We rented the cabin for a few nights to celebrate NYE. The space was perfect for our group and the scenery was beautiful. Great for a cozy snowy getaway.
Had a wonderful stay in this super clean home! Enjoyed the hot tub and beautiful surroundings after skiing all day. Plenty of room and had all you would ever need! We will be back!
Perfect for a girls getaway to just escape the crazy world

Hi, John. Thank you for providing us with this valuable feedback. We are glad to hear you enjoyed the location of our home. We thank you for your feedback, as it helps us improve our guests' experiences. We look forward to welcoming you back for another fabulous getaway in the future.
This home was very clean and had everything we needed. It was very close to town and also to Schweitzer Mountain, which was the reason for our stay. The hot tub was an excellent addition after a day on the mountain.
Definitely recommend for a winter getaway!
Had a really great time here! The private beach was really rocky and very busy but we were able to find a boat rental on a hot weekend. The property manager was attentive to our questions and check in was easy and hassle free. The road up and down the mountain was a little treacherous but I was a pro by the end of the trip!
Spent 2 days here on the way back home from a week in Banff. Secluded, new and clean. Not tub worked great. It was a bit out of town up a windy dirt road but made for a nice secluded spot.
Blah blah I despise click through stuff so all I ’ll say is “GREAT” now leave me alone, have a blessed day

Pros and Cons
Well, we will stay here again. But we did have some hiccups.
The hot tub is broken. Useable our 1st night and not the rest. Ice tub in a snow storm.
They plowed the long downhill driveway the first morning, but after confirming with Vacasa on that happening again with a huge 20 inch snowstorm approaching, it didn’t happen. So we had to dig out some snow to get out. Bring your shovel, flashlight, and chains if you go in winter. Think sharp uphill turns for 1 mile. Passed some stuck trucks with people who lived there going up. Would have been stuck too without chains.
The home is like a hotel. Bare bones. 1 remote for all tvs. 1 small coffee pot. No dvds or player as listed. So bring your own throw blankets, board games, anything extra. The listing was off on some things like that. Some bed rooms had no curtains or blinds-so you will be happy you have extra blankets to drape places to sleep!
That being said, what an amazing view! Panoramic stunning. House is newer construction. Had the hot tub worked we would have been in heaven. Still had fun hiking and playing in tons of snow. Watched Netflix. Played board games. Was “snowed” in for sure. Just pack your own cozy and we will be back provided they fix the hot tub and knowing that even if Vacasa confirms plowing that isn’t probably accurate. Also, couldn’t get to the rental on time because of a fallen load blocking the only road. So I will pack a chain saw next time too.

Hi, Casie! Thank you for choosing to stay with us. It's great to hear you enjoyed your stay. The other two remotes were discovered wedged in the couch. There is no DVD player, but there are three smart TVs where you can easily watch movies across different platforms and apps. We will replace those curtains that went missing in the one bedroom. Thank you!
We stayed 8 nights in February. The house kept us warm and dry (but annoyed), we were able to make our dinners, and the privacy was wonderful. However, I would not recommend staying for longer than a weekend.
Here are my recommendations for improvement:
- The beds are all thin memory foam mattresses on cheap metal frames. They are very noisy and not particularly comfortable (and low to the ground).
- Combine that with very thin walls and floors/ceilings, don't plan to sleep much if you have someone in the loft or room above you. You can hear everything. A metal water bottle falling over sounds like a small explosion..
- Kitchen needs to be better stocked. We had no fry pan (Vacasa brought us 2), one burnt cookie sheet, one small saucepan (about 2qts) and one giant 8qt pot. Don't plan on baking. The utensils look like they were pilfered from a cafeteria and there are very few plates, bowls, cups, utensils so we had to run the dishwasher twice a day (5 of us). They had 1 wine glass (that part was funny).
- The small dining table only has 4 chairs for a house that sleeps a lot more. We had to bring a rolling desk chair up from the cold basement and squish it around the table.
- The doors were very creaky. Vacasa brought us WD-40 for us to fix that ourselves.
- The windows either don't have curtains or too small of curtains (don't cover when fully stretched). Upper bedroom had a rod, but no curtain so we had to use the two thin fleece blankets from the couch. The high/angled windows have a very wrinkly tinting film over them. Ugly, but it helped.
- I am a little too old to keep all of my clothes on the floor. No shelves, no bookcases, no dressers. Only a few hangers (Vacasa brought more), but not even a stool to put my luggage up on. Terrible for a long stay.
- There are no rugs, except two tiny ones in front of shower. It is a very cold laminate floor (fake wood) throughout the whole house. In fact, there is no artwork, no knick knacks. It is a cold looking house. Not cozy.
- The basement has concrete floors. Don't count on that 'bonus' room with futon to be inhabitable.
- The wifi is satellite, but it is very slow (ok for the tv though). Had to do computer work via our cellphone hotspots.
- House needs a welcome kit with map of property as it was advertised to have acreage.
Positives:
- Vacasa responded right away.
- The heating system and fireplace are great.
- Kitchen isn't well stocked, but the appliances worked just fine.

