Electric Peak Retreat at Yellowstone National Park North Entrance
Electric Peak Retreat offers a special experience for visitors coming to the Yellowstone area. It is nestled on 3 acres of land with 300 feet of Yellowstone River frontage that provides private river access. My home sits just below Electric Peak, an 11,000 foot peak in the north end of Yellowstone Park, the views and surrounding landscape are awe-inspiring.
LOCATION: 5 miles from the Roosevelt Arch marking the North Entrance to Yellowstone National Park in Gardiner, MT. It's incredibly convenient to serve as a base camp for all of your explorations of the Park and surrounding area (see updates above about access). You truly feel connected to the beautiful nature around you. There is a great natural hot spring located less than 3 miles from the house as well.
The town of Gardiner is working to become members of the Dark Sky Association because of the incredible night skies in the area. They really will take your breath away! Of course, you may have to share the beach with the elk.
There are lots of recreational opportunities outside of the Park: miles and miles of hiking trails, whitewater and scenic rafting, horseback riding, e-bike tours, wildlife tours, fishing, shopping, restaurants and food trucks, scenic drives, soaking in Yellowstone Hot Springs, Chico Hot Springs, and local music venues.
DESCRIPTION: Nature often puts on a show for our guests. The Yellowstone River is rich with wildlife and activity, especially as the sun is coming up. You can soak it all in from the comfort of the living room or deck as you have your morning coffee. Elk, deer, otters, bald eagles, osprey, coyotes are common guests!
The main floor has an open floor plan with a large kitchen that adjoins a roomy dining area and Living Room, ideal for gatherings and games. The deck is accessed off of the kitchen and provides a wonderful spot to sit and watch the sun drop behind Electric Peak as you relax with your family and friends. A gas grill is provided on the deck for creating true summertime outdoor meals.
Also on the main level is a wonderful master bedroom (king bed) with an ensuite full bathroom. It’s not often that a bathroom has such incredible views, but this one does! Guests will enjoy the soaking tub as well as the walk-in shower in the master bath. A cozy bonus reading room with a desk sits just outside the master bedroom. A half bath is available off of the great room.
The lower level is all about a casual and relaxed vibe. It is a walkout onto the yard. There are 3 bedrooms (each with a queen bed) and a full bath with a shower/tub combo. A great family room with large screen TV and comfy couches is downstairs as well. Laundry with washer and dryer.
The home sleeps 8 (max) comfortably. All of the mattresses and linens are high quality since getting good sleep can make all the difference on vacation. There are 3 bathrooms.
The kitchen is fully stocked with all you will need to make most meals.
NOTE: This home is incredibly special to me because it served as a home for my family of 3 boys up until now. I have managed rentals in the area for other owners and have received only 5 star reviews for my service. Now it is time to offer my own home and I hope that it provides a wonderful place to relax and share time with family and friends while inspiring you to get out and explore the incredible area of Yellowstone. A pet is an option with approval and small fee.

We absolutely loved the views of the property. Best location, so close to Yellowstone. We highly recommend this property. We saw elks in the morning by the river.
Exceptional! Was looking for a quiet place to round out our busy vacation in the mountains and The Electric Peak Retreat was perfect. This lovely home had everything we needed: fully stocked kitchen, laundry, wonderfully comfortable beds, and a peaceful view of the meandering Yellowstone River from just about every room in the house. We had a fantastic stay!
Great location for access to the park. Comfortable home for our family to relax after long days in the park. Only complaints are no body wash in the shower and linens didn’t smell fresh. Enjoyed the many games to choose from.
This home is simply magnificent. It’s comforting and cozy on cold evenings and dreamy to wake up to expansive views. We stayed here as a home base for our trip to Yellowstone, and it met every expectation. The home is well equipped with everything you need, plus the most comfortable beds we’ve ever slept on. We spent chilly mornings and evenings on the deck, watching the resident elk herd move through the valley. Very convenient to Gardiner and the north entrance to the park. It was hard to leave!
The home and surrounding area was beautiful. Private and quiet yet close enough to town for anything we needed. Very convenient location to visit Yellowstone and Chico hot springs. We enjoyed our first time in Montana.
Nothing bad to say about this house. All the amenities you need, beautiful place and amazing views. Very cozy and so close to Yellowstone. Would def come back again!
Electric Peak Retreat has it all. The home was so well equipped; the beds were incredibly comfortable; the views were amazing; the location to the quaint town of Gardiner was very convenient. Our family of 6 adults and one infant had more than enough room to spread out or gather together.
My husband and I stayed for a couple of nights to relax and go through the Park. This house was so perfect to do both. We really enjoyed our stay and were able to relax and enjoy the views. We definitely will come back. Thank you for allowing us to use your beautiful home!
Our group of 6 college friends had a fabulous 4 night stay. The property is beautiful with amazing views all around. It is a perfect base to access the Yellowstone through the north entrance. It had everything we needed to rest, cook and enjoy ourselves while enjoying the views and wildlife. I will definitely book this property next time I return to Yellowstone.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house. Great location Every room has windows overlooking the river and mountains where we saw elk everyday. The house was very comfortable and nicely furnished. Everything we needed was there. We were concerned at first that it is off the main road but it was a non issue.
We had an absolutely amazing week with fantastic views and elk constantly in our backyard, simply awesome! The home had all the necessities and much much more. Plenty of space inside and out.
Highly recommend!
This place was so amazing! The photos do not do it justice! The place was gorgeous!! Elk slept in the yard each night. It was incredible. My kids can’t wait to come back!
The location to Yellowstone was awesome! Being just outside of the town of Gardiner made the locaton seem a bit rural and private. The property had a well stocked kitchen for cooking for a crowd. The rooms were spacious. The views were amazing.
This property has the best views and is the best VRBO property I have stayed. We had a small issue with the Wi-Fi at first but Sandy was on it and had it fixed within 24 hours and kept us up to date on the progress. This property is beautiful and it has that welcome home feeling. If I every get a chance to go back I would love to stay at this property again.
Loved our stay in this well-appointed home and grounds just north of Gardiner town center with near access to Yellowstone National Park. Stunning views from all rooms. Excellent kitchen and accoutrements, comfortable beds with nice linens, no clutter, excellent laundry, wonderful games and cozy spaces for children. Spotless. Hope to stay again. Many thanks.
