The Oak House in Historic Jean Lafitte

Come to relax in a serene setting, surrounded by hundred- year-old live oaks. Jean Lafitte properties follow along the Bayou Barataria which is rich with the best, freshest seafood. There are nearby bayous and lakes for fishing and water sports. Local adventures include swamp tours, chartered fishing excursions, nature trails, and nearby boat launch access. The house, located just 25 miles from the New Orleans French Quarter and Bourbon Street is a perfect getaway for festivals and Mardi Gras.

The house is newly built in 2020 with modern appliances and furnishings. The space will accommodate up to 6 guests; the master has a queen bed, and the second bedroom has one bunk bed and a full-size bed. The house is raised, and below there is an outdoor kitchen with a fryer, outdoor grill, boiling pot for seafood boils, and a wash area. There are also sitting areas under the house overlooking the oaks for outdoor relaxing. The driveway has enough room to park a boat and trailer, and a public launch is only 2 miles away. The kitchen is fully stocked with all essential cooking ware for you to enjoy home cooked meals during your stay. Don't want to cook, no problem, the property is minutes away from several outstanding local restaurants. All other living essentials are already awaiting you to make this not only an enjoyable, but hassle-free stay and get the most out of your time with family and friends.

It was perfect! Located in quaint Jean Lafitte, you are 30 minutes from the riverfront of New Orleans. We loved it because it was out of the hustle and bustle of the city. And centrally located to all the different things we were going to do such as airboat tours, swamp tours, plantations, and Grand Isle State Park. If you have small children, the backyard is huge and a great place to play. It is also located near the intercoastal waterway, which is great to watch barges and other ships go down. The owner was super nice and made the entire process easy!

Wonderful stay and great hosts. We were in town for a family wedding and had our son and his family with us. It was family friendly and very clean, safe, and good location. Definitely recommend for families that don't want to stay in New Orleans but want to be close.

Home in the Bayou

We loved our stay at this adorable bayou house! It was cute, clean, and exactly as pictured—no surprises, just charm and comfort. Near all the airboat rides!

Our stay at the house on stilts was pretty awesome! Very clean and new, very pretty location. Saw lots of gators got to do lots of fishing all nearby and airboat rides!!

Cute Louisiana Stop

My family and I spent two nights in this amazing home on our trip home. The house is perfect, everything was so nice and the beds were so comfortable! We planned to spend a day in NOLA however we ended up coming back early to relax. We will definitely be back here to stay longer!

50th Wedding Anniversary

The place felt like home away from home. It was less than two miles from where our 50th Wedding Anniversary Celebration was held and worked out perfect for us. Totally enjoyed the Celebration and our stay.
