About The Owner

These are my beautiful kids. We purchased our property in July of 2003. When my husband walked around the deck and saw the view, he said, 'Where do we sign'? We live in Chesterfield Va and can get to the lake in less than 1 1/2 hours. My 2 kids are 21 and 16. My son goes to Old Dominion University and my daughter is a Junior. We love coming to the lake and making memories.

The Owner purchased this house in 2003

Why The Owner chose Littleton

We have been going to Lake Gaston since the 1980s. My parents had a camper at The Club and then River Ridge. We have always enjoyed boating and water sports. Purchasing a vacation home at Lake Gaston was a no-brainer.

What makes this house unique

The view from the deck is second-to-none. We have a beautiful main lake view but are located right inside the cove, so it does not get rough. The dock is huge and great. We love going to the lake in the summer, fall, winter, and spring! Nothing like spending a fall or winter weekend with a pot of soup on the stove.

Best Location and Dock on Lake Gaston!

  • 5 of 5

We’ve been to lake Gaston many times and this is by far the best location we’ve ever been to on Lake Gaston and the best dock!

The house is great with lots of space and the most comfortable living room furniture ever and a huge TV screen. The kitchen is white and spacious and both the living area and kitchen have full lake views. The u-shaped deck has ample seating with a covered corner for those rainy days.

The dock is a gem! just a few steps away from the house, huge with an awesome upper level with amazing views of the cove and the open waters towards the main lake. Pots of red flowers decorate the upper and lower levels. Plenty of high quality furniture, chairs, tables, chaise longues and cute signs on the lower level always put a smile on our faces.

The fishing from the dock was great, we caught so many catfish we lost count, the largest was 8 lbs. We even caught a 2.5 lbs largemouth bass on a bottom rig with cut bait! it was an amazing surprise. We shared that story with a bass fisherman who came to our cove on his bass boat and he was amazed too! We caught some sunfish and white perch too. On the sunny days the turtles would stick their heads out of the water and swim around the dock, we took many pictures of the blue heron who kept us company everyday.

We had a great time, everything was perfect with the house, dock and view. The location couldn’t have been better, the dock is at the mouth of a cove, offering the quietness and minimal boat traffic, yet showing the views of the main lake from a distance. Diane was great to deal with, we’ll definitely come back. Thank you so much Diane and Dave for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Perfect location and great place to make memories!

  • 5 of 5

This was a wonderful place to stay and enjoy Lake Gaston! The owners were very helpful with information about the home and the area which helped us plan our trip more easily. They were also responsive to all emails and inquiries in a timely manner.

We brought our boat and had room to tie up to the dock and plenty of room to park the boat trailer. We loved the location on the lake as it was just off the main lake in a cove but still had views of the main lake and the short distance to go out the main lake with our boat. We went to two places on the water with our boat to eat which was about a 10 minute boat ride away. The land location was within 5 minutes to the food lion, hardware store and places to eat. The area was very peaceful and private. We even enjoyed the fire pit while enjoying our lake view. The beds were very comfortable. We are looking forward to being able to stay here again!

FYI-

The owner has fishing licenses for their guest to fish off their dock.

Boat ride to eat at The Pointe Café and Waters View Restaurant (both by the Eaton Ferry Bridge)

Bring your own linens but blankets are there if needed.

They had trash bags (loved huge trash container that held all our trash while we were there, took one trip to remove trash)

Really like the door locking system and not having to keep up with a physical key

Huge movie collection, however the weather was so nice we stay outside/on lake most of the time.

Nice boat ramp to used and given code upon check in instructions

Owners were super nice!

Great place and great experience!

  • 5 of 5

We so enjoyed the stay! The whole experience working with the owners was great! They were very accommodating and helped with everything we needed. We were able to make last minute travel arrangements that worked so well. The home and location is absolutely beautiful! The house had everything we needed to cook our meals! Last but not least my family loved the putting together the puzzles! Thanks so much for sharing your home with us!

A Blessing !!

  • 5 of 5

This is a place to enjoy the beauty of nature while comfortably enjoying a family gathering. We (4 sisters, 67-74 years old) parked our cars on Wednesday and did not return to them until we left on Saturday; everything we needed was right there!!

I rely a lot on reviews when I am searching for the perfect property. Hope this list of details aids your selection. This property surpasses basic expectations of a rental; hence, this list of positives: main floor living area has very comfortable, roomy seating ----very large selection of DVDs----deck tables and chairs were excellent for visiting and for outdoor meals----quality and quantity cookware----the dock was an activity within itself----quiet cove; boats and skiers were in the distance----walkable neighborhood----community pool, bathrooms, docks and picnic areas looked nice; a place to watch lake activities----the house had so many extras; screwdrivers, lighter/matches, extension cords, throws, etc for added comfort----

The property description had let us know there is not a bathroom on the lower level; we made our room assignments accordingly.

One need = a handrail on the staircase

WE PLAN TO RETURN !!

Lovely, Lots of Fun , Loved

  • 5 of 5

A couple of friends and I rented this home for a girls weekend away. The "cottage" is charming. Imagine Cape Cod meets rustic. We loved it! The views of the lake were gorgeous along with the sunrises each morning. The beds were comfy and since we were there to watch movies, grab a little sun and eat I would be remiss not to comment on the comfy living area which was perfect for indulging in those movies. If you have 3 or an entire family there is no problem accommodating everyone for sleeping or viewing as there are ample bedding, TV's and seating. There is an enormous 2 level dock in very good condition with plenty of chairs for just being. We enjoyed coffee on the deck and played games there as well. Now the kitchen- I love to cook and you can tell that the owner does as well. If that's your thing this going to be a treat. Caphalon pots/pans; heavy duty mixing bowls, lots of glasses..yep-it was fun. Probably one of things we enjoyed the most was that we felt like a welcome guest. We enjoyed the family photos and built our own stories around them. recipes (handwritten) in the kitchen, artwork on the walls and the whimsical kitchen/living area all testimony that this placed is beloved. Thanks so much for sharing, The Purple Pansies!

Lizard Creek Cottage with Gorgeous View of Lake

  • 5 of 5

This is my second time renting this house. It's comfortable, accessible, and accommodating. It's well-stocked and clean. I don't know what I enjoy more - fishing off the dock, reading on the veranda, or just watching the lake at sunrise or sunset. I intend to rent this house again in the fall.
