Welcome to our ski home perched on the side of Mammoth Mountain at over 8,000 feet with panoramic views of the town and the entire Owens Valley. Experience the magic of Mammoth Mountain, California's premier ski resort featuring world class down hill skiing with a 3,000 foot vertical drop. High speed Quads minimize lift line ups, and with over 50 ski runs there is variety for novice, beginner, intermediate, and expert alike. Gather the family and friends and join us for a fun filled ski vacation that will linger in your memories.

Leave your car safely in the garage, away from parking and traffic congestion in the village. From our front door, a few steps will bring you to the ski trail. Hop on your skis and traverse a well groomed trail to the bunny slope of Canyon Lodge. Ski down and hop on the chair and you are on your way to the first run of the day. At lunch time, head back to the condo via Chickadee and a private trail. Take off your boots, enjoy lunch, relax, and perhaps a short nap. Or enjoy a lunch break at one of the restaurants on Mammoth Mountain.

At days end, ski back to the condo, and head down to the Jacuzzi and sauna to relax those tired muscles and recap those exciting runs that you mastered so well. If there was an occasional fall or mishap, we can understand this "omission" from the conversation. Later at the condo, continue "apres ski" with a glass of wine or cocktail. And as the plaque above the dining table states "THE WEIN KELLAR IS OPEN - EVERYDAY"'. Meals prepared in Irene's newly expanded kitchen are guaranteed to satisfy the most demanding and heartiest appetites and extend the family budget as well. After dinner, enjoy coffee, more conversation, TV, or a movie in front of the crackling wood stove. A full and satisfying day!

After a day of skiing and "apres ski", sleep with come early to many. Our guests enjoy three comfortable queen beds, each on a separate level. Expanded loft/bedroom one is on level two, with a wall mounted TV is open, bright and cheery. Next on level three, is a large bed/sitting room with a queen bed, wall TV, and views of the Sherwin Bowl and National Forest. From level three, the perimeter stairway takes you to level four, to the "sky watcher" loft/bedroom with a queen size bed, and is open, bright and private. Young and old alike, enjoy the sweeping panoramic views of the Valley. The master bathroom, (level three) has a deep soaking tub and separate shower. The downstairs facility, a powder room, and separate shower.

For those seeking a day off from down hill skiing, there is superb cross country skiing, snow mobiling, snow shoeing in the back country, to name a few. Or when the weatherman says "stay inside" enjoy the ambiance of the living room, TV, a quiet read, in front of a crackling fire.

For the cooks night off there are a plethora of restaurants, ranging from (Angels) and more upscale such as Nevados, Tamarack Lodge plus restaurants in the village and at Mammoth Mountain Inn. The Stove restaurant, is known for hearty skiers breakfasts and dinners. And a visit to Schat's Bakery to enjoy custom sandwiches, pastries, confections or 'sweets', is a must.

We enjoy all the conveniences, comforts and amenities of home, at our home in the mountains and do not expect our guests to accept less.

About Jack and Irene

Originally from British Columbia, Jack and Irene have been avid skiers and outdoor enthusiasts from day one. Irene's career in banking and Jack's in education, brought them to Southern California. Their skiing interests have taken them to the major resorts of Canada; Whistler, the North Shore Mountains of Vancouver, Sun Peak, Banff and Lake Louise in the Canadian Rockies, and in the east to Mont Tremblant, Quebec, and Stowe, VT. and in the U.S. to Sun Valley, Alta, Aspen, Snowbird, Park City, Lake Tahoe, and the resorts of Colorado. Their interest in Europe has taken them to the Alps, and to the resorts of France, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, and the Pyrenees of Southern France and Spain. The highlight of their skiing endeavors has been helicopter skiing in the Cariboo and Monashees of British Columbia. They are original Timber Ridge owners.

More recently, they have acquired an ocean front home in Birch Bay, Washington state and only 5 minutes from British Columbia and 45 minutes to Vancouver, B. C. They invite you to share it with them. VRBO #192841

Great unit with awesome views

We had a great weekend and really enjoyed this well stoked home. The house was well stoked with all of the amenities needed to cook meals and plenty of fire wood to keep the house cozy.

Great Time

This place really has everything you need. The owners are extremely responsive and ensure that you are well taken care of. The ability to walk to the ski trails is a huge bonus. The place itself has 3 floors and is in good shape. The garage is small and can be tricky if you have a large vehicle but there is plenty of parking down the way.

