The Space Welcome to Mallard Lakehouse, a peaceful lakeside retreat nestled in the beautiful Lake of Bays area. Surrounded by nature and set right on the lake, this cottage is perfect for relaxing, reconnecting, and enjoying the outdoors year-round. Inside, the space features warm wood interiors and a unique central fireplace that anchors the living area, creating a cozy, inviting atmosphere perfect for relaxing evenings. The fully equipped kitchen includes everything you need for easy meal prep, along with a breakfast bar for casual dining.
Step outside to a spacious deck surrounded by nature, complete with comfortable seating and multiple cooking options, including a charcoal BBQ and Blackstone, ideal for laid-back outdoor meals. Just beyond, you’ll find a large firepit area, perfect for bonfires under the stars.
A set of stairs leads you down to the private dock, where you can swim, lounge, or take in the calm beauty of Lake of Bays. The property also features a nice open lawn for outdoor games and activities, along with hammocks and yoga mats for moments of rest and recharge.

The cottage is a bungalow-style home offering a comfortable and thoughtfully laid out sleeping arrangement:
• Primary Bedroom – Spacious bedroom with a queen bed and sliding door closet for convenient storage • Second Bedroom – Cozy bedroom with a queen bed, suitable for additional guests • Third Bedroom – Bunk bed setup (double on the bottom, single on top), ideal for kids or flexible sleeping arrangements
Bathrooms:
• Bathroom 1 – Full bathroom with a sink, stand-up shower, and toilet • Bathroom 2 – Second full bathroom with a sink, stand-up shower, and toilet
Guest Access:
Guests have full access to the entire cottage, including the private dock, outdoor deck, and grounds. Enjoy lake access for swimming and relaxing, BBQ meals on the deck, and evenings by the firepit. The open lawn, hammocks, and yoga mats offer space to unwind and enjoy the outdoors.

Please read the following details carefully before booking our cottage to be able to enjoy the place to the fullest
Pre-Check and Safety: The primary guest will need to complete a Pre Check-in Rental Information Form on behalf of the group. This includes providing the ages of all guests, a full guest list, and a photo ID of primary renter to comply with the Lake of Bays STR Bylaws. The primary guest will also be required to sign a form upon arrival as we are a registered STR.
Pet Policy: We allow up to 1 dog only, and it must be pre-approved prior to your stay. Please ensure pets are well-behaved and cleaned up after at all times.
Pests and Small Animals: Please note that this property is located in cottage country so mosquitos, flies, and in rare cases, small wild animals (including turkeys, field mice, foxes, deer, etc.) could be seen in the area. We have taken preventative measures to ensure these pests do not enter the cottage but we cannot guarantee that they enter the property. We ask that windows and doors should be closed when not in use to prevent pests from entering the cottage
Trash Day: A designated storage area is available at the base of the property (garage bin), please ensure all garbage is securely sealed, as wildlife may be present. Garbage is collected weekly. If needed, guests may also take garbage to the Dwight Transfer Station (approx. 10–15 minutes from the property). *Location: 1020 Dwight Beach Rd, Dwight, ON *Hours: Open 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday)
Other Things to Note: Our hilltop location offers an amazing lake view but also has a steep drop. Please exercise caution when walking outside and watch your children.
The cottage offers a charming vintage feel, with a mix of original features and newer updates throughout. As with many older properties, you can expect a few quirks and signs of age, all part of the character and experience of staying here.
There is no generator on site, and being in cottage country, occasional power outages can occur. These are typically resolved within a few hours. Please note that refunds are not provided for outages unless they exceed 12 hours.
