Located in a private community at Dillon Beach with beach access, water views, and a private backyard, Whale Tail Bahay is the perfect vacation home. Located in Marin County, Northern California, just 1:30 minutes from San Francisco international airport and 1:15 minutes from Oakland, easily accessible from the Bay Area or around the world.

Amenities include: Hot tub; private fenced in backyard; gas grill; fire pit; beach access; surfing; pet friendly; tv/ internet; washer/ dryer; equipt kitchen; foosball, poker table, board games.

Our house at Dillon Beach serves as a great jumping-off point for day trips and adventures of the California coast, Wine Country, and Marin.

If you have a large family, book it! The upstairs loft-style room was a hit with the kids. They had a blast being all together for the duration of our stay. Good-sized backyard with fire pit and plenty of seating. I've stayed at lots of Dillon Beach vacation rentals over the last 20 years. This one is in my top 5 for sure! Will definitely book again. A

Great beach house getaway for two families. The location is awesome with an easy (rocky and steep in places but doable for small kids and healthy grandparents) path right down to the beach, and also walkable to the general store and local restaurant. The kitchen was really well stocked and we had plenty of linens, towels, and warm water. Hot tub was lovely after a day in the waves and the indoor fireplace was the perfect accompaniment to reading and chilling in the morning.

We seriously enjoyed the hot tub, the kitchen was well stocked and plenty of clean sheets and towels! The beach was a special treat and the fur babies loved checking out the wildlife in the area. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful place!

I love this house! It has a unique layout that was so perfect for our group. The two upstairs bedrooms, with 7 beds total, was ideal for my teenage son and his friends, while my husband was able to use the second downstairs bedroom as an office. The house is decorated with fun, cool art and whimsical fabrics and furniture that make it feel special without being precious. The location and orientation of the house to the ocean is hard to beat: unobstructed sunset views from inside the home and both decks! And an easy walk to the beach and General Store. My interactions with the owner were stellar; she was prompt with her responses and helpful beyond expectation. We will be back!!

We absolutely loved our thanksgiving beach weekend!

The location is amazing and the main living area is cozy with a perfect large farm-like table to enjoy board games and a nice morning cup of coffee with a spectacular view! The hot tub was lovely too. We hope to return.

Beautiful view

Cabin is very clean, spacious bedrooms, and a beautiful view. Only thing missing was the remote to the living room tv, but with the view, didn’t really matter! Nice back yard, deer and a raccoon visited next door while we enjoyed the hot tub! Very quiet street. Overall, a great place!

Great location. Quick walk to the beach. Clean and comfortable with everything you need in the kitchen. Nice fenced back yard with a grill. We had a great time.

Jenn grew up in San Francisco and Ryan grew up in Pittsburgh, PA moved to SF in his early 20s. We currently reside in Marin County with our son and two English Bulldogs. Ryan grew up watching surf and skate videos from California and always dreamed of having a CA beach house. Jenn, a born and raised city girl fell in love with the natural beauty and serenity of Dillon Beach.

It is a quintessential California Beach House built in 1968 by the developer of the community. We love that the home has history and character. The developer picked the location for the views, the stability of the land, and the 100+-year-old cypress tree that shades the property. The backyard is large and private which we love and additionally, the front porches are great for morning coffee, afternoon wine, and gorgeous sunsets.

The floorplan is efficient and open yet provides plenty of room for sleep and allowing everyone to have their own space. This makes the property great for groups.

This is the best location in Dillon Beach because you are a 1-minute walk to the beach path. Unlike the crowded town with no parking or the properties on the hill that get caught in the fog and are not walkable to the beach or town. Whale Tail Bahay is accessible to town and the beach on foot, plus it has parking for 4 cars. Once you arrive you don't have to get back in your car until you leave.

And the unobstructed views are spectacular!