Hoping to stay here again soon!

Some pros, some cons

This is a nice condo with some downsides.

Pros:

- everything is in good shape inside, nothing in disrepair

- not dated like so many Mammoth condos

- beautiful treetop views

- quiet

- decent mattresses

- well-equipped kitchen, lots of wine glasses :-)

- comfortably sleeps six in three beds

- love the wood burning stove, lots of wood included

Cons:

- steep curvy road privately plowed, so it became unusable during storms until later in the day while public roads were clear

- robust hike to skiing, NOT ski-in ski-out by any means (this would be better with more snow, but only if your party can ski down black diamond runs)

- nylon sheets

- garage is tiny, don't try to fit a mini van or big SUV in here

- trash dumpster is a long way away, so taking out the trash is a journey

- rec room/jacuzzi is an outdoor walk on a steep (potentially icy) road

Owner's Response: Dear Guest, We not only encourage, but welcome any and all feedback from our guests. Thank you. We strive to give our guests a 5 star experience, and given that we received eight "Pros" on your review, we feel we've covered most the items that would put our condo in that category. We not only provide lots of wood, we also include lots of towels, both kitchen and bath, lots of paper towels and toilet paper, not to mention all the spices, Vinegar and oils. Some areas of our complex, are not in our control, and given the curvy road up to our complex, which is maintained by the city, of which we found the maintenance to be acceptable. Our complex, however, is maintained by our own loader, by our manager, who has the discretion, to begin plowing the road early in the morning, and has. And in our experience, has maintained the road very well, weather permitting. There are two areas of skiing out and skiing in and we encourage our guests to contact us so we can verbally walk them through any questions or concerns they may have. We also provide information regarding the dumpster for the trash as well as the building for the jacuzzi and saunas. Our garage, a one car (compact) is small, and we've been able to get our Toyota Landruiser, BMW and SUV's in there, but do feel one might avoid a CHEVY SUBURBAN, although we've backed one in, but could not close the garage door. We do explain where to park if the vehicle will not fit in our garage. We are not aware of any nylon sheets in our condo. Do they still make them, or have they ever made them? Ours, according to the label, are microfiber and or bamboo. The six Cons are appreciated, and we hope we've addressed your concerns. Thank you for staying with us, and we hope you'll come back. If it's in winter months for skiing, we'll pray for more snow, and if it's in the summer time, and, we've found the summers in Mammoth to be a wonderful experience, with all the activities in and around Mammoth, to include many delightful concerts, in the village, music can be heard when one is in our condo. Great time in Mammoth Mountain

We had a great time at Jack and Irene's condo. The condo is very clean, spacious, but also cozy and exactly as described. We stayed there with 3 teenage kids and they had fun sleeping in the loft bedrooms. We never stayed at a place before that provided almost everything you need for every day - toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning products, spices, coffee filter, wood for the fireplace..... we just had to add groceries. Yes, the garage is too small for an SUV but the parking lot for Timber Ridge is just around the corner and it only takes about 3 minutes to walk up to the condo. The view from the dining/living area is beautiful! The condo is a true ski in, to ski out it only takes a 300 feet walk to a black or blue slope down to Canyon Lodge. The condo is away from the hustle and bustle of Mammoth Village but close to everything you want for a ski vacation. We would definitely book this condo again whenever we are in Mammoth!

Irene likes to have things at her finger tips, especially in the kitchen, and if something is missing, she makes sure to provide it either before or when we go there the next time. Mammoth Lakes is really a year round resort, and summers are pretty spectacular, with all the many activities in the village as well as in the surrounding area. Awesome Location

Very comfortable, amazing views and location. Stocked with everything we could have wanted...except board games? I guess it's a BYOBG kind of place. Only one real bedroom, with two lofts, can be a bit of a challenge.

Gorgeous views!

We really enjoyed our stay at Jack and Irene's place at Timber Ridge. You truly felt like you were in a tree house, with gorgeous views of the mountain! The spacious open living room and kitchen has floor to ceiling windows so it was very bright (and once again those views!) The kitchen was a joy to cook in. The pool and hot tub were large, clean and well used by my boys. Unfortunately, our car did not fit in the garage, so parking was a tad difficult. Other than that, it was a perfect spot for our weekend getaway!
