Deep Water Cottage - New House 2008

Bedrooms 2
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms + Den, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Watch the dolphins play from the Master Bed. This architecturally designed deep water, 10 feet at low tide, cottage is a must see and rent. The views are absolutely stunning. The Whale Branch River can be seen from every room.

Fish, crab, boat, and swim from the dock. You can watch the sunrise and the sunset from this idealistic home. This cottage is perfect for honeymooners and families looking to relax and enjoy a deepwater home in the SC lowcountry.

There is a boat landing close by. Catch your limit of shrimp right off the end of the dock.

We have two screened in porches. One downstairs and one uptairs that wraps around the den. The den has completely unobstructive views of the water as the exterior 'walls' are sliding glass doors that fold on themselves completely opening up the house. The den has a 42' TV and the bunk room has a 19' TV. There is also a 25' TV and VCR player in the master bedroom. We have just added ROKU in the den. Watch unlimited movies on Netflix. You can also watch YouTube.

This house is available for nightly or long term rentals.

It is with great pleasure to share that Travel and Leisure magazine has voted Charleston, South Carolina the number ONE city in the WORLD to visit and Savannah, Georgia was voted number nine! Our home is located just 15 minutes from I-95 and so it is about a 45-55 minute drive to either one of these award winning cities! You can visit both of those beautiful and charming cities with ease, and don't forget Fripp Island or Hilton Head Island are a quick 30-45 minute drive also!

We loved the property, and loved the dock and the views we had a great stay

  • 4 of 5

We arrived at 3pm and the cleaning lady had just started and asked if we could return in about an hour, we did and she was gone, but it was really not enough time for her to clean properly. There was no fold out in the den, like it states on the the homeaway details website. So we bought an inflatable mattrass and made due. I was quite surprised by the stairs to the entrance, the website does not show or mention them. There were alot if cobwebs, and needs some minor repairs and some fresh paint, but we still enjoyed our stay this week at The property

Beautiful views, great house!!

  • 4 of 5

We loved it, great house, perfect for me, my husband and our two kids! We enjoyed catching sharks, crabs and stingray from the dock! Seeing the dolphins everyday was lovely!! The only problem we had was the TV stopped working, but we were able to watch netflix. But we would definitely stay here again!!

Owner's Response: Thanks for staying with us. In the future, please let me know if there is a problem with the cable. Sometimes you have to reset the cable box by unplugging it. Frank

Great view, great house

  • 5 of 5

The house is located in a secluded place but not far from main touristic attractions: Beaufort, Savannah, Charleston and coastal beaches. The view is just amazing. Sunsets and sunrises unforgettable.

Frank replied quickly to all our questions. We'll certainly stay again in his house if we ever have the chance to come back in the area.

We loved our stay. Waking up to beautiful sunrises and watching the egrets fishing out of the window

Very picturesque out all the windows. Comfortable furniture. The soaker tub was a treat. Quiet serene neighborhood.

Great views and privacy

  • 5 of 5

The outdoor aspects of this house far exceeded our expectations. There is a wraparound screened in porch with chairs and tables and a long walkway to a peer with a covered gazebo. The kitchen and living areas are perfect for two people. However, the house could easily accommodate more. Bathrooms are excellent. The house and surrounding area is very clean. Be sure to drive into Beaufort and check out the stores around the waterfront and the impressive communal areas by the river. Have a swing! Also, go across the bridge to the state park. Be aware that many repairs due to Hurricane Matthew have not been undertaken in this area. That effects the state park, including the beach area. Don't miss the Lowcountry Pantry restaurant that is to the right when you come back to Stuart Road. It's a real gem only about 1.5 miles from the house. We also ate at the one in town and enjoyed it.

Idyllic holiday place

  • 4 of 5

This house is such a lovely home. It is situated on the Harbor River which flows into the ocean. Dolphins swim past the house, birds congregate in the marshes that accompany the boardwalk out to the dock, and there is nothing like a sunrise or sunset to truly appreciate the tranquility of the moment. The house is really suitable for two although you can sleep 7 or 8. Personally, it is perfect for two. Everything is taken care of for you - fresh sheets and towels, toilet paper, paper towels and napkins.... On the other hand, you still have to brush your own teeth and take your own shower so bring the toothpaste and bath soap.

The South Carolina coast is definately a coastline so nothing is a straight shot down the highway. It's about 40 miles to Edisto Island, 13 miles to Beaufort; the grocery store is about 7 miles away.... what else could it be when you are navigating many islands. Most important - never pass a gas station without filling up. This isn't like your local metropolis with a gas station on every corner - nope - they are secreted every 10 miles maybe and it is very easy to find yourself on fumes before finding fuel.

There are quite a few options available for food as you approach Beaufort or Walmart. But maybe you'd prefer catching your own. From your very own dock you can catch fresh blue crabs in the trap that is provided; cast net for shrimp or toss in a line for a few fish. What more could you ask for? Food, tranquility, bird song and natural beauty all available at this lovely home.
