Firstly I'd like to start by saying we travel a lot and have never left a bad review on VRBO or the other platform we primarily use. We may have given this unit higher ratings if we were staying at Kaleialoha alone, however we were here for our daughters wedding and our friends and family were also staying at the complex with a total of nine (9) units. We were able to see all the other units in our party and ours (#409) was by far the worst. All the other guests in our party arrived to their units with air conditioning on and music playing. We arrived after a 6 hr delayed flight at night to a dark sweat box, air conditioning off and ceiling fans off. All the other units had key locks, ours had a key we had to constantly remember to bring with us and keep safe while snorkeling. All the other units had walk-in showers, ours had a tub with shower curtain that was moldy and kept coming off the rod and the tub and the tub faucet was loose on the wall so you had to hold it to pull up on the diverter. Most of the other units had updated silent AC and also an AC unit in the bedrooms. Ours was loud and barely cooled the place. The beds in the other units were kings with either pillow top or memory foam. The bed in 409 is a queen and the most uncomfortable bed we have ever slept in which we did not really get any sleep anyway because of the heat. I would not recommend this unit as there are many other better choices at Kaleialoha.

Great location! We watched whales from our balcony!!

Easy to rent, close to what i wanted with fewer crowds. Parking tight but reserved. A little dated- no TV in bedroom, but Private and restful stay.

Week in Maui

Great location with wonderful views and quiet neighborhood. Condo was perfect with for two people...well equipped and very comfortable. Assigned parking was nice...never had to find a spot. Had a small issue with the bathroom fan toward the end of our stay, but sounded like it would be addressed after we left. We would definitely recommend this condo to others.

The VIEWS!

The views from this condo is just breath-taking ... the beach off the property was ok but who cares when you have some of the best beaches in the world just 10-15 min away! The condo is dated and I was a little worried at first but Becky the property manager made Up for all the concerns. Even a day before Thanksgiving she was able to help us get a mattress swapped out for my kids on the sofa bed. Thanks Becky!

Location, Location, Location.......

No photography tricks used here, the pictures are 100% accurate.... It really that close to the ocean, the water really is that clear. My wife often gages how well she like her vacation by how many turtles she can see from the deck and this place made the "to many to count" list. It has a great location in terms of proximity to town and attractions as well as the ocean. The complex is well kept and quite, the unit has been updated and was VERY clean. When we did have a problem (things happen) the manger at Maui Footprints responded quickly and took care of it immediately.

Slightly disappointed

Condo #409 is directly behind the elevator so you get noise when it's in use (11pm-12am were a couple of experiences we had which woke us up). The bedroom wall is the wall against the elevator shaft. The bed in the bedroom is a queen size at most.

Rent it!

Yes, two words to summarize our stay in unit 409: rent it! We spent one week - too short a stay! - in Maui at the end of March and this unit made our trip to the island even more memorable. As soon as we opened the door, we saw this incredible view of the ocean - breathtaking! The condo is clean, quiet, the kitchen fully equipped and from the balcony, there were those amazing sunsets on the ocean, with the islands of Lana'i and Molokai on each side; and we did see whales in the distance and one morning, two big turtles... mating! Also, whenever I emailed or called for info, Becky was always quick to respond - great service! If we ever return to Maui, we sure hope to stay here again. Yes... Mahalo and Aloha!

The Sounds of the Ocean

The view from the 4th floor was AMAZING! If you enjoy the sound of crashing waves, this location is for you! So many turtles, some whales and even dolphins made their way past the condo. The condo was well equipped with necessities. The condo location was well within walking distance to food, shopping, coffee and grocery supplies. Great BBQs and community lounge chairs along the sea wall. Community laundry room however, this condo has a washer and dryer, just don’t overload. Beach chairs and cooler provided! Having said that, there was one deal breaker for me, the bed was very uncomfortable. I would recommend a new mattress or at the very least, a 3 to 4 inch mattress topper. The table chairs are quite broken in and made the table unusable for us. The frig water and ice are out of commission but we were okay with supplying those ourselves. I would argue that the condo doesn’t have air conditioning as the low window unit did little to cool the condo. However, the double screen doors allowed excellent air movement. A screen door on the front would improve the air movement. A reclining lounge chair on the lanai would have been amazing!!!! Overall, for the price, still well worth it for us!

Shabby infested place - Couldn't wait to leave

No A/C in the bedroom, no smoke alarms, fridge broken, chipped dishes and all mugs. Bits of floor moulding fallen. Sleep in the bedroom a constant ordeal: the heat, the weed smoke, the nasty ceiling fan and the infestation of bugs 15 nights – no cleaning offered mid-stay – despite the steep cleaning fee; we bought all cleaning products. Not even salt, or pepper left in the cupboards, or garbage bags – we needed extra large ones because of the bin provided. We stayed past the expiry of the heavy-duty insecticide spray we found hidden up high, because during the last few nights the place became infested with bugs: in the sheets and around the bedside lamp, on the ceiling, pretty much everywhere around light. And no, we didn’t keep the nets open or did anything different. I couldn’t use the spray because you had to leave the place to use it and we had spent our day away already. We spent our time on the balcony, looking at the waves through metal bars, because the chairs are not high enough. There is no beach anywhere near, you need a car. Also, the chairs and tables dwnstrs were taken from early morning and the noise gets louder than the waves, which is impressive. Property management is a joke. They never set foot in that place and had no clue. They either denied any help or promised everything and did nothing. I did get a text back telling me about how they handled the smoking issue. Best place we’ve stayed in Hawaii

The view was amazing, the management team was easy to connect with, the place was clean and nicely updated. We try to stay at a few different places when we come to Hawaii just to check out different areas and this is by far the best property we’ve stayed at.

Spectacular views, great home base!

My fiancé and I stayed in this condo for 8 days while visiting Maui. The views from this condo are absolutely spectacular! Whales, turtles, and gorgeous sunsets can all be viewed from the lanai. The condo is conveniently located and served as a great home base during our stay. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is I think this condo could use a little revamp, the carpet in the bedroom was heavily stained and there was a huge stain on the bathroom wall. Also some of the furniture as well as the cookware and dishes have seen better days, and the mattress was not the best. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and thought it was a great value!

Beautiful View

The view is a million dollar view! It was so nice to sit on the balcony and have breakfast, watch the sun come up and the turtles to arrive. The apartment had everything we needed, it was quiet and peaceful and centrally located. We prefer the Kahana side of the island and this is a great location. The building is a little older, but it is well maintained. I would not want more than 2 people or maybe a small child for the space. We enjoyed our stay, would definitely consider staying here again. Thanks!

Such an amazing condo!

This is everything the listing says and more - perfect for 2 or 3 people, turtles every morning right in front, the beach area access was washed out a bit so can be hard to get through, but the condo next door lets you go through their property to access. But the snorkelling is great right out front. The location is perfect - we will definitely stay here again when we return to Maui!
