About this property
Secluded Tree House Chalet
Slip away to a secluded, treehouse-style chalet tucked into the lush canopy of Squak Mountain. Follow the sound of a cascading waterfall to your private retreat, then unwind on two spacious cedar decks surrounded by birdsong and forest views. Inside, the airy great room feels suspended among the treetops. Yet historic downtown Issaquah is within walking distance, with scenic hiking trails just minutes away.
Tucked among the treetops on Squak Mountain, Chez Squeak is a peaceful chalet overlooking a wooded ravine and seasonal creek. Enter beside a cascading waterfall, unwind on two spacious cedar decks—including one with an oversized hammock—and gather around the outdoor fire pit beneath the trees.
Inside, soaring windows frame the surrounding forest and flood the open great room with natural light, creating the feeling of living among the treetops. A custom gas fireplace, handcrafted from weathering steel, creates a striking architectural focal point and a cozy place to unwind after a day of exploring. Deer, rabbits, and raccoons often wander through the woods, and you may even catch a glimpse of the occasional bear.

This is a stunning property perfect for our trip to see World Cup match in Seattle. We loved the quiet nature atmosphere and the beautiful decor and design. Highly recommend for couples!
the place was great! beautiful property in a very quiet area. you could relax on any of the decks and listen to the birds. clean, with plenty of amenities for a large family. you can walk into issaquah which is really nice as well. 1 minor issue: - the floors will creak quite a lot. not a problem if you spend time upstairs, but a bit of a problem if you have some early birds upstairs while folks are still sleeping in the bedrooms. but if everyone has the same schedule then it's all good. Honestly i would still book the place because it was ideal for what we needed
Wonderful stay and great location. Quiet location which gave us a great night sleep. Home was perfect for a weekend get away. Host provided wonderful communication and easy check in which was appreciated as we arrived very late.
We’ve stayed here several times and it is our go to place for our annual visits to Seattle. The place is perfect for us and it would be fine for two couples as well. The setting is just wonderful and the house is very comfortable and great for relaxing. The City of Issaquah is convenient for visiting downtown Seattle, the wineries in Woodinville and the shopping in Bellevue.
Everything far exceed our expectations. Well maintained property, and secluded whole also still being very close to shops etc. I will definitely stay here in the future again.

Thank you Dennis. Our cleaner thanks you too! Welcome back any time. Heather and Daniel
The treehouse was unique and made us feel as if we were immersed in a rainforest. Several decks and large windows allowed expansive nature views. Our hosts were very responsive during our stay, addressing our questions and one minor hot water issue within minutes. The well-appointed home is conveniently located for exploring Seattle and other area attractions. We made good use of the fireplace to relax at the end of the day, and having the extra half-bath was a plus.
The property was very stylish and tasteful. It was a great base to spend Christmas near our son and daughter-in-law. Daniel and Heather were very easy to communicate with and very obliging.
Great place to decompress after a day in the mountains
We were in town for a trail race and the property was very close to the start line. The place exceeded my expectations. Very comfortable beds. The large window in the shower looking out into the woods was a treat after a day running through the trails in the area. We will be staying here again if I can convince myself to run the race again.
We were pleasantly surprised at how much nature this property captures so close to the heart of Issaquah. Situated in a very green valley with lovely views from all rooms, this property was a fantastic getaway for a dear friend and myself!
This was our second stay at this property and we’re looking forward to our third. It works great for us in terms of location, amenities, quiet and privacy. Also we love the setting among the trees.
Two friends enjoyed the peace of the woods, the rustle of the leaves, the cool breeze on a few very warm days. The top deck is beautiful, with a hammock to read and sway with the soft breeze. The decks off the bedrooms were prefect for morning yoga, or a quiet moment to read before my friend woke up. Beds are comfortable and the water feature in the front is beautiful and makes the traffic noise obsolete! Very peaceful space with hiking trails close by and the adorable town of Issaquah to enjoy!
Location is quiet and scenic. The owners communicated clearly and checked in to make sure everything went smoothly. Kitchen is well equipped for cooking and includes the basics, in addition to coffee, spices, etc which is helpful. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if we were in the area!
This place was such a great find. It is the perfect setting and so relaxing and comfortable! It’s even better than the pictures and that’s saying a lot. The hosts were great and very responsive. We highly recommend this rental if in the Issaqua area. We have family here so will definitely come back.

Why they chose this property We chose Squak Mountain for its beautiful surroundings and its ideal location near downtown Issaquah and close proximity to Seattle. The home sits on one and a half acres beneath towering 100-foot fir trees, where deer and other wildlife are frequent visitors. A koi pond, cascading waterfall, and gas fire pit create a truly one-of-a-kind setting in the heart of Issaquah.
The property is also close to all the site seeing in the Seattle area and several scenic trailheads, including the trail to Debbie’s View, where hikers are rewarded with a glorious view of Mount Rainier on a clear day. What makes this property unique Nature is woven into everyday life here at Chez Squak. We designed our homes to embrace the forest, with expansive windows that frame the trees, cedar decks that extend the living spaces outdoors, and peaceful areas to gather beside the koi pond, waterfall, and fire pit. Whether we’re watching deer pass through the property, listening to birds in the canopy, or enjoying the changing seasons, we never take the beauty of Squak Mountain for granted.
Why they chose this property
A very peaceful community nestled in the woods of squak mountain.
