Stay was fine facility was adequate nothing great

Facility was fine staff was friendly everything was clean Continental breakfast was weak not much to offer. No maid service during our stay which may be standard procedure these days not sure On site amenities were a disapointment some of that was due to windy conditions but staff seemed less than motivated to set anything up. Adjacent Tiki bas was great good food ,drink and entertainment but not affiliated with the hotel and it made parking thin at times but we always found a spot Island fish company directily across the street was great ate their often

Family Getaway

We only stayed at the hotel for one night but we had a great time. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable. There's a pool out back along with some tables and hammocks which was very nice to relax in the evening while looking out over the water. The hotel location is also fantastic since there are many restaurants nearby and is fairly close to Bahia Honda state park. The breakfast buffet is also offering packaged egg sandwiches, danishes, and muffins due to covid along with usual hotel breakfast options like cereal, yogurt, coffee, etc. Overall I would definitely recommend staying here.

Wonderful keys getaway

Very nice, simple, newer hotel. Two nice small pools. Convenient bar/restaurant on site (ok food and service - much better bet is Island Cafe across the highway). Short drive to Sombrero beach which is very pretty. Only complaint was level of housekeeping. Only once every 4 days and very superficial. COVID was the rationale but it seems it’s a way to keep the costs down and local staff underemployed.

Not your typical VRBO booking!

This was not your typical VRBO booking! The VRBO website says "Discover what Vrbo is all about With over 2 million bookable vacation rentals, Vrbo connects homeowners with families and vacationers looking for something more than a hotel for their trip. The Vrbo community offers families an array of rental property types such as condos, cabins, lake rentals, beach houses, and more." This is a HOTEL and we were booked in standard rooms with 2 double beds. I assumed we were at least in a "suite" with some extra sitting space or kitchenette facilities but we were not! I was able to get an upgrade once we arrived, but had to pay the hotel extra for this. The hotel recently changed hands and was newly renovated so the property and rooms were lovely! It was great for our family who has a boat, but again, we had to pay extra for our boat to dock at their marina. We were quite comfortable in the suites but there were no cooking facilities so we had to eat out for every meal which got very expensive. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but I could have booked this through a hotel website rather than Vrbo. Once the original booking was completed with Vrbo, I contacted the "property manager" which is a "reservation company" and found out that the booking was actually a hotel. When I called the hotel to get some more details about the property, I realized that they had only booked me in 1 room instead of the 2 that I reserved with Vrbo. It took me several days and back & forth communications with the reservation company to sort it all out and confirm the 2 units. I was not that impressed with their system and disappointed in Vrbo for letting this happen.
