Great house and grounds in a lovely area
Overall we really enjoyed our stay. It’s a great sized house with a good layout and big grounds. The pool is a little on the small side for the size of the house but perfectly fine for us with an 18 month old. It has an outdoor bar/kitchen as well which is good for bbqs etc. It’s a shame that the garden doesn’t have a bit more going on in terms of plants etc and real grass given that this area of France is so colourful at this time of year. A lot of the garden is dead space, particularly round the back. It would be great to add a boules court as there is plenty of space. Location wise, it’s an easy walk to essential shops, La Hume train station and to one of the ports/oyster shacks (Chez Bidart in particular is great). To go anywhere else you really do need a car. The house could do with being a bit better equipped. While there are lots of plates, cutlery, glasses, pans etc we had to buy our own stirrer, knife and chopping board and additional tea towels. The bathroom towels are also very cheap quality and would benefit from an upgrade and unfortunately both showers leaked so soaked the bathroom floors/bath mats after every shower. All of the soap dispensers were empty/near empty on arrival. We also had to rewash all pillow cases as they all smelled of damp.Aside from those small issues, we had a really nice stay at this property.
