This home is craftsman built and perfectly secluded; you'd never imagine you're just minutes away from the eclectic and bustling community of Friday Harbor and all it has to offer.

This open concept home has two-storey windows overlooking the sparkling waters of the sound. Its two bedrooms enjoy the same spectacular view, each with doors opening onto separate east-facing waterfront decks. A hand built stone fireplace and exposed reclaimed driftwood beams highlight the grand-room. A cozy loft peeks out into the surrounding woods, and looks over the grand-room below. A fully equipped kitchen opens onto the grand-room and dining area. Sink into the welcoming furnishings in the grand-room, and spy on the natural world outside.

All you need to make your stay comfortable

We had a wonderful time at pear point house! My family could not get over the views of Mt Baker, Lopez Isl, wild life and the nmost amazing sunrise every morning in November!! The house is equiped with everything to make your stay comfortable. Blankets for the porch, dishes, utensils, wood for a fire! The house is very cosy and you feel as though you were invited to share their wonderful place by the owners themselves. My family wants to make this an annual event!

Amazing!

Where do I begin? Communication with owner was outstanding. She was very prompt with her responses. Check in super easy with a code. The house itself was beautiful and very well appointed. Lots of spices, ketchup, mayo, etc. Tons of kitchen tools. The owner even left us wood and kindling to make a fire in the wood stove. The deck was a great place to hang out with beautiful views. No neighbors and Friday Harbor was about 8 minutes away. Probably the best VRBO experience I’ve had.

Great visit, got snowed in! Still fun and beautiful!

Very comfortable home. Fantastic views. Great location and setting. Would have liked more options on the tv than just the basic Direct TV. While we could have put in our Netflix or Amazon passwords, we were not comfortable doing that. For this type of home, an upgraded entertainment package would have been nice. But we survived just fine. Had to dig out of the snow to get the car out the day we left. Made the ferry with literally only 30 seconds to spare. Hope to visit another time.

Idyllic getaway on the water!

Very comfortably appointed and perfectly tucked away off a quiet road, the Pear Point location feels like you're completely alone with the sunrise and the harbor seals. In fact, it's just down the road from a surprisingly well-supplied grocery, a very good bookstore, and most important, the San Juan Island bakery. We went daily; sometimes twice. The house was fully equipped for folks who like to cook, and the decks in back provide dozens of spots to relax with coffee and a book. A cozy fire in the wood stove at night, and there's not much more one could ask!

Overall, we had a great stay....But,

Our family of 4 enjoyed our stay at this nice residence located in Friday Harbor about 8-10mns from the town itself. We enjoyed the sunrise every morning there with beautiful views on the water. The house is well secluded and private. Evrything was clean. We had a full kitchen + washer/dryer. We would, however, suggest the following: 1) Make sure the entrance to the residence is way better marked and well-lit. When we came in, it was late in the evening and we had a vry hard time finding the netrance to the driveway to the residence. The house is tucked in all the way inside, as thre is a very long driveway to get there. Need better lighting and better signs to indicate the location of the residence to guide you to get in the driveway itself then to the residence. 2) The furnitures in the home are way too old and obsolete. No real entertainment, since the TV has very limited programming, if you decide to stay in to chill out 1 day or so, before heading out on your journey in Friday Harbor. For the cost of renting this place for a week or so, we think that the furniture altogether needs major update/upgrade. TV is very small. A nice flat screen with major programming is necessary. 3) Cell phone reception is not stable, if you have Verizon wireless. Better reception with T-Mobile. Weird, since Verizon is supposed to be the "jewel of the crown" when it comes to cell service. All in All, we had a nice stay in the San Juans, as we were able to visit all 3 islands with our base in Friday Harbor: Had great time in Orcas and Lopez Island as well. Well worth visiting.

Another beautiful anniversary get away

This is second time my husband and I have rented this wonderful home. It is also the second time we have spent our anniversary here. You can tell this home is one filled with love. Paradise

We spent a week at this beautiful home, and everyone loved the private, woodsy location and amenities. The house is very well designed with a central kitchen (fully equipped) and bedrooms off to each side. The sunny living room has breathtaking views of the water. The photos don't do justice to the location...the deck is just a stone's throw from the water, and you can see 180 degrees in either direction. We loved watching the kayakers, ferry boats, sail boats, bald eagles, seals, and dolphins. The hardest decision was just figuring out where to sit and put your feet up! We plan on returning next summer as there's so much to do on the island. And we will certainly stay at this lovely property again.

Very Awesome Experience

We booked this place in advance. We had booked the place for 7 days and wished we booked sooner to book it for a complete 2 weeks. First of all, this place was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING... When you turned into the driveway it was through the woods, which is absolutely cool. The house is snuggled tightly in the woods and surrounded by water. You have two neighbors. One to the right is the owner's cousin. We met him. He was nothing but nice and helpful. Another neighbor to the left. The house is large and beautiful and has a lot of great things about it. The deck is great because if you are an outside person it's so nice to sit out there and relax and drink wine. It was two days before our last day. My wife and I were out on the deck like any night enjoying our wine. All of a sudden I saw a bunch of boats all on top of another near the house. That is a HUGE sign of orcas in the area. When you see a boat from British Canada that says Whale Watching tour it's on. We had Transient whales pass the house. It was absolutely amazing and surprising that they were going in this direction. They ended up in the harbor of Friday Harbor which is rare from what I've heard from the locals. Overall I will rent this place again if it's available when we return in 2019. I recommend going here. The owners are very nice, and helpful. -Jeff

Well appointed and comfortable home. Perfect mix of seclusion and tranquility.

