This spot was ideal for us. Beauty, privacy, quiet, comfort. We used it as a base camp for exploring the Adirondacks. Felt remote but nearby North Creek had everything we needed. We had glorious weather and were outside most of the time, but the cabin was big enough for reading and playing games if we had needed to be inside more.
We loved everything about our paradise in “Bossie” especially the attention to detail. Our favorites were the window seat and waking up to a view beyond belief everyday. Our morning coffee and muffins with Leslie was appreciated and delicious. Would like to return and to stay longer.
Hobby Farm is a beautiful place to stay in the Adirondacks--lovely cabins, clay-oven pizza, herb and flower gardens, Japanese hot tub, and two extremely capable and kind hosts in Leslie and Emeline, who have pretty much built the whole place themselves.
Amazing cabin with beautiful views outside and beautiful decor inside. Everything went smoothly from check-in to check-out. Great location for all types of winter sports. Highly recommend.
Just as described. Loved the cabin. Beautiful views. Perfectly stocked with cooking utensils and pans that finally aren’t beat up teflon. One of the best rentals we have ever stayed in. Hot tub was a huge plus. Looking forward to returning.
This was our second time at the Bossie Camp...my wife, myself and our Lab Charlie. It's such a nice and comfortable place. Very quaint and quiet. The view of the mountains in the distance is beautiful, as is the sunrise through the front window. Great place to just decompress. We can't wait to go back.
We absolutely loved staying here, the pictures honestly don't do it justice. The cabin was beautiful and had the most gorgeous view. Huge windows that let you wake up to a view of the mountains. Cabin had everything we needed to cook, shower, sleep, etc. The spa was a super fun addition and was super relaxing. Brick over pizza on the main compound is a must! Would highly recommend staying here!
cute place that is pleasantly isolated ,well furnished and efficient. good shower mini kitchen. wonderful bedding and warm enough for the Minus 4 we had one morning

About the host
Hosted by Leslie a Clement
Through lucky circumstances and financial help from my family, I own a precious 40 acres atop a mountain in the Adirondacks with a small cluster of buildings including my great-grandparents’ century-old Bird Camp, four glamping tents and several cabins I have built in the last few years.
I have the honor to host vacationing guests who come to the Adirondack Mountains from all over the world, and who leave with generous notes of thanks and lovely reviews for having had the opportunity to live as I do with my children now, and as my grandparents and great-parents once did here. We treasure our farm-like setting reminiscent of an 1800’s farm with pleasant meadows, beautiful mountain views and brilliant star-filled nights, and I am grateful to my family for helping us preserve this special place.
Why they chose this property
As a child, our family came here to this property for summer vacations just like the previous generations had. But owning property with multiple family members took its toll and the two camps (Bird Camp and Mullon Camp where we live) deteriorated --- no one wanted to share the costs of upkeep, taxes and improvement and soon it was only me who visited or tried to maintain things. It took 20 years but eventually I was able to buy out (or barter with ) all the other owners.
Shortly thereafter, my husband and I got divorced, and I sought emotional and physical healing in the Adirondacks. Seven years ago, I moved from western Massachusetts to the mountains, put my daughters in the local school and got to work with my tools to make all the restorations and improvements. I tried a number of ways to earn a living up here (builder, real estate broker, etc), none of which panned out, but luckily I realized how many wonderful people long to visit the Adirondacks and stay in a cozy cabin.
My father in the last year of his life financed construction of our four glamping tents, the Lodge and the Bath House. Then with financial help from my brother Thomas, I bought 40 acres of beautiful land abutting the original property. Gorgeous mountain views and open meadows were reclaimed by clearing trees, and the historic Shields Road which accesses this portion of the land has been rebuilt. Originally I intended to build single family homes for sale, but the evolved to retaining all the land the building, as finances permit, sweet rental cabins (Camp HudsonView, Camp TwoSome, Camp Lillian and Camp Bossie), walking trails and this year, a fabulous Japanese temple with a cedar hot tub.
I am grateful that I’ve had fascinating professional and personal experiences. I’ve had the chance to build beautiful projects. I am lucky to live in an insanely beautiful wild place, and I have a small business offers interesting challenges and rewards.
