“Wait-n-Sea” this adorable beach box, located oceanside

“Wait-n-Sea” is newly remodeled. This adorable oceanside beachbox is a short walk to the beach. Located in the best neighborhood on Hatteras Island. With wide streets it offers ample room for walking the dog, strollers, jogging, or bike riding, you can go two miles in a big loop and never go out on highway 12. Salvo is a peaceful little village where you can relax, unwind, and let your troubles float away. The home offers a large open concept living, dining, and remodeled kitchen featuring a 10' peninsula excellent for entertaining. Enjoy your morning coffee at the breakfast bar or take it outside rocking on the private screened porch. Down the hall you will find 3 spacious bedrooms and 2 remodeled bathrooms. The master bedroom has a queen bed and an attached master bath. The second bedroom also has a queen bed, while the third bedroom features two sets of bunk beds. The home has 4 TVs, one in each bedroom and one in the living room. Each TV is equipped with Roku to make streaming via your favorite app simple and easy or watch cable via the spectrum app. The house is fully concreted bellow with an outdoor shower, park grill, and space to park a small vehicle. Don't worry we haven't forgotten about Fido as are home is equipped with a dog pen to provide them with their own outdoor space.

The host was easy to work with and responded quickly to any of our questions. The kitchen was nicely stocked with dishes, cooking utensils, small appliances, pots and pans. The cottage is decorated in a coastal style which made our stay very relaxing. There is a screened in side porch that catches a nice breeze, we spent several evenings enjoying it. Great location if you like the beach, sound side, and 4-wheel drive beaches. We had excellent weather during our vacation. Would definitely recommend this host and cottage to anyone that wants an excellent VRBO experience.

This is a wonderful property in a wonderful location. Quiet neighborhood with easy beach access and great for walks/dog walking. House was extremely clean and beautifully decorated. Well-stocked kitchen and plenty of leftover items from previous guests (detergent, spices, paper products etc.). It is clearly kept up to date. We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in a quieter part of the Outer Banks! Thank you for letting us use your home for our vacation!

The property was clean and welcoming, and it had everything we needed for our stay. The hosts were very thoughtful and kind. They left a very nice gift card for us to enjoy at a local business, alo ng with a kind note. The weather was not good for part of our stay. The hosts had puzzles, games, and a comfortable environment for us to enjoy during the storms. We had a very nice vacation in Salvo/OBX.

Wonderful vacation home

This property was absolutely everything and more than was advertised. Clean, well stocked with everything you need to cook a meal with, convenient to restaurants, stores and the beach. Wonderful place. We will be back!

OBX vacation

Sweet beach house with all that is needed for a fun beach week. Easy short walk to the beach and an outdoor shower to wash off the sand before going into the house. We had a great week relaxing in the sun.

Great quiet place in OBX

We had a great time at our stay in Salvo this week. The house was in a quiet neighborhood. Beach access was pretty easy, just 3 minutes walk down a street with barely any traffic and another 5 minutes across the dunes. The beach wasn’t crowded and had great waves. Loved it!

Very clean, organized, updated, and renovated property. Kitchen had everything we needed and more. Owner got right back to me when I had a question. We would stay here again.

Family Reboot

After a stressful 2024 we decided a week in Salvo was just what we all needed. Myself, daughter, son, granddaughter, sister and my dogs stayed at Wait & Sea for a week. It was wonderful! The care and thought the owners put into making a stay there delightful was much appreciated. The decor, color coordination, comfort of beds, location of home with easy beach access, cleanliness, communication with owner…..I could go on and on. It had everything we needed. There is a small gated area for dogs and they even had bowls and poop bags for their 4 legged guests. I would give it 20 stars!

First time in Salvo

Everything was as advertised. Property owners are super friendly. Neighbors were nice too. 5 min walk to the beach made it easier for multiple trips. Super close to the Salvo Day use area on the sound.

Hatteras Island in October

Well organized and well equipped beach house in a nice area. Beach access is good but does require some walking. Beaches are gorgeous with no visible houses from the beach. Good local markets with all anyone would need. Avoid the Food Lion in Avon in Saturdays especially due to crowds but otherwise a good store.