Our third visit to Pear Point. So relaxing here...we just love to sit on the deck and enjoy the wildlife, boat traffic, etc. The home is so comfortable we don't want to leave.

Spectacular Views

We greatly enjoyed our stay and plan to return next year. The house is in a quiet location in the woods right on the water. It has a million dollar view and we enjoyed sitting outside each morning watching the sun come up. Several times we saw otters eating and playing, porpoises, bald eagles and sea lions. If I had to find a gripe, I'd say the house interior and its furnishings are in need of an update, but it was comfortable and clean. Overall a great place to stay and relax on the islands.

Perfect peaceful island home

Beautiful, secluded property with a well-equipped, spacious house. Gorgeous deck and access to a rocky waterfront with sprawling views of Mount Baker. Fully equipped kitchen (coffee press, dishes, wine glasses, food processor, you name it). Spacious living room and dining room. Has a lovely master bedroom, sizable queen bedroom (both with deck access) and a loft. Perfect for a small family get-together or a quiet getaway. Very conveniently located near Friday Harbor, a perfect location on San Juan Island. Owners were easy to deal with and welcoming. Cannot recommend this place more. Would stay many times again!

Fell in love with the house, the location and San Juan Island

We had the most incredible month staying in the Madden home on San Juan Island. The Maddens were extremely helpful and the house far exceeded our expectations. The place was spotless and everything we could wish for was in place for a long stay. The photos do not do the house or the place justice. It has convinced us to consider moving and buying a place on San Juan Island.

A relaxing get-away in a perfect location

Please don't hesitate to book this Pear Point home if it accommodates the number in your party. The amazing view and outdoor spaces complement the cozy interior. The home has all the amenities you need to feel right at home. We especially liked that there were two comfortable bedrooms with views and a bath on the main floor. It is an easy 2.8 mile walk into Friday Harbor. When arriving, you will find a clean, well-maintained home. Plus, there is lots of information on what to do and where to eat on the island. We were hoping there would be fishing spots, but the locals said fishing has been poor lately. We also were hoping for a bit more cable stations to satisfy our sports and news addictions. Mostly, we would like you to know how wonderful, responsive, and appreciative the owners are to their guests. They are readily available to answer all your questions. They are by far the best Homeaway/VRBO owners we have communicated with over the years You will not be disappointed. It is a great place to capture your get-away with photos of the sunrise and water. Beautiful waterfront home with world class view

We loved the tranquility of this waterfront home tucked away from the hubbub of Friday Harbor yet within an easy drive to town. There is a fantastic view of the water and Mt Baker from the decks--we saw harbor seals swimming by every day. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped and the entire house is well furnished and comfortable. The house more than met our expectations. There are a lot of special touches--books and games, binoculars, a book with all the house and island information, and even a bottle of local wine to welcome us. We shared the house with another couple, enjoyed cooking out on the deck and everyone agreed the house stay was one of the highlights of our vacation.

The location is amazing. Right on the water and high enough to get excellent views. We really enjoyed sitting on the chairs on the rocks with the provided blankets (thank you!) and watching the harbor seals. This morning, we saw a pod of Killer Whales swim right in front of us! Too cool. The house has everything that one could want and was well stocked. Just a short drive to Friday Harbor, but far enough to be away from the crowds that, like us, arrive in early August. In short, we had a great vacation here.

Sit Back, Relax and Enjoy!

What an incredible piece of property!! We woke up each morning and enjoyed our coffee down by the water as the sun came up. The owners were easy to work with and very organized. It was incredibly peaceful place that we wish we didn't have to leave; we cannot wait to come back!

Amazing view, perfect location, wonderful escape

We had a wonderful stay at Pear Point. We had 4 adults and one child in our group (3 generations). We had no difficulty accessing the property and were so pleased with the beautiful home and attention to detail. We were greeted with a kind, handwritten card welcoming us and a wonderful bottle of wine. The entire front of the home facing the water is made up of huge windows - just like the listing- so gorgeous. Everyone in our group had their own bed with soft, comfortable bedding, plenty of privacy, and amazing access to the ocean. The home was very clean and well maintained. From the deck and Adirondacks, we enjoyed the beautiful view. A few of us went down to the rocks and relaxed with our toes in the crystal clear water. We had a sweet little seal that frolicked near us most afternoons and plenty of sea birds fished a few feet away. We enjoyed warm fires in the fire place each night with the wood generously provided and made plenty of use of the binoculars thoughtfully placed by the huge windows. There was also a telescope to see further objects. The kitchen was well appointed and we cooked most meals at the home. There was a great barbeque on your the deck, too. The home is conveniently located close enough to Friday Harbor for quick trips, but far enough away that it feels secluded and surrounded be nature. While on the island we saw plenty of deer, fawns, bald eagles, fox, rabbits and robins. We had a perfect trip and highly recommend this home.

Quiet with nice view

If you jog or walk, this is the perfect spot. Very quiet road close to Friday Harbor. Beautiful views. Comfortable beds. Owners were exceptionally accommodating and helpful! Enjoyed our stay!
