Stayed for a week in late winter. Home was cozy and a great location to downtown. Perfect for a single person or couple who would prefer to walk to restaurants and shops. Home is pet friendly but kept very clean - I don't think most people would notice if they didn't have pets. We have 2 large dogs and it was perfect for my husband, them and I. The kitchenette area is small, so if you are someone who will be there for longer than a few days and plan to cook meals, may not be what you are looking for. But overall we really enjoyed our location and stay! Host checked in on us via text a couple times to make sure we were good and didn't need anything. Would stay again!
Cozy cottage with beautiful coastal decor. Thoughtful touches throughout that made our brief visit very comfortable. Bed and mattress were great we slept soundly. Air conditioning was fantastic after walking around in the heat! Very nice location as you can easily walk to restaurants and local shops within minutes. We would definitely recommend and stay here again.
The cottage was perfect for our needs. So quaint and comfortable. Easy parking and beautiful grounds. Very quiet and peaceful and it is tucked away. The property manager was very responsive to our questions. Thank you very much for making our stay so comfortable!
Loved the location. Cottage was quaint and a historical site. Very pet friendly. Lots to do in this wonderful town and not far from ocean beaches. Hosts were friendly, kind, and available when needed. We highly recommend The Cottageit!
First time in Apalachicola, and this place was a great little find, very easy to walk to town. No frills, just a quaint cottage, which is what we wanted.

Cute - Cute cottage! I hope to stay there again soon.
I was attending an event where sunup to sundown we were very busy. The cottage was a perfect place to relax and get a good night’s sleep at the end of each day. My hosts were very kind and responsive. I would definitely stay there again.
My husband & I enjoyed our stay @ the cottage. It was very clean & communication with the host was superb. We will definitely stay there again on our next getaway to Apalachicola. Highly recommend this property.
Evidently we are in a minority but our stay was bad from start to finish. Walk 50 yards to our “ cottage “ over brick walkways that were uneven. Wonder shutters and extension cords everywhere. I’ll stop with that….too much to include. We forfeited our second night and drove 450 miles home.

Jack, we’re sorry to hear our historic cottage wasn’t what you expected. As described in the listing and shown in the photos, the home is intentionally preserved with its original character and charm — which means it may feel more rustic (or as you described it via text “primitive”) compared to modern accommodations. We also understand that you would have preferred two TVs. We make it clear that there is one television and that the cottage offers a simpler experience focused on history and relaxation. We always encourage guests to review the full description and photos before booking to ensure the property is a good fit for their needs. We appreciate your feedback and wish you the best in finding accommodations that better match your preferences in the future. A two star review is very disappointing as we work hard to preserve the Historic Chapman House and provide guests with a wonderful experience.
I have been visiting Apalachicola for years but my friend had never been. I found this cottage on Vrbo and it looked perfect for a restful couple of days to get away. The cottage was perfect , clean & comfortable. Very quiet and close to everything. Would definitely stay again and again. Owners were so easy to deal with , we had no problems.
