About the host
Hosted by Jessica Camino
I am Mexican born in Mexico City, I run another small cookie business in Mexico City and live with my husband José, 3 dogs and Mia, my lovely cat. I love the arts, so I paint, write and create whatever I can. I lived in Italy for several years and worked in the United Nations where I discovered my attraction for different cultures and my passion to Travel. I enjoy people and love serving others while in my home. I really enjoy the idea of people coming and spending lovely days and nights at Tamarindos 169.
Why they chose this property
I have been visiting the beautiful coast of Oaxaca since my early 20´s when I landed there almost by a "mistake", since then all I ever wanted was to have a house and be able to visit more often. Since we do not have children, I built my house in a way that could give privacy and individual space to each person, so that people from all over the world could spend some time enjoying it and hopefully loving it as much as I do. My House was bought in February 2019, with 3/4 of the land empty, I started remodeling it with Brigido, my handyman, so with my ideas and his working hands, we built together what you can enjoy today. What I love from this land is that it is in a quiet area, no bars and restaurants but yet it is in the center of my favorite beach, Zicatela. So everything is very close but still can enjoy quiet nights and empty beach space which is why I fell in love with Zicatela 30 years ago.
What makes this property unique
When I first decided to buy a property in Puerto Escondido, I was so sure that I wanted a house with a view to the sea, the more houses I saw, the more I realized that I wanted to hear the sound of the sea and be able to walk to the beach. I spent months looking and finally found Tamarindos 169. It was a little apartment with many trees around, fresh wind while in the kitchen and this feeling of being so close to the sea. The parota trees in front and the local trees "Guamuchil" in the land with iguanas and squirrels coming up and down, made me feel in the middle of the jungle. I loved the open spaces and the fact that it was so near from the beach that I could finally hear the sound of the sea that is so strong and imposing in Zicatela. It didn’t have the view but had the sea only a few steps away, so I bought it hoping I could scale some floors and finally get my view, which I did at the end of last year when we finished building the terrace at the Palapa! So all in all, I have everything I was looking for with this house that has become my dream come true!
