Enjoyable stay!

  • 4 of 5

August, 2017. Enjoyed our week's stay! The owners were kind and quickly responded to questions we had prior to, during, and after our stay when we realized we left some important items behind. The cabin had ample sleeping space for our family of 9 adults and 3 toddlers. Loved the back deck with plenty of rockers/chairs to enjoy the scenery. The deck wraps around the side and front too! Master bedroom has a walk out deck. We ended up not having time to use the hot tub on the main deck, but that was there too! The kitchen is wonderfully supplied... only place we've rented that had cast iron pans and good pots! We used the grill on the deck as well. The owner has supplied many board games for adults and children, not to mention the billiard, foosball, and air hockey tables. A/C is a must for me when in the south, and the 2 units worked great! My husband and I stayed in the master suite, which has a big bathroom, with big walk in shower and whirlpool tub. TV's are in some of the bedrooms...esp. enjoyed the big one in the family room. The place was clean and well maintained. Do heed their rules on the deck regarding animals ... keep garbage cans secured with the bungee cords, which we did. However, one night we left a child's car seat on the front deck. There were cracker crumbs in the seat and an animal came that night trying to get every crumb it could, ripping out some of the car seat stuffing. Fortunately the seat wasn't totally ruined, but we learned our lesson. Also, regarding young children... you may want to bring a baby gate so little ones don't use the spiral staircase going to the lower level. It's a bit steep and you might not want little ones using it on their own. However, our 3 and 4 year old quickly got used to it, and had no problems. Could be difficult for senior citizens, but they wouldn't have to use these stairs at all if they sleep in the main floor bedroom or loft or master bedroom. But you can get around using this staircase by using the separate lower level entrance, if needed. We used this entrance often, which was great for those staying in the downstairs bedrooms, bringing in their suite cases, etc. or if someone wanted to go downstairs but did not want to use the spiral staircase. We enjoyed the country atmosphere but were not very far from Chattanooga and other areas where we found fun things to do and good places to eat! Grocery shopping and other stores are pretty close by.

Our 2017 "Broken Leg" Family Vacation

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our family vacation at this cabin. The nine of us, 7 adults and 2 children, were there for a week of recreation and relaxation. The view of the mountains from the back deck was beautiful. We enjoyed playing games, watching movies, relaxing in the hot tub, grilling out, and eating s'mores! We hiked some nearby trails, went to Ruby Falls, Rock City, the Aquarium, a nearby Drive-In, and the Incline Railway. We made many memories on our trip.

The cabin was great but there are a few things that would improve it: replacing the living room furniture, screening in the back deck, providing a TV in the main floor bedroom and loft area, and providing a patio table with chairs. Our group of nine would have enjoyed eating our meals together while sitting on the deck.

If you need a place that is handicapped accessible you should look elsewhere. We suggest that a ramp be installed to access this lovely place. On an excursion to Ruby Falls one person in our family fell and broke her leg. When she returned from the Emergency Room using a wheelchair and crutches she was not able to enter the cabin on her own due to the stairs and graveled walkway. She had to be carried up and down the entry stairs by some members of her family.

The owners of this property were very nice and helpful in providing us with great directions, great suggestions for places to eat and visit in the area, and prompt answers to any questions we submitted. Rachael, their local property manager, was very nice and helpful to us. Thank you for sharing your lovely cabin with us!!

Great Trip To The Cabin

  • 4 of 5

We had a great trip to the cabin! We had a group of four couples spending time together. We enjoyed the view off the back porch and grilling out burgers for dinner one evening. Our group spent time playing games, cooking, and relaxing at the property.

We did come across an opossum on the back porch one evening. He was hanging out by the grill. Also, the main floor bathtub drain was clogged, but we did fine with the other available showers.

Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We loved our time at this house. It had everything we needed for a fun, family getaway. It was a very peaceful and quiet setting as well being not too far from tourist activities. We enjoyed playing many games of pool, foosball, and air hockey as well as quiet mornings and evenings sitting on the porch listening to the birds. This is a great house for family get-togethers.

Awesome place!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at this cabin while we were celebrating our daughter's graduation from Lee University. It is nice and roomy. Our kids loved the game room and hot tub. The porch was amazing for a little quiet time. We didn't have enough time to hike, but would love to come back when we have more time to relax.
