Overview

About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms + Loft, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

Custom home built in 2009 on 35 fenced and gated acres. Amazing views of the mountains with one of the best Pike's Peak views around.

Total seclusion yet only 1.5 miles to US Hwy 24 on a well maintained County Road. 6.5 miles from Woodland Park, a town of 10,000 which provides several grocery stores and numerous restaurants and services. 30 minutes from Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs with many tourist oriented activities and shopping. Hike the property and additional 25 acres across the road or lounge on one of 2 decks and enjoy the solitude with plenty of visiting wildlife, including the large Elk herd on the adjacent 1200 acre ranch.

Bag a “14 er” and climb Pikes Peak, or hike many of the different trails nearby. Close by there is world class fly fishing, mountain biking, unsurpassed Colorado snow skiing and white water rafting. You can also try your luck gambling at the historic Cripple Creek Mining District, a beautiful 20 mile drive.

This home has many upgrades including hickory cabinets with granite countertops in the kitchen and both baths, stainless steel appliances, tile and wood floors in living room and kitchen, bedrooms with carpeting, in floor heat, 46” plasma flat screen TV with surround sound (including the deck), Wi-Fi, 2 decks, one covered, and much more.

You're certain to have a wonderful and unforgettable Colorado vacation for just the two of you or for the entire family. This property is shared with another vacation rental they reside 750 yards apart and cannot be seen from each other. You can reserve both homes on the property for a larger group.

We do keep the driveway well plowed of snow in the winter, however the driveway does have a few ups and downs, so we do recommend 4 wheel drive in the winter and spring months.

Gorgeous &a relaxing cabin

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was in a perfect location making it easy to visit all the sights we wanted to enjoy around the Colorado Springs area. Loved this beautiful cabin, so cozy, clean, lots of extras, gorgeous view of Pikes Peak, secluded.

Great holiday in Divide

  • 5 of 5

My husband, son, daughter and I spent 6 days in the cabin in August. It was the highlight of our trip to America this year.

The cabin made a fantastic base from which to explore the local area. It was very clean, extremely comfortable and well equipped.

The cabin offers wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. We all enjoyed watching the wildlife, particularly the humming birds feeding from the feeder located on the porch. During our stay we also saw blue jays, deer, squirrels and two calves.

We particularly liked the “eco-friendliness” of the cabin. The solar power was able to cater for almost all of our energy needs, although the back-up generator did step in to provide additional power if required.

We would definitely recommend the cabin to anyone looking for a fantastic holiday home from which to explore the many local attractions.

Beautiful View & Great Location!!

  • 5 of 5

As promised this cabin offers beautiful views of Pikes Peak and is centrally located to everything we wanted to do as a family of 5. This is our 10th VRBO rental and it is by far one of the best - very clean, well stocked and the hot tub was perfect after full days of hiking, fly fishing, horseback riding, bouldering in the Garden of the Gods and Red Rock Canyon, walking up the Manitou Incline and whitewater rafting!

Beautiful Cabin!!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed in the Sun Mountain Cabin for our honeymoon, and was nearly perfect. It is close enough to everything you could possibly need, but far enough way to have privacy with an amazing view. We did all of the touristy things, including Garden of the Gods, Coors Field, golf, and explored Manitou & Colorado Springs. It was surprisingly clean and stocked with just about everything you can think of. Our only negative remark was the bed in the master bedroom. We are used to a soft bed, and this one quite hard, but still not a big deal. Everything else was outstanding. We definitely recommend staying here, and we are wanting to come back ourselves!

Owner's Response: Hi Carl and Brooke, Thank you so much for choosing the Mountain Sun cabin for your honeymoon! We're so glad you had an enjoyable stay. The mattress in the master bedroom is brand new. We buy mattresses that are medium firmness as in hotels as everyone has a varying degree of preference. We would love to have you back in the future, perhaps for an anniversary :) All the best, The Eicher's

Pike's Peak Perfection

  • 5 of 5

My 2 sons (age 20 and 23) and I stayed at the cabin for 3 nights, as part of a 10 day road trip through 4 western states. Fantastic rental! The cabin is exceptionally clean, well stocked, comfy beds and cozy decor, and ....most importantly.....breathtakingly beautiful! We loved coming back daily to the view of Pike's Peak. There are multiple bird feeders all around the cabin and we saw many different bird species...including Hummingbirds, which surprised us in mid-May as it was still kind of chilly at night. A friendly cat also hung out with us on the deck for a while one day. :) My sons thoroughly enjoyed sitting in the hot tub under the stars.....(I dipped in to my knees and it was wonderful!) The sky is luminous with no ambient light....we were lucky enough to ALL see a shooting star one night as we sat talking in the hot tub.

Great location only about 10 minutes to the nearest town, which has grocery stores, a WalMart, and restaurants. Close to Pike's Peak, Seven Falls, the town of Colorado Springs, etc. (All easy drives.)

Kitchen is extremely well stocked with amenities, if you plan on cooking there (we did!) and the grill works great! Fireplace is lovely if the nights get a bit cold. Also, having access to the washer/dryer in the Master bedroom is very helpful if you're in for a long stay.

Colorado was surprised with a pretty substantial mid-May snowstorm during our stay and Kyle was fantastic about staying in communication. (He was a delight to communicate with prior to our visit as well!) He showed up promptly (with his absolutely adorable baby Elijah, safely tucked in his car seat in his Dad's truck!....must just be how Colorado Dads roll!) as promised at 8:30am on the morning of our departure and plowed us out...we had no problem getting off the mountain. (Added bonus: the snow was pretty magical and we woke to a white masterpiece on the evergreen trees!)

Fabulous time spent at Mountain Sun Cabin...my boys and I will never forget it! HIGHLY recommend to anyone who prefers a more authentic/organic experience to a regular old boring hotel!
