Islands View Condo- Waterfront

NO PETS- NO SMOKING. Beautiful newer 2 bedroom, 1 bath end unit directly on Lake Huron overlooking the Straits of Mackinac. Located in historic St. Ignace, this lovely open and airy getaway is steps from a Great Lake with views of Mackinac Island as well as other area islands. Close to the boat lines, casino, and so many regional and popular vacation destinations. A small private deck is a great spot to witness the incredible morning sunrises and catch all the daily activity of Straits activity including freighters passing through the shipping channel.

Each bedroom has a new queen mattress. There is a shared bathroom and a stackable washer/dryer. The open great room has a nice kitchen with coffee maker, blender, dishes, pans, etc., counter bar, electric fireplace, comfortable bar stools, smart TV and walkout to deck. This is a main-level unit with no stairs and direct car access to the unit. Located directly across from the area hospital. Call for off-season availability for longer-term stays, and corporate or work-related lodging. Motel construction is happening across from the property- projected to continue through May 2024.

Weekend Anniversary Getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The beach is not sandy. More rocky. Having Lake Huron out our door was very nice.

Can’t Be Beat!!

Great place! Great location and great views!! Clean, nice decor, comfortable beds. The kitchen is top notch with EVERYTHING you need to prepare a meal. We love to cook and we were very impressed!! Lots of towels and hangers too. It’s the attention to the little things that matter. Felt like home!! Will definitely return!

Beautiful spot right on water

Visited Slt St Marie for boat tour of the Soo Locks. Loved Harbor Springs for shopping and beach. Traveled to Traverse City on a rainy day for shopping and sightseeing. Went to Petosky and lunched at the famous Leggs restaurant. The condo was wonderful: clean, funtional and decorated nicely. Good view of the lake. You can sit near the shoreline but it would be difficult to swim right out the door of the condo. Great beaches all around.

Great family rental

The house itself was maintained and great. It had everything and it was home away from home. The outside on the other hand, was pretty trashed due to the construction right next door. We spent an hour with trash bags on the beach before we could even enjoy it. It was close to all the great spots and even close enough for a morning trip to Lake Superior.

The only thing that wasn’t pleasant was the construction that was next to our front door but the lake view by the sliding doors was amazing!

Stay at St Ignace

The property itself was clean but all around the property was filled with a lot of trash all the way down to the lake and all through the parking lot. You can hear through the walls like they're sitting next to you. We had to leave a day early due to a family emergency I sent that to the property owner but never got a response. We traveled over to the lower peninsula over the bridge it was much cleaner and much prettier, way better maintained.

Perfect little spot on the lake

The rental unit was great, just as advertised. Clean and perfect for our needs. Only negative was the construction going on next door. The workers continually parked their work trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment in the spots for the rental unit and on the grass, even after I spoke with them about it.

Worked well enough!

This property was great on the inside- clean and well maintained, nice bedrooms and a spacious bathroom and kitchen. There was plenty of seating as well. I do think the photos of the outside are a little misleading- there is a lot of trash around the property, and the beach that it is on is a lot of tall weeds and rocks. My kids enjoyed throwing stones in the water from the shore, and the view from inside was nice, but I would not plan to spend much time out there. We also experienced the flies that many other reviews commented on (we were there the last week of June), but that obviously can't be helped, and was not a huge issue. Communication from the property owners was great, and St. Ignace overall was a nice spot to vacation. Overall, I would recommend, it worked well for what we needed!

Nice

Nice apartment, like we expected it to be. Only issue is that it would have been nice to know that there is major hotel construction 75 feet from your door with a lot of noise (constant back up beeping) 7 am to 7 pm. We would have chosen somewhere else if we had known. Problem will probably go away by next year.

Islands View

Beautiful VRBO unit with great view. Close to ferries. However, the midges (insects) were horrible. It would have been nice to have been warned. I guess for a few weeks every spring they come. They do not bite, but you cannot sit outside near water. Also, there is wifi but no internet, even when signed onto wifi. Overall, I would go back to the same unit, but not in May.

