Awesome place!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at this cabin while we were celebrating our daughter's graduation from Lee University. It is nice and roomy. Our kids loved the game room and hot tub. The porch was amazing for a little quiet time. We didn't have enough time to hike, but would love to come back when we have more time to relax.

Wonderful Place for Family Reunion

  • 5 of 5

Very close to Chattanooga, and all that Chattanooga has to offer, Yet it seems like you are out in the middle of nowhere, with nature surrounding you. Elsie A. Holmes Nature Park Is basically next-door with many hiking trails that lead along the fairly large stream. We saw fish, turtles, toads, hawks, etc.

The cabin itself is very nice. There are 2 bedrooms with king-size beds, one of which is upstairs with a Jacuzzi in the bathroom, and very nice facilities. There is a hot tub outside on the back porch overlooking a small valley and hillside of forest. We spent 3 days together and were very pleased.

Communication with the owner was great. We had no problems in any way.

The place is stocked with books and games. The kitchen was well-stocked as well. The beds were comfortable.

There is a very nice teahouse in downtown Ringgold, less than 10 minutes away. It is called Cottage Treasures.

I asked everyone in our group about what they thought of this cabin for future use, and everyone was in favor of returning.

Had fun but wont go back

  • 3 of 5

The cabin was ok overall and the folks renting it were nice enough. We had fun staying there because of the company we were with and the games they had (foosball and air hockey). The cabin was quiet and the surrounding views were beautiful. Here were some of the issues; Several of the plates and silverware were dirty enough that we had to hand wash all of them before we felt comfortable eating with them. The coffee pot was dirty too and had to be washed. In general, the cabin just did not feel clean (the bathroom rugs and downstairs carpet had stains on them). Also, the frig water filter and ice maker did not work and the main level shower faucet was a bit hard to figure out and turn off. It just felt like the cabin needed some attention, a bit of minor fixing and better cleaning, and it would have had the potential to be pretty good. Still, we all agreed that we would not be renting it again.

Owner's Response: Hi Mr Al-Qatami, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. I spoke to our cleaning crew and we are addressing the issues you spoke of. The carpet stains are being addressed and I am in contact with our Plummer to have the shower faucet and refrigerator fixed as well as other improvements made. Thanks, Terri

Wonderful and Peaceful Stay!

  • 5 of 5

We booked this cabin for 5 nights for our family to spend over Spring Break. Overall, it was a 10/10 experience - you should feel comfortable booking!

A few things worth noting:

- The house is incredibly nice, updated, and could almost be considered upscale. The beds were amazingly comfortable. The deck is the gem and where you'll want to spend your time. We had kids and we all slept in the basement (the spiral stairs were a non-issue for us.) There's also a bedroom on the first & master upstairs. All of them very nicely done.

- The views are great out of the back porch. I would describe them as having a very nice and peaceful rolling, mountain/hill as the backdrop. I wouldn't describe the views as awe-inspiring, amazing mountain vistas. (Don't get me wrong, they were very nice!) We heard Barred Owls hooting at night and birds in the morning. A very peaceful setting.

- We found it very private - once you were in the house or on the porch or in the hot tub, there were not signs of neighbors other than a few lights across the river and the sounds of dogs occasionally saying hello down the valley.

- The river was a short walk down a groomed, private trail and could be partially viewed from the back deck. I brought my fly-rod but the river was not easily fished from the banks (small openings with overhanging trees. I imagine if we weren't there after big rains, it might be waded or fished from the banks. I didn't bother.

- The owner and management company were INCREDIBLY responsive, kind, proactive, and helpful.

- The location was quiet/off the beaten path but easy to get to.

Would we recommend it to a friend - 100% definitely!

Would we stay there again - without question. My only hesitation is driving 3 kids 30-45 minutes into Chattanooga became tedious. On the other hand, it was nice to be "away from it all".

A few recommendations on things we did with kids ages 6, 7, 10:

1) Chattanooga Aquarium (one of the best!)

2) Glenn Falls - short hike on Lookout Mnt (1 mile out/back?)

3) Benton Falls & Oswald Dome Road (~2 mile out/back? in GA)

4) Signal Point Rainbow Falls Loop (2.6 mile loop)

5) Restaurants:

- Milk & Honey (breakfast / great coffee)

- Brewhouse (brats/beer)

- Good Dog (unique and normal hotdogs)

- Lupi's Pizza (unique and normal pizza)

- Old Plantation BBQ (East of Chattanooga, authentic, and amazing. Takeout only)

- Clumpies (ice cream)

Thanks for opening up your doors to us - we hope to be back some day!
