Lovely place to get away. Our host was so generous getting us wood and jump starting our car! Lots of room and beds are very comfortable. A solid recommendation for our group

What a wonderful place to stay! Highly recommend this lovely home. From the fireplace to the log interior, everything you could possibly need in the kitchen and a long table to seat 10. Celebrated our brother’s 80th birthday and had a great time.
Very nice, we enjoyed every minute of our time!True North Woods Experience and we enjoyed the North Shore as well.we would stay here again when we come this way.
Stayed here for a long weekend with family, and it was wonderful! Loren is a great host and very responsive to any questions or concerns. Would definitely recommend!
A perfect long weekend to enjoy the mild weather. Recent snowfall had left us with a beautiful landscape, but Loren had cleaned off all the snow so we were able to use the porch and Blackstone griddle all weekend. The combination of wood, stone, granite, eclectic mixes of modern and historic, and color made Timber House an experience for all. An early morning fire in the fireplace and afternoons in the sunshine on the porch were a perfect combination. The centralized location was perfect for day trips to Gooseberry Falls and split rock lighthouse, and then back to Duluth for the Glensheen Mansion. Many hours of games played around the dining table and the high speed provided us with the opportunity to watch the NCAA wrestling finals and March madness. A wagon was helpful to haul in/out our things, but there was plenty of kitchen supplies to prep our favorite family meals. Loved the options for coffee provided by the Ninja DualBrew (k-cups were provided) and plenty of space for our group of 7. A perfect spring break getaway.
Great House with plenty of room and the covered porch was the highlight as it rained off and on during our stay. Location is perfect for day trips into town and up the North Shore.
We are repeat visitors to this wonderful house. It is comfortable and perfect for catching up with friends in a peaceful location. The owners put a lot of thought and care into the place and we hope to visit again in the future!
Lovely, clean home close to Duluth and Two Harbors. We slept great and loved our bonfire under the stars. Loren was very quick to respond to our needs and very helpful.
Incredible house with incredible amenities. Plenty of rooms to accommodate everyone on our trip. Weather was great so we could have our meals out on the deck. There was also plenty of plates and silverware for our meals. We will definitely keep this house in mind for another stay along the north shore.
We have enjoyed the journey of transforming an authentic log cabin & crafting a creative 4 bedroom, 3 bath timber home. We have used natural wood, timbers, stone, and tile together to create a 'natural living environment'.
Why they chose this property
We built it with a vision of bringing together a warm environment. Situated in a tranquil & natural setting surrounded by trees, seasonal stream, with lots of natural products used in the building process- stone, tile, hand crafted plaster and reclaimed fir timbers.
What makes this property unique
The large open and covered deck area has 2+ picnic tables and some chairs for outside dining, propane grill, and a beautiful view of the natural environment! Enjoy the peaceful setting of nature, seasonal meandering stream around the property, lots of nature, and only a few skips away from the North Shores of Lake Superior.
