Why Patricia Rust chose South Oahu
I bought this 'Dream of Aloha' to live in myself. I must have looked at a kajillion condos and having lived in Hawaii I knew them all! The Ilikai has the others beat hands down! And mine has the perfect view! I asked the hotel desk which was best and they said '28's and that's the one I bought for me! I decorated it with the finest money could buy but circumstances didn't allow me to live there yet so I am using it as a vacation rental so that other people can enjoy it in the meanwhile. I keep the rate competitive and I like making new friends from all over the world!
What makes this condo unique
Convenient to everything, this location can't be beat! Shopping, swimming, surfing -- everything is at your fingertips! It doesn't get any better than this! There is a reason everyone from Elvis to our Presidents have stayed here. And it is gorgeous, well run, and the new relaxation pool can't be beat! It's a one of a kind!

We just returned from a 2 week stay in Honolulu staying at the Ilikai apartment 1128. We are a family of 5 but travelled as 3 on this Occassion. This was our second visit to Honolulu with a 25 year gap between visits. After much research and consideration, we decided to stay in Patricia's apartment as we felt it would offer us a comfortable stay with the niceties of a home not too far from Waikiki. The apartment was well furnished and clean with great views. The balcony was lovely to walk out onto in the morning to carry out a surf report and enjoy a few drinks before going out for dinner. The Ilikai is well positioned for those using public transport as there is a bus stop right out front. The apartment also comes well stocked with plenty of towels, soaps, shampoos, toilet paper and linen. We were also afforded an early check in, thank you again Patricia for accomodating this for us. We'll be back.

We remodeled another condo here # 560792 and it was so successful that we decided to do this one, too. It is a few floors below in the same stack and we did this in a different color scheme of aquas for the ocean and greys to relax and soothe. Everything you can need or want is provided and we aim for the personal touch with a full kitchen, hair drier, and your detergent and fabric softener. lol Morimoto, a top restaurant on the island vies with Sarentos for that honor maybe with one or two others but they are both right here! You can club there or watch the fireworks from the best view in town -- 1928 which faces them directly! Wow!!!
Kayaking and paddleboats are available in the newly done Duke Kahanamoku lagoon outside with its private beach right next to the ocean's beach where you can surf, snorkel, and ride outrigger canoes! There is also a Catamaran and you can decide what to do from your condo -- do your own surf report -- do all the sports -- you'll never want to leave. Everything is just a short walk from your condo! The shuttle takes you to the outlet mall and across the street is world famous Ala Moana Shopping Center. The property is located at the beginning of the Waikiki beach walk which takes you to Diamond Head along the beach on one side and along world class shops on the other. The grounds are lovely and the glass elevator takes you to the top of the Ilikai for great dining or drinks and entertainment. Choose surfing, snorkeling, swimming, boating, paddle-boating, sunning, all right outside your door in the pool, lagoon, or ocean -- all the facilities and equipment are there and available to and for you!!!! Plus, being in such sophisticated surroundings, you may never want to venture out, but if you do, you'll find everything a stone's throw away! And, it's as quiet as a country lake.

Apartment and stay every thing we wished for
We had 8 memorable nights in Patricia's apartment 1928 in June 2017. The apartment was everything the photos showed. Great facilities, very clean, modern and well equipped with loads of towels and nice furnishings. A great view of the lagoon. The wifi speed was excellent and always worked.
The Ilikai Hotel facilities were great. Two nice swimming pools, always able to get a lounger and good food in and around the complex including the Cinnamon restaurant and a top floor restaurant. We liked the location within a short walk to the Ala Moana Centre shops and supermarket. The lagoon and beach was an easy walk across the walkway. Many varying priced restaurants were close nearby (including a McDonalds) across the road.
We would recommend this apartment and the hotel for its good location and facilities.
Beautiful condo
Our family of four stayed one week in March. The condo was very clean and tastefully remodeled especially the bathroom. The condo is light and spacious with one wall all glass. We loved being able to open the glass doors wide while enjoying having coffee on the balcony in the morning and watching the luau show across the street in the evenings. The owner was correct in that the best seat for watching the fireworks on
Friday night was from the balcony. The king bed is very comfortable and our college age kids found the sofa bed to be quite comfortable. We didn't use the pool as we were too busy exploring the island each day hiking and playing in the ocean. There was a beach mat, sun umbrella, beach chairs as well as a boogie board available for use. There are
coin operated laundry facilities nearby on the same floor. You can get quarters, laundry soap and paper products at the ABC Superette across the street. We rented a car and used the valet parking at the Ilikai and the valet service was excellent and very convenient with in and out privileges.
The condo has been updated and is beautiful and very comfortable.
We spent a week at Patricia's condo while my husband worked near the airport. It was a perfect location for us and we were very comfortable there. I love how clean it was and the decor was very fresh and updated. The view of the lagoon and that portion of the beach are great - and the fireworks! This end of the beach is nice too. We walked all the way down toward Diamond Head and this end felt less busy but there is still a lot of fun stuff to do. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is it would be nice to have a little cooking oil and salt and pepper in the condo - just the bare minimum would help for basic cooking. The market right in the building is very convenient and the Food Pantry has tons of take out and pre-made items that don't require any prep. There are 2 car rental places right across the street and Patricia kindly left us a bottle of wine and coffee! I would stay there again.
Lovely modern condo in perfect location. Beautiful views of the lagoon and fireworks.
Our host was so accommodating and nothing was too big an ask, especially after a long flight from NZ. The condo was perfect and well equipped for the two of us and in a great location, close to the mall, nice restaurants and beach. Would definitely stay here again on our return
Beautiful room with a view
The room is in the Ilikai hotel which is located a 6 min walk to ala moana mall, and a 20 min walk to the "strip" on Waikiki. Very near many stores and restaurants. The room is totally renovated with a beautiful and stocked kitchen and bathroom. Many towels and all supplies. The bed is a very comfortable king size, the TV gets hundreds of channels and the wifi is good. The room has a view of the beach and diamond head . It was perfect for 2 people. The beach is a 5 min walk. There is a pool, but we did not use it. The aircon on works very well. The owner was excellent at getting back to us for all questions. We would stay there again.
Very nice unit!
The Ilikai is in a great location. 6 min walk to ala moana mall, and 20 min walk to " the strip" of Waikiki.
Plenty of stores and places to eat within a short walking distance. The hotel is a 5 min walk to the beach., and the hotel has a nice area near the lobby to sit outside at tables to socialize .
The room has a lovely view of the ocean, and diamond head. The room has been renovated very well. The kitchen is beautiful and has everything you would need. The bed is a king size, and is very comfortable. The TV gets lots of channels and the wifi works well.
The unit was very clean.
The bathroom is also new , and the shower is very nice.
We would defiantly stay there again.
