CASA EL CAPITAN is an amazing OPEN three bedroom, two bath, and two level custom house in the charming historic goldrush town of Mariposa - the Gateway to Yosemite National Park. PERFECT for families and couples, romantic getaways, girls getaways, friends' getaways, or solo.

The inviting living room has high celings and AMAZING windows that allow natural sunlight and gorgeous views of nature. CASA EL CAPITAN is surrounded by trees, beautiful landscaping, and by 1000 square feet of multi-level decking to further enjoy the outdoors and the views. You can dine indoors or outdoors. For those who love to cook, there is a fully stocked kitchen. There is a bedroom/bath on the first level and two bedrooms/bath on the bottom level. The bottom master level includes a sun room to relax, read, or do yoga, a beautiful 50+ year old Madagascar Dragon tree and a bonus third bedroom. Located in a quiet and peaceful part of Mariposa town on over .5 acres, EL CAPITAN is also walking distance to town for food, amazing restaurants, shopping, bars, hiking, and mountain biking. Enjoy our unique home on your next vacation to Mariposa and Yosemite National Park!

From Mariposa, Yosemite National Park is 35 miles away, a 45 minute scenic drive (via Hwy140) with lots of photo opportunities to the entrance of the park. CASA EL CAPITAN is also a 45 minute drive to Bass Lake!

El Capitan Mariposa

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at El Capitan and wish we could have stayed longer than the few days we were there. It is a very well equipped house with comfortable beds and a perfect location within walking distance to town and an excellent restaurant Savoureys. Enjoyed the decks and the views from them. Lordelyn was most helpful at all times and particularly at check in.

Perfection!

What an amazing home! Amazing views, clean and quiet. The drive to Yosemite National park was reasonable and the host made sure we were well taken care of during our stay. Thank you Lordelyn for all of your extra special touches and great communication prior to arrival. If I could give this home more than 5 stars, I would... Highly recommended!

Magical home in the heart of Mariposa

It’s hard coming back to my hometown and not being able to stay at my childhood home since my family moved, but this place was as close as it gets. Had a perfect couple of days here with my besties from birth: from strolling around downtown Mariposa (everything is walkable from the house!) to enjoying the views of my beloved Sierra Nevada foothills from the deck. The bedrooms were spacious and clean and the unique architecture made it feel like you were truly somewhere special (and we were). The host, Lordelyn, was super accommodating and we greatly appreciated the Mariposa coffee every am - so many thoughtful touches. Thanks for making this local gal feel right at home again. I’ll certainly be back!