Thank you for your review, Sarah. We are pleased that you stayed with us and are sorry to see that the home fell short of your expectations. We brought your comments to the attention of the local staff and they will work with the owner to perform any updates that are needed. We do keep the window foil on the windows due to, the house getting extremely hot in the summer. It is very difficult to put on those big high windows so we apologize for the ugliness but they are effective. There are more cooking sheets and pots and pans under the island. The internet was having issues but has since been addressed. We hope that we have another opportunity in the future to better impress you. Thank you!
The location and neighborhood is top notch. Place was comfortable much like a very large hotel suite. Not super homey. With just a little bit of money and thought, they could charge way more. It’s missing things like more indoor seating, hooks, outdoor seating/umbrella or sail shade, carpets, lamps, dimmers just things that make a place comfortable. Lots of stairs that are steep and narrow, carpet on stairs would help. It was clean, super convenient, had fun games to play, and Roku tvs were easy to use. Overall a good place to stay.

Lovely house
Loved the fireplace and kitchen. Great location. However, you need a 4 wheel drive to get to this house in winter. Don’t consider it if you don’t. Loved it!

Nice but misleading location
Hello,
I'm writing to follow up on my recent stay at this property. We appreciated how clean the space was, but were very disheartened to find one of the loft's cable rails was missing. This is extremely dangerous for children and it rendered the upstairs unusable for us with my daughter, a toddler. I'm shocked that you found this to be an appropriate condition to rent out,, and implore you to fix this before renting to anyone else.
Another frustration from the trip was the misinformation provided regarding the beach. When choosing where to stay, we selected this house after learning it had nearby access to a private beach. We were told it was "a short 10 minute walk," but upon arriving realized it was actually a mile and down a nearly 500 foot hill. This is an unreasonable distance and elevation gain to expect families to trek. Instead, we chose to drive down to the lakeshore but were confused when there wasn't any nearby parking so ended up leaving.
I'd also like to provide ideas and feedback about how you may wish to improve the rental for future visitors. The listing says it sleeps 8, but there were only 4 deck chairs outside which was strange - one of us had to sit on the ground. If the house can support 8 people, a larger coffee pot would also be a nice perk.. the tiny pot could barely serve two adults. The south-facing deck gets incredibly hot but there's no shade - an umbrella would go a long way.
Overall, we were very disappointed with these unexpected surprises because we weren't able to use the amenities we expected and had planned for.
Thank you,
Joanna J.

Great stay
We really enjoyed staying at this house. It was great for our family of three. The kitchen was well stocked and it was clean with lots of fluffy towels. The hot tub was a nice addition.
This house was super convenient for our vacation in Sandpoint. There are lots of cool hiking trails nearby.

Nice!
Great location for where we needed to be. Beautiful house! The kids Loved seeing all the deer and wild turkeys.
we enjoyed our stay thoroughly the house was OK. Nice open space etc. However it was not finished it felt like it was still somewhat of a construction zone and needed to be finished. Overall a nice day.
