About John Fogarty

Jersey Shore lovers. We have owned properties in the Cape May vicinity for over 30 years and have shared Baybreeze Cottage with hundreds of families for over 8 years. We look forward to welcoming you as our guests.

John Fogarty purchased this house in 1987

Why John Fogarty chose Southern Shore Region

Very unique setting in the sand dunes of the Delaware Bay. One of only a few locations to see incredible sunsets over the water on the East Coast. Cozy, modern and comfortable with an incredible screen porch. You are sitting beach front in comfort.

What makes this house unique

Private beach, great location

Guestbook comments from the owner

....we had one of our best family vacations to date at your home. We so enjoyed the house and the location. Your screened in outdoor room is just wonderful, we spent a great deal of time there and many hours on the beach collecting stones and saving stranded horseshoe crabs…We also enjoyed the outdoor shower immensely, I didn't take one shower indoors the whole week. Your home also provided the vacation that I wanted for my Mom, she

was able to sit and look out at the ocean, wander the beach, and collect sea

stones to her hearts content…As for the town, Cape May is just gorgeous the Victorians and the hydrangeas everywhere- so quaint. We also went to the lighthouse, the Nature Conservancy bird preserve, the Nature Center, Sunset Beach, The Garage, and of course the swimming beach in town. We simply fell in love with the area and have so many more things we wanted to do there that we couldn't fit in. We will definitely be back to the area and understand why you would want a vacation home there. Thanks again for sharing with us, your home and the area are truly gems and allowed us to create lasting memories!!

Vacation became a Staycation

  • 4 of 5

We had an amazing time at the Baybreeze Cottage. We were welcomed by a gorgeous sunset on the back porch before we even entered the house. That's when we decided it would be worth it for us to just enjoy the cottage on the beach instead of venturing out. We cooked on the grill every day, took walks on the beach, had sunset dinners and watched the guests fly in an out of the bird hotel.

Logistics - entrance is through the back porch, you have to bring all linens and towels, Rte. 47 runs north and south not east and west, you cannot walk barefoot to the beach.

Charming, clean, cozy cottage w/ wonderful views

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from a wonderful Easter weekend in this charming cottage on the bay. Owner John responds quickly to questions & worked with us on a leisurely Easter Sunday checkout. Very tidy - bravo to your cleaning service! We very much enjoyed sunsets on the beach with short & easy access to the water - a plus for my mom. As it was off season and a bit cool for much of our stay, we didn't get to spend much time on the porch but I can definitely see people practically living there in warmer weather. Easy drive to Cape May and the ocean. Amenities were as listed and even a few extras. Would highly recommend this property.

Fantastic owners! Beautiful property!

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for a relaxing vacation minutes from the Wildwood and Cape May beaches, this is your place! Our family of 6 stayed here for a week and enjoyed every second. The sunsets each night were gorgeous and that porch!! Anytime we spent in the house was on that awesome porch. Having stayed at several different homes over the years, I can say that no other home can match Baybreeze Cottage in the attention to detail. John and Lynn have thought of EVERYTHING. I really appreciated how quickly John responded to my questions leading up to our vacation. It is obvious John and Lynn take pride in their lovely home and care about the experience of their renters. Also, this is by far the cleanest rental property I have ever seen! Overall an excellent property for a wonderful family vacation.

Very cosy and quiet !

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at the Bay Breeze cottage first week of April. The cottage was very cosy and very well decorated. We felt at home the minute we walked in! We enjoyed the beautiful sunsets on the huge veranda and the naps in the hammac ! The cottage is well located: quiet neighborhood and still not far from downtown Cape May. The King size bed was very comfortable. We surely hope to have the chance to go back sometimes.

Nature lovers oasis

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I are nature lovers at heart but stationed in the city. This was the perfect vacation to unplug and enjoy peace and tranquility. We loved dining on the porch and watching the sunset. There was plenty to see close by if we wanted to see the sights...Cape May Point S.P. was our favorite. Also loved seeing the Monarch Butterflies because the town I grew up in California (Pacific Grove) was a Monarch migration point as well. Also loved seeing all of the Victorians in Cape May. Very glad we went during the off season, it felt like we had the whole town to ourselves. If we never make it back to New Jersey, we are completely satisfied with our visit to Lower Township and the Cape May area. We feel very blessed after a week of relaxing at Bay Breeze Cottage!