Yearly Beach Trip #14

The property was great and the neighborhood was really nice and convenient to the Ocean as well as the Sound side Beach. The weather was mostly cloudy the entire week. What made it worse was the King Tide, which I had never heard of before. The Ocean over wash caused the roads to flood. I won't drive my car in Ocean Water so we were not able to go to Ocracoke and ended up leaving a day early due to a Dune Breach at Pea Island and the threat of additional flooding. Definitely would stay at this house again! I will be sure to check the King Tide Dates before I plan my next trip!!

wonderful stay at Wait 'N Sea, Salvo, NC

We loved our stay at Wait 'N Sea in Salvo. The home was remodeled recently and it was very, very clean. The kitchen was well stocked and the entire home is tastefully decorated and aesthetically pleasing. We loved the screened in porch and appreciate so much how this home is so well cared for by the owners. We appreciate this home being pet friendly as well so thank you! The walk to the beach is just fine. This is a great neighborhood and is our 3rd year staying here but first time at Wait 'N Sea. We look forward to returning in 2024. We have stayed in other rentals managed by a property management company but nothing really compares to staying in a home that is well cared for by the owners. No one takes care of a place better than the owners! Thank you Chris and family. Excellent job!

5 Stars - You Wont Regret!

Great stay. Highly recommended. Place was absolutely spotless when we arrived. Everything was as described (honestly even better than the group expected). Chris is a wonderful host. Excellent communication. We very much appreciated the helpful emails prior to our stay and enjoyed the sweets delivered on our first morning. Short walk to the beach in a great location. 5 stars all around! I honestly have no negatives to report, but I will give a heads up that there are cameras on the property (outside of course) aiming at the driveway. No attempts were made to hide the cameras, but I thought it worth adressing as this may bother some guests. Thanks again Chris; we will certainly consider booking here again next year!

Hospitality at it's finest

Our stay exceeded expectations. First of all, the owners epitomized hospitality. We had clear communication before, during, and even after our stay! I appreciated all the wonderful information about both the house and area prior to our arrival. While we were there, a welcome gift of local pastries was delivered to our door--- above and beyond! Additionally, after we returned home the owners sent us a handwritten note thanking us for our stay. Simply fantastic hospitality. We came during COVID for our Thanksgiving. We were traveling with four small children and a small dog. The accommodations were perfect for our family and it's the kind of house I wish could stay in wherever we go! The home was very clean. We provided our own linens due to COVID. I loved the internet access and that we could watch the Thanksgiving Day Parade on the television or our favorite Netflix show! PERKS OF HOUSE 1. Exceptionally well-equipped kitchen. I was pleasantly surprised to find everything I needed to cook a Thanksgiving meal, and more! Very thoughtful, well organized, and clean. 2. Bedrooms and bathrooms were beautifully decorated, just enough space, and comfortable. My children loved the double bunkbeds. 3. Outdoor shower was a lifesaver! After days at the beach with so. much. sand. It was so convenient for the kids to wash off in a warm shower, throw on their pajamas, and be done for the night! LOCATION 1. I loved the residential vibe of the neighborhood. We met a few neighbors out walking their dogs and everyone was so friendly. It just made the experience feel so much like home 2. The walk to the beach is easy and felt safe not having to cross any busy roads. We went down the street and down a little path before crossing over the dunes to get to the ocean. 3. We were able to easily get to Hatteras or Kitty Hawk Area, even took the ferry to Ocracoke one day. We went to the Hatteras beaches one day and an Ocracoke beach another. We did a beach day at the house once, but walked out to see the sunrise a few times. Very convenient to little shops to pick up needed items as well as attractions up and down the OBX. Wonderfully cared for property, beautiful vacation spot, and above and beyond hospitality from the owners. So glad we found "Wait-n-Sea"!

We wanted a house that we could just “live at” for the week and relax as a family of 4. The house had everything we needed for that. Even a crock pot and liners (it’s the little things). The beach was a little more of a treck to the beach access than I imagined by the description. For a younger/active family it wasn’t a huge deal for us. If you are middle aged with mobility issues that may be an issue for you. Getting over the dune with your stuff for the day can be a challenge. The neighborhood was fantastic. We brought our dog and he enjoyed his time as well. Thank you for the waste bags!House was clean, although we struggled with ants and having to keep everything sealed while we were there. The owner was made aware and was contacting pest control for the next visitors.

Just the house we needed

This house was so comfortable and had everything we needed. The owner was great letting us know everything about the property and helpful information on the area. Loved the neighborhood and the easy access to the ocean front. It was always a beautiful and easy walk to the beach and we also had close access to a 4x4 beach access. I loved the screen porch, enjoying my morning coffee and the very thoughtful fresh pastries the owner sent to us. You can’t go wrong with this property. Our week went by MUCH too fast that’s my only complaint. 😉
