2nd stay at Gite de Lou

A 2nd holiday with Christine and David at the beautiful le gite de lou. This for us is the perfect home from home with every convenience catered for. The swimming pool is always clean and well presented as are the gite and gardens. The hosts Christine & David are approachable and attentive without being intrusive. You really couldn't find a better place to stay.

Lovely gîte

Gorgeous gîte with everything we needed. Lovely outdoor space too for relaxing and eating outside. We enjoyed the pool too. Our hostess was lovely and helped to make our stay special.

Lovely place to stay

We had a wonderful stay at the property which was very clean, warm, comfortable and has a lovely, private swimming pool. It is a great place to explore the nearby towns such as Cognac, Limoges, Angouleme and many interesting small villages. Christine was extremely kind and helpful and we have no hesitation in recommending it if you are considering a holiday in this area.

Perfect!

This is a lovely gite, perfect for a relaxing holiday and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Christine is an excellent host- and a master of the perfect tiramisu!! Wish we could have stayed longer than a week.

Little Gem

Perfect place to relax, enjoy the pool. Very clean, everything you need. Great host. Enjoyed flowers and cake delivered to our door, nice touch. Great Golf and Restaurants near by.

A warm welcome! Stunning accommodation!

Alan and Maggie excellent host made our stay fun and pleasurable, gite very well equipt with everything you need for a holiday! Maggie makes a mean home made quiche! Nice swimming in the pool, we had the pool all to ourselves! Pure luxury, would highly recommend!

Summer holiday

We were looking for somewhere to relax after a stressful year this ticked the box and we could not of picked a better place to stay. Christine the host was amazing and so helpful the gite had everything we needed the was lavender all around it which helped us to relax. The swimming pool was lovely to cool off in after a day of sightseeing. We will definitely be looking to come back and stay again.

Lovely gite

The gite was immaculate and very clean. Everything you could need was there but Christine said that anything we needed to just say and she would try to get it (never needed to ask for anything). Christine is a fabulous host even going as far as leaving us baked goods and fresh tomatoes and herbs from her garden. Thank you Christine for a fantastic stay at your gite.

Beautiful Gite

We have stayed in many places in South West France over the years and this was by far the best. Immaculately clean with a heated private pool. The owners Christine and David were extremely friendly and helpful and on hand if we needed anything, but respected privacy. A very quite beautiful location, we honestly couldn’t have asked for more, we will return.

Delightful

The gite was perfect. A very high standard of accommodation throughout in a beautiful and peaceful setting. The pool was a delight and ideal for relaxation. The local area was lovely, with all that was needed and not far from Angouleme for an interesting visit. Alan and Maggie were very helpful and lovely to chat to.

A Little Piece of Paradise

This was a wonderful gite, beautifully furnished internally with charm and style. Everything has been thought of to make a relaxing stay. The outside area was also excellent - comfortable lounge furniture and barbeque together with pretty gardens and of course the superb pool. Maggie and Alan were excellent hosts and made us feel like welcome guests. We had a fantastic stay and would have no hesitation in recommending this gite to anyone.

A lovely private gite and pool

Had a fantastic relaxing 2 weeks at this lovely private gite. The weather was extremely hot, so we were extremely grateful for the amazing pool which was one of the cleanest we've visited. We would like to thank Alan and Maggie for being wonderful hosts giving complete privacy but being on hand when you needed them with lots of information on the local area. Certainly one of the best places we've stayed. Would definitely recommend it.

First time in Charente

Gite du Lou exceeded our expectations in every way and more than lived up to the photos and description of the property. Christine and David were the perfect hosts. Informative, friendly and gracious. Christine offers a range of massages and I'd definitely recommend this for a relaxing experience. We would whole heartedly recommend this gite for a relaxing holiday and thank you once again Christine for the lovely desserts 😋😀

Excellent accommodation; comfortable, clean, well furnished and nicely decorated

For me it had to be the gardens and private heated pool that made a fabulous and relaxing 2 week holiday. Maggie and Alan looked after us extremely well, nothing was too much trouble. The gite is not far from the towns of Montbron and La Rochefoucauld, and there are plenty of other places to visit in the area - Cognac, Jarnac, Rochechouart, Chabanais (husband's favourite) to name but a few. We would definitely recommend this property and hope to return in the not too distant future.

Holiday at Le Gite de Lou

We spent an enjoyable week at this lovely gite which is an ideal place if you are looking for a peaceful and tranquil holiday. Christine was the perfect host and made sure we were made welcome in this beautifully presented gite. The pool was cleaned every day and we really appreciated swimming as we had very hot weather for most of our stay. We spent many an evening outside on the patio enjoying watching the sun go down. We would highly recommend this lovely gite for a quiet relaxing holiday and hope to return in the future.

Tranquil, restful, beautiful gite

What a lovely gite, with everything you could wish for and more. The countryside around is stunning, ideal for re-charging your batteries. Shops and restaurants a short drive away. Swimming pool great and heated, even better. Maggie and Alan there to advise, when needed, both very friendly but not intrusive hosts. We had such a lovely week. Thank you. Lee and Paula Dorset.

Beautiful Gite in a beautiful area 😊

Great little Gite with everything you could possibly need for a two week holiday or longer. The bed was lovely and comfy and the en-suite bathroom with shower and all towels provided was great. A welcome pack consisting of milk, bread, butter, eggs and wine was a real bonus and lovely surprise, everything you may need (and possibly forgotten to pack) was there. The outdoor area was beautiful and immaculately looked after and the pool was amazing, always uncovered and ready for us to use any time of the day and always perfectly clean.

Fantastic place with wonderful swimmingpool

Maggie and Allan are very nice people, very welcoming yet very discrete. The house had everything we needed. the fridge was filled with wine, beer, eggs, ... There was bread and jam. The wonderful swimmingpool, for us 2!, was cleaned every morning and very well heated. The only minus I can say is the poor wifi in the house, but connection is much better at the pool. We really enjoyed our holiday!

Beautiful, charming and tranquil sum up this holiday gite perfectly. We were absolutely honoured to be able to stay here and will not hesitate booking again. Maggie and Alan are the perfect hosts who are on hand to offer recommendations, suggestions and local tips but remain completely out of your way if you are looking for privacy. Their out door pool is the cleanest and best kept we’ve ever been in and you get complete sole use of it during the stay. If you are looking for somewhere to relax, energise, see wonderful wildlife, re charge your batteries and feel completely in your own space, this is the gite for you.
