The property is amazing. The view is wonderful. The house was the nicest house any of us have ever rented. Several of the ladies on our girls trip want to rent it for a family trip. I highly recommend this place. Thanks for an amazing trip.

Very lovely spot. Love the wrap-around porch. Kids and grandkids enjoyed the house and neighborhood. Close enough to good hiking, biking, and the river.

We arrived to find a glorious cabin, spotlessly clean, with more amenities than any other rental chalet or cabin we've ever visited! Multiple beds in several rooms, plenty of space for grandkids to run around. Our grandsons immediately found the foosball, ping pong, and the arcade PacMan game, and they were off in their own little world. I wasn't sure there were fish in the pond, but a couple of casts with my fly rod alleviated that concern! We caught largemouth bass (catch and release) for four straight days. Took the trail behind the lodge down to the community fire pit, and visited New River State Park one afternoon. Overall, it was the best possible property for our needs, and everything we could've asked for in utensils, cookware, coffee makers, and towels. We are definitely going to return, perhaps with more of the grandkids and a couple more adults. There's certainly plenty of room! Fantastic rental property!

The entire family had a wonderful time at this beautiful place. The pictures do not do it justice. This was my first time using vrbo and this experience certainly sets the bar extremely high. We appreciate the hosts sharing this amazing home with others.

We had a wonderful time at this cabin. It was very spacious for our family (we had 11 for our trip) and very clean. The kids loved the ping pong table downstairs and fishing in the private pond behind the house. My son caught a very large catfish and lots of bass. We enjoyed walking the neighborhood and going down to the river. Our host was wonderful and very responsive. We cooked every night and the kitchen had everything we needed. We also loved the decorations and homey feel of the cabin. I give this home a 10/10! Thanks Tana!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Running Doe Lodge! The floor plan was excellent for our family of nine, and the property was very easy to access with plenty of parking.We especially appreciated the abundance of king-sized beds, well-stocked kitchen, fishing pond, and the many family-friendly games available on site. We caught quite a few bass using worms—and unfortunately, one snapping turtle that managed to snap the line before we could retrieve the hook! Hopefully, he was able to spit it out and live a long, healthy life in that beautiful pond.The linens were comfortable, the decor was exceptional, and we really enjoyed using the gas grill and relaxing on the incredible 360-degree wraparound porch. The views from every side were beautiful. The large kitchen table comfortably accommodated our family of nine, and we especially appreciated having a high chair available for our toddler.We also enjoyed a family outing to downtown West Jefferson after visiting Glendale Ridge Farms for a VIP farm tour. The tour was fantastic—we got to feed and learn about chickens, goats, sheep, alpacas, and even a very friendly donkey!We hope to return again in the future. Running Doe Lodge has plenty of room to accommodate our growing multigenerational family, which makes it an especially great fit for us.Thank you for sharing such a wonderful property with guests and for the excellent job you do keeping it clean, comfortable, and so well maintained.

Check in was easy, because of the keyless entry and communication from our host providing all the information we needed. We loved the wraparound porch with ample deck furniture and outdoor grill. We also enjoyed the fire pit. So nice for sitting around and sharing stories and memories. The kitchen was large and very well stocked. The views were lovely, and we appreciated being in quiet and peaceful surroundings. Great spot, great hosts, plenty of parking too

Home is beautifully decorated and stocked with all items needed. Beds slept very well.Location perfect. As a law enforcement family we have few times where all can come together and unplug as a family. This home exceeded our expectation and we all had a relaxing time.