Cute place on the water

Rental property on the inside was as photographed and described. Everything was clean, orderly and in good working condition. Place was cute and quaint. The only downside of our visit was out of the control of the property owners. The outside had thick swarms of what looked to be large gnats. After doing some research, they are midge bugs which come out in the spring starting in April and are at their worst peak in May which is when we stayed. They don't last all summer and they are everywhere, not just on this property. Mother nature doing it's thing at the time of our stay. The other downside was the construction extremely close, next to us. There is a large hotel complex being built. Heavy equipment ran from sun up to sun down. Overall, a nice visit!

Wonderful location - Wrong Timing

Was very excited to stay in this rental for a long Memorial Day weekend but wasn’t told about the seasonal spring mayfly bloom before arriving and had never experienced it before. Swarms of mayflies everywhere outside so we couldn’t use the porch or picnic area which was a big bummer. The inside of the rental was as pictured but we felt not a cleanly as it could be with some cobwebs, yucky looking pillows, and a bathtub with drainage issues. Also experienced some modem issues but the owner brought us a hotspot which was nice!

plaza office made into a condo, loud construction literally right outside your door and no actual b

Condo itself looked fine, walls are paper thin but its a plaza space modified into a condo. Plaza its located in looks abandoned and next to a very active loud construction site that my family got to both listen to and feel the vibrations, inside ot outside. Worst is the heavily advertise beach front. There is no beach! What there is, is a garbage filled patio to a garbage filled grass walk to the "beach" which is a garbage filled rocky shorline...sharp..rocky shorline that goes as far into the water as you can swim. You will get cut up trying to swim or walk the shorline. We made the most of our trip by spending as much time away from the condo and hoping the construction would be done for the day when we got back. The advertisement for this rental isn't accurate and leaves out key details that will effect the rental that renters need to know

Not impressed

Check in was very easy. When I entered the first bedroom the bed was not made. The second bedroom was fine. I found dirty linens (the bed linens from the first bedroom) on the floor in front of the washer. There was used soap left in the shower. The manager was notified and I did not get any feedback about this. Also beware there is no AC in this unit (there was a portable unit in the second bedroom), it did get pretty hot at night in the first bedroom. There is still construction going on for a hotel next door to condo, the listing said that would be completed by May 2024 (I know this is not the property managers fault). A heads up would have been appreciated. The morning of 7/2 I received a text from the property manager stating that the asphalt in front of our condo. She stated we may need “cars shifted around at some point”. The machinery was very close to the condo, very loud which was frustrating having a toddler who needed to nap in the afternoon. The next day half the parking lot was torn up. The rest of the trip we had to walk down a narrow sidewalk (because of the chairs on the sidewalk). I did tell the manager and we were told to park on the “gravel area that has already been taken out”. This would not have worked because there were several large, sharp rocks in that area. No one reached out to apologize for the inconvenience except for the woman from the manager office and there was no good solution given.

Location, Location, Location

Great stay, stunnning views of Lake Huron. You're literally on the water, it's incredible. You get the beautiful sunrise every morning over Mackinac Island. you are less than 2 miles from the Family Fare grocery store, the ferries, and downtown shopping. Be sure to check out the Zodiac Party Store Pasty shop. YUM! Beds were very comfortable, very clean and comfortable interior. Great kitchen and supplies for making meals. Nice washer and dryer available along with a dishwasher. The smart TV was very nice too with Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, etc. available without logging into our own. Checkin process was super easy, door keypad. The Management company called us to let us know the code changed one more time, which was very nice. as a heads up it's a 906 area code :) The only thing that was off was the amount of spiders and bugs we had to kill throughout our stay. The location of the apartment is actually at the end of a business strip mall, so it confused us when we were looking for the property. It looks like it was converted from an insurance firm office to an apartment, but it's so nice!

Great Experience

The property is well maintained. It has a gorgeous view out front. You can hear the neighbors through the wall at night. But, everything else over shadowed that.

Perfect Couple retreat

This was a perfect place to celebrate our up coming anniversary. The town had a number of great places to eat and close to activities. We would definitely stay here again and visit St Ignace. 😊

Perfect place for our vacation

We had a great experience in this condo. Clean, nicely decorated, comfortable, good amount of space, washer and dryer were a huge plus, great location on the water (although the complex it was in was not the nicest), and great location in terms of easy access to travelling to the places we wanted to see. I would stay there again and highly recommend it.

Lake Huron at your doorstep

Great rocky/beach area directly in front of the house. We spent many hours playing in the water and kayaking. It is a short bike ride to down town St Ignace. Living space is open and was very functional for our family of 4.
