  • Wonderful home and owners

"Nine of us ages 74-10 just spent a delightful week in this lovely home. The owners have spared no expense in keeping the home updated, clean and well stocked. They provide a pedal boat, chairs for the dock, and lots of information on the location - where to go and what to do. We loved diving and fishing off the dock - not at the same time. We caught catfish, small fry, and ta da....4 large mouth bass. We threw all but one back and had the nicest guy in world clean and debone one of the bass for us. We highly recommend renting a pontoon boat from Timber Lodge. Mike and Tyler are so nice and Mike is the guy who knows how to clean fish. We got two nice size filets from 3.5 lb bass and they were delicious. The home's location is pretty central to what you need. Taking garbage and recycling to a dump is inconvenient but I guess pretty standard for that setting. The DSL worked fine but we were in one of the few spots left in the country where you cannot call or text from your cell phone. I loved it but some of my group went through withdrawal. There is a sunroom that is perfect for family dining and playing Texas Hold'em, A cocktail table on which we did 2 puzzles, and a kitchen table that we used for cards and games. We didn't try any of the nearby restaurants because the online reviews weren't flattering. We loved Hwy 55 burgers though. The grill works as do all the kitchen appliances. We recommend Paradise on Lake Gaston to all who want a wonderful get-away place."

  • 5 STARS for this Amazing House!!

"We are a large group of several families that vacation together every year. We have stayed in large houses in the Outer Banks and once before at Lake Gaston. Out of all our rentals, this house on Osprey Point is our favorite. The owners were wonderful to work with. Their attention to detail, knowledge of the area and easily accessible by phone or text was very helpful. The home is well maintained, clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen was stocked with everything you can think of and talk about beautiful, high end appliances and granite everywhere. Each bathroom had loads of soaps and shampoos. The towels were soft and luxurious and plenty of them. The beds were very comfortable. Large couches and side chairs made the living room comfortable for the adults. The kids had their own rec area downstairs with a pool table, Xbox, DirectTV, and dozens of family fun games in a massive wall cabinet. When you walk out onto the huge deck you have a fantastic view of the lake. Early mornings with a cup of coffee sitting at one of the tables watching the sun shimmer of the water is breathtaking. Walk down to the boathouse and up the circular staircase to the upper deck you get a full view of Poe Creek. As our kids have grown into teenagers they love all the activity the lake has to offer. The location on the lake and the amenities of this home kept them busy from the moment we arrived. We brought a boat and several Seadoos and there was plenty of dock to tie them up and pull the boat into boathouse on the lift. There were several kayaks, a paddle board, and a huge trampoline. The kids loved to jump off the upper deck of the boathouse into the deep water to see who could make the biggest splash or touch the bottom. The skiing, wake boarding, wake surfing and tubing on the boat and Seadoos was fantastic in the protected creek that kept the waves under control when the main lake was rough. There were several evenings when everyone loaded up on all the power toys and road out to goat island to play in the water and watch the gorgeous sunsets over the main lake. Our vacation was a 10 out of 10. Great friends, great house, sunny 85 degree low humidity days and water temps in the low 80s made for an amazing vacation and memories that will last a lifetime. If you rent this home you will not be disappointed."

  • Exceptional house and owner.

"Outstanding home with a great view. This is our second year staying at one of Joe's properties and we would be back multiple times if our scheduled allowed. The House is clean, spacious and Joe has added everything you need to make it an outstanding vacation. Our family meets there for our "Family reunion" and it allows enough space for 3 families to fit comfortable. Joe makes sure you have every thing you need and if any issues arise, he does everything he can to get it fixed unlike other owners who just take your rental money and you never get a reply back. Highly recommend!"

  • Beautiful home and beautiful lake views

"The pictures of this home do not do it justice. It is a beautiful home situated right on Poe Creek on Lake Gaston. We vacationed here with my parents, siblings, and kids. The house fit our whole family perfectly - enough space to escape when needed but also large common areas so we could all be together also. We used the screened in deck extensively - one of our favorite places to sit and relax. The dock is large enough for a whole crowd to hang out and have some lake fun. We fished, swam, boated. Everything a lake vacation should be. We did rent the pontoon also. It was very well maintained and ran perfectly. We also had a 2nd boat that our family brought and we were able to keep that at the dock also. The owners are amazing. Very kind and friendly. They answered all my questions and did not make me feel like I was bothering them."
