About Susan Erickson

I have been loving Provincetown for 45 years; my aunt Alice Foley, was the town nurse for many years. Alice was a force in town, known for her outspokenness, courage, fierce intelligence, wit, and warmth. My husband and I and our two grown sons loved and admired Alice. We live in a suburb near Boston, and enjoy this unit as much as we can.

Susan Erickson purchased this condo in 2008

Why Susan Erickson chose Cape Cod

This is a gorgeous and special spot--one of few rental units right on the harbor in Provincetown! The high ceilings, amazing deck, and just-out-of-town location (near the fun, not near the noise!) make this a great pied-a-terre!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We loved this condo, and our week in Ptown. The kitchen of this condo is so well equipped--sharp knives! and the deck is perfect. We did much less walking and exploring in town as we loved hanging out in the unit--water, waves, seagulls, and boats everywhere you look. Bed was super comfortable, wifi was great. and the shop downstairs has the best cupcakes in town! Perfect vacation spot.

Amazing Condo in a Great Town

  • 5 of 5

The condo was clean and comfy with beautiful views of the water. Inside was light and airy with nice artwork. The appliances, countertops, and furniture all looked like they were in great condition. There was wifi (very reliable), cable tv, Scrabble, and puzzles for lazy days in, as well as beach chairs, a floating dock, and plenty of outdoor activities for the nice summer weather. The deck and beach were perfect places to unwind and relax. We loved how the area around the condo was fairly residential and quiet, but it was just a short walk away from the shops, restaurants, and bars. There is a detailed binder in the condo that discusses all of the amenities and anything you need to know about the condo as well as offering ideas of things to do and places to see while in town. I would highly recommend Waterfront West #5 to anyone wanting to spend time in Provincetown. It has kept us coming back time and again.

Spectacular views from a very well-kept condo!

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely breathtaking views of the Provincetown harbor from a very nice, comfortable condo unit right on the water in the quiet West End of town. Easy access to the town center, but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. Very clean, bright, well-decorated and comfortable unit with nice artwork.

Clean, cozy, convenient, and right on the water!

  • 5 of 5

I love this spot, and would highly recommend you to reserve some time here. Being right on the water you get a gorgeous view of the harbor and the tides. It always made my day walking in through the front door, waking up, or even just turning around for that matter, and being able to see the tides coming and going throughout the day. Being able to crack the window at night and listen to the waves as I fell asleep was a great treat too. The condo was very clean when we got there, loaded with cooking supplies/utensils (so we could eat in if we wanted to), and very easy to navigate. The wifi was great, so I could still keep up with work emails as needed. The private beach was a plus, as it can get noisy at the public beaches around town. It was especially great being just a short walk from all the restaurants, shops, and bars on Commercial St. Again, this is a great spot. Thank you!

Amazing - On the Water

  • 5 of 5

The condo is beautiful with great views of the water. The deck is the perfect place to relax. The area is quiet and calm, but it is also just a quick walk to the shops, restaurants, and bars. Could not ask for a better place to spend our vacation!

This is a wonderful, awesome, inspiring spot right on the water. It was spotless when we arrived, and the quality of the linens, dishes, etc. was not-your-average-rental, but lovely and unique. We will be back!

Relaxation & a perfect place in Provincetown

  • 4 of 5

What a lovely place to stay for just the two of us on our honeymoon! This is a comprehensive list of pros and cons of the condo, which we highly recommend. A few disclaimers: we stayed the week before Memorial Day, so Provincetown was quiet and sparsely populated, which suited our preferences perfectly. Provincetown is a favorite place of ours on the cape, and we felt this condo fit the bill for a place to stay! We hope you find this place too!

Sincerely, Jess and Adam

The List

Fantastic view and ocean sounds from the bay side windows; the layout maximized usable space in the small floor plan; the decor was cozy; the bathroom was clean, the toilet and sink worked well and there was ample hot water and pressure to shower, although there is no tub; the deck, although shared was spacious enough to spread out and enjoy; the location was in the West End and a quiet space; the breakfast and lunch restaurant "Relish"is right downstairs and we highly recommend it; the condo was overall clean upon arrival; the wireless internet speed was very fast and easy to connect to; the artwork in the condo was very nicely chosen and placed to enhance the decor; there is a printer with ink and paper which we appreciated; there is off street parking for one car, space for bicycles on the deck, and spots at West End Beach for our kayaks (we recommend locking them up and checking with the harbor master first).

Approximately 90% of the dishes, silverware and pots and pans in the drawers, cupboards and on the shelves needed some minor cleaning before we felt comfortable cooking and eating with them; there is no oven or dishwasher (but it is a small efficient space, so that makes sense); the light switches and fan control all worked, but were confusing to figure out which controlled what; a contractor was still working on the deck when we arrived, but he was unobtrusive and quiet; the front door is "sticky" and has no dead bolt, only a doorknob lock.

Owner's Response: Jess and Adam, Happy Honeymoon! I did not know this was your honeymoon! I am mortified to learn that the dishes and so forth were not immaculate. I will address this immediately, and it will not happen to anyone in the future. In fact, I just replace some pans, glassware, and tupperware, and washed everything with hot soapy water and glass cleaner. There is no dishwasher or oven, as stated in the description of the unit, but there is a large counter-top toaster oven that I have used for toasting bruscetta, roasting chicken, heating up pastries, etc. An electric grill, a two burner stove top, and a crockpot are available for cooking as well. Provincetown is so safe--I have never added a dead bolt, but I will think about doing that as well. I am glad you otherwise enjoyed your stay, and congratulations! Susan
