: This property is closely monitored for responsible renting. The maximum occupancy of each home is the number of guests allowed on the premises at any given time. This includes both day and overnight guests as well as all children including infants.

1. You will receive an email upon confirmation with a link to our Guest License Agreement which is a copy of our Rental Rules that must be signed and returned within 7 days of receiving.
2. Smoking is not allowed in any rental property. This includes vaping and e-cigarettes.
3. Homes are not handicap accessible, unless stated in the description.
4. Air conditioning is not available unless listed as an amenity. If available, air conditioning is considered a seasonal amenity and is only available May 15 - October 15.
5. Homes are not guaranteed allergen-free, even those that do not allow pets.
6. Docking is not guaranteed if water levels are low and/or high due to seasonal weather and climate changes.
7. Outdoor amenities, including furniture, watercraft, and firepit are not available between October 15 - May 15.
8. 2 dogs allowed maximum and $100 plus tax non-refundable pet fee applies per dog.
